CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Please explain precisely how a person who believes it is acceptable for any country to use economic force to bully a free and sovereign nation into annexation is not, by dint of holding such a belief, a fundamentally bad person.

"DOGE" isn't auditing anything. None of DOGEy people on Musk's teams have any experience as auditors. They are just rooting around in databases looking for things that "look fishy" to them and deleting them.

Fri, March 7, 2025A federal judge declined to block DOGE from accessing swaths of Treasury Department data on Friday morning, denying plaintiffs an injunction.
Billionaire Elon Musk's austerity operation will once again have access to some of the nation’s most sensitive personal data on federal paychecks, Social Security, and tax refunds, along with other payments.
In the Friday morning opinion, D.C. District Court Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly overturned her February 6 temporary order limiting access to the system. That order allowed only existing Treasury employees, plus Department of Government Efficiency staffers Tom Krause and Marko Elez, to access Treasury data.

Vague and insubstantive - what, exactly, is Mr. Trudeau doing that is unethical?
And this is more diversion from Trump supporters who have no argument: you cannot deny the facts - Trump is a bully - so you pull the "whataboutism" card.
You would need to make a case that what Canada is doing to the US justifies the attempt to annex Canada against its will.
