  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Trump admin. concedes Maryland man from El Salvador was mistakenly deported/sent to mega prison - shrugs 'nothing can be done' [ETA: oh but it can!]

You tell me. I mean what's the conspiracy theory that negates the simple explanation that he was just one of many MS13 members here illegally?
A) he was here legally B) if there is evidence trump could just show it, funny he hasn't done either, and has admited they mistakenly deported him.

Oh, and laughed about him being in jail too.

What about the two courts that ruled he was a member of MS13 and in the US illegally?

No court found that he was a member of MS13. In 2019, one immigration judge decided to keep him in detention based on a single allegation that he was a member of MS13. A second judge found the allegation lacked credibility. The fact is, if the Trump Administration had evidence that he was a member of MS-13, they would have presented that in criminal court. They have not.

We now know it isn’t going to happen.
I have a better reply to that. Trump and the President of El Salvador did meet. And President Bukele refuses to release Garcia because he considers him to be a terrorist.

The President of El Salvador seems to disagree:

When asked during his meeting with President Trump if El Salvador would return Abrego Garcia to the United States, President Bukele answered: "Are you suggesting I smuggle a terrorist into the United States? How can I return him to the United States, like I smuggle him into the United States? Of course, I'm not going to do it."[18]

Why should we want Garcia back in the US, when the President of El Salvador himself considers the man to be a terrorist?

The President of El Salvador has no standing in our country.

We should want Garcia to be deported according to the law. Instead, he was falsely accused and quickly put on a plane to El Salvador with no opportunity to defend himself.

Democrats take note, you have a place to send the Trump Administration and supporters once you win big in 2028.

Throw him in there first, figure out the charges later. Since we're no longer worrying about due process.

Frankly not a single person from this administration has shown any credibility regarding this case. They’re giving everyone, including the Supreme Court the runaround with their non answers and it looks more like the Trump administration has helped facilitate the abduction of a man out of the US on behalf of a foreign government.

But it’s ok. I’m sure they’ll stop at non citizens and people with foreign sounding names.
The man is a citizen of El Salvador and a criminal. The El Salvadorian president can do as he wishes with his own citizens.

...the man was under the jurisdiction of the United States when he was improperly deported and held in a country that is contracted by the US government.

President Bukele has no reason to lie about Garcia being a terrorist. This seems to be a case where the US court system should have deported Garcia back in 2919 and failed to do so.

Figure out charges? What for? You've deported them at that point, it's El Salvador's problem.

He has no reason to tell the truth either. Courts in the USA found no evidence of such claims, that's why he was allowed to stay. But I guess lack of evidence isn't a problem for you. Let God sort them out and such and such?

Sure he does. He's profiting from the contract he has with the US government.
As for 2019, have you read why Mr Garcia was not deported to El Salvador?

No one needs a reason to tell the truth. They do however need a reason to fabricate. I think the court system failed to properly follow through in 2019.

Ah so he's conspiring. I knew there had to be a conspiracy theory involved.

Yes. I think they messed up.
