  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

They did both. They didn't enforce the laws when they arrest illegal immigrants for a crime and release them instead of turning them over to ICE for deportation. They broke the laws when they deliberately obstructed justice by allowing for sanctuary cities and refusing to cooperate with immigration agents. Note, I am not even talking about so called "asylum seekers."
Please cite the EXACT statutue that disallowed sanctuary cities.

But I can save you time. There is none.

There is no law. You may not LIKE that he allowed SC but I'm waiting to hear the law that was broken.

So let's try it again.

What laws did Biden break?

They are deported according to the letter of the law. Just the part of the law that Democrats don't like.
No they aren't.

But if the extent of the logic is "They say they are doing it".

How can I and numerous stories compete with that?

Odd that you’re defending what Administration lawyers have already conceded, in a thread dedicated to that truth titled
Trump administration concedes court-protected Maryland man from El Salvador was mistakenly deported/sent to mega prison - shrugs 'nothing can be done'”

Its funny that as the truth comes out, it appears that the man not only received the due process he deserved, but he actually was an MS13 gang member. Once again, the media lied.

The Trump administration wrote in its legal filing, that the "issue was actually litigated and decided in his bond hearing in 2019. IJ Order 2–3 ('Respondent failed to meet his burden of demonstrating that his release from custody would not pose a danger to others, as the evidence shows that he is a verified member of MS-13' and he 'has failed to present evidence to rebut that assertion.'). See attached file.

He appealed that decision to the appropriate administrative review body, the Board of Immigration Appeals, which adopted and affirmed the immigration judge’s 'danger ruling' notwithstanding Abrego Garcia’s arguments," the filing added.

Of course that doesn't outlaw sanctuary cities.

I'm waiting for that statute but obviously it can't come from anyone.
This is why this conversation is fruitless. I demonstrate that a sanctuary city obstructing federal investigations to protect criminals from deportation being illegal. True, there are no laws banning sanctuary cities if they so choose not to enforce federal laws. But just because they don't want to enforce federal laws doesn't allow them to obstruct federal officers from enforcing them. Thus,Tom Holman and myself, believe it meets the statute of "Obstructing Federal Criminal Investigations."

@Pommer. Furthermore, it appears that the "administrative error" was not that he was an innocent man being deported. But he was a MS13 gang member who had his day in court and was ordered to be deported and was mistakenly moved up on the flight manifest and was deported earlier than intended.

Better that 1000 law abiding citizens get deported by mistake than one dirty illegal slips through the crack.
Based on your logic, we should abandon the criminal justice system altogether because it would be better to not prosecute anyone than to risk having one innocent person wrongly convicted.

I voted for Trump and while I like that he is deporting criminals even I feel that he is going too far and that he needs to allow more due process Amlog with having more respect for the courts.
There are no breaks on the Trump train.

You have evidence of federal agents arresting illegal aliens for a crime and then letting them go again without trial?
They broke the laws when they deliberately obstructed justice by allowing for sanctuary cities
What federal law forbids sanctuary cities?
and refusing to cooperate with immigration agents
You have evidence of the Biden administration refusing to cooperate with ICE agents?
Note, I am not even talking about so called "asylum seekers."
Presumably not, as they are legally in the country.

Which is not worth much as a legal opinion, but your accusation was that the Biden administration broke the law. What about that?

I am not answering your question because that was not the statement I made. But here is evidence regarding the statement you responded to.

No, an immigration judge had given him protected status, blocking his deportation.

The filing stems from a lawsuit over the removal of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national who in 2019 was granted protected status by an immigration judge, prohibiting the federal government from sending him to El Salvador.

That has nothing to do with the statement that you are responding to, nor does it refute the facts of my statement in any way. Therefore, it is red herring intended to draw the conversation away from a loosing argument.

Your statement was that the Biden administration released persons after they had committed the crime.
