  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

El Salvador president vows to double size of prison holding US deportees

While the article is definitely slanted, the doubling of the size of the prison and the future idea to send more terrorists there is what I would like to see discussed. I think we should only send non-U.S. citizens there.

I do agree with you...

I don't think Trump was actually serious btw, he sometimes just trolls the left. But the threat might help our criminals shape up a little! Hahaha

Im all for putting a ? In the mind of a potential criminal to cause him to think twice.

And for places like El Salvador, they are fine for this MS-13 and the cartels, but I wouldn't use them beyond that.

Islamic terrorists will have to go to Guantanamo, and the other minor criminals and miscreants that are illegal just deported to their home country without any charge, but I would definitely put them on a banned list for re-entry into the US.

The rest I'm not that worried about, illegal or not. This is a mess that we will be living with for a while, like it or not. If we could deport 3 million in this administration I would be happy, while about 12 million or more came in.

There's just no way to find and deport that many people in 4 years.

Yes, I also think Trump was tweaking them. It hasn't got much attention but Trump has talked about incentives to get people to self-deport, and that is what I think needs to be done. I don't mind giving them money and a ticket and telling them they can legally apply, and I think that not allowing illegals who don't self-deport to every enter our country again is a wonderful incentive.

Excellent thought!

The actions of the Salvadoran president is proof positive that the immigrants applying for refugee status from there were fleeing danger.
We need to welcome all the Salvadorans with pending asylum claims because their president is all the worst adjectives you can think of--and more.

Realize that he received over 84% of the vote in last year's election. The people were sick and tired of being at the mercy of gangs. This is his second and last term as president.

I doubt the elections were fair and free. Putin won his election, too.

Their Constitution didn't allow him to run this last time but he had their Supreme Court reinterpret the Constitution so he could. Nothing is stopping him from doing that again.
