  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So my personal theory, and correct me if i'm wrong, is that Elon is destroying every prospect for socialism, within the federal government... And so, if Marxists are known historically to fight violently for their cause..? Then in this case, he could face the wrath of Marxist terrorism, which could 'off' him in mafia-style or KGB style ways.

If it did happen, the coldness we see on the left, like the Luigi sympathizers, and those who criticized the Trump assassination shooter for "missing" the billionaire president, would be totally unsympathetic. And those Luigi supporters are total Marxists! Just like these Musk haters.

..It's pretty obvious who the ones are we need to watch out for! And we should openly be able to discuss this real and actual danger to our democracy!

I think it's more like Elon is finding money fraud within the US government, then he's following the money trail to expose who the recipients are

Example: $30 Million in A Shell company "America's Great" with board members (Nancy Pelosi) & (Gavin Newsom), with personal payments being made to them as board members and payments given to the "Open Society" owned by (George Soros) in paybacks for campaign contributions to the Democratic National Convention

Although Trump did say in his speech to Congress, that he does intend to follow the money to expose the recipients. But you're right, it's not Musk having anything to do with that.

I just don't have an explanation for why the regular, everyday left hates Musk over this so much, considering they have no direct involvement with the corruption. Perhaps this thread is more about the danger of these secret recipients, than it is about everyday liberals.

If you're interfering with these kind of big money interests, you need to watch your back as if you're interfering with the mafia. Under Biden this company was getting 18 million dollars a month for nothing. For an empty building. Weren't the Democrats the working man's party? They don't care at all about the working man. Trump does.

Playing the role of a martyr.
Playing the role of "Reality"

You think those receiving the monies in fraud are going to sit silent and wait for their jail sentence

Yes the criminal money receivers are looking at Elon's head, just as president Trump is in the same situation

The evil criminals hate Musk and Trump

You guys really do like getting conned, don't you?

He doesn't answer the question because he doesn't have an answer. He's full of it. In an answer where he says that there's maybe "20 25%" of the grift on the Republican side, he give you a complete and utter snow job.
He starts leading into this answer around 2:46:00:

Part of me is tempted to watch the rest of the episode to see how much more of it is straight nonsense, but the other part of me has better things to do for 3 hours.

He can afford hundreds of security guard, so his fears are groundless.

But it seems as if he may be getting an attack of conscience. He is aware of the concrete harm he is doing to tens of thousands of people--so far--and worries that someone may be angry enough to try to assassinate him. The solution to this mental angst is to look at it as a sign from God. God is telling him that his actions are wrong and he must amend his life and give up these actions which will drive the US into a severe recession.

You mean he switched after he was snubbed by Biden's EV summit? Sounds like a man of principles.

You're wrong.

, is that Elon is destroying every prospect for socialism, within the federal government...

Yes, the man is "destroying every prospect for socialism within the federal government" while simultaneously running a rocket company that would've failed without winning contracts from the federal government; to this day has, as its largest external customer, the federal government; and launches most of its rockets from facilities owned by the federal government.

I think my eyes rolled back so far that I'm looking straight again.

And so, if Marxists are known historically to fight violently for their cause..? Then in this case, he could face the wrath of Marxist terrorism, which could 'off' him in mafia-style or KGB style ways.

Well, it's a relief then that the liberals won't be against him on that account then.

...I'm just trying to piece together why the left hates him so much. That's all.

That's because those "cuts" haven't come out of their own pockets yet....but every day more and more Americans get entrapped in DOGE's net of layoffs, poverty, inconvenience, reduced services.

Social Security is next, and believe me, the Gray Panthers will rise again. Social Security is the third rail of politics, and if Musk or Trump mess with it, they will get zapped out of public life.

It does not bring me joy that it will take something like Social Security cuts to zap Musk and DOGE (and Trump) out of public life. Seniors with 65+ years of life experience should have been able to see these problems when Trump made his first campaign speech in 2016--like I did. SMH.

I'm not a professional astronomer or astrophysicist, so I'm not sure how to explain to you that the year 2020 precedes the year 2021, but trust me, it just does.

I know exactly how to explain it: you took the incorrect interpretation of @Chesterton's ambiguously-worded description, which he cribbed from wikipedia... or maybe google; I saw it a minute ago, but can't find it now. Either way, it is more accurate to state that Musk supported Dems through 2020, not until 2020. The EV summit happened in 2021, an odd-numbered year in which the US doesn't have federal elections. In 2020, Musk supported Dems. In 2022, he supported Republicans.

It's all right there in his wikipedia page:
