A good thing is that many people in parts of Europe learned Russian language and history in school so it will be easy to assimilate again. Like old friends getting back together.

Right, make a deal giving Russia just a little land. As if that deal would be honored and Russia would not just have become more aggressive inspired by their success.

If Trump supporters cannot acknowledge how weak he is in this "deal" making (surrender), they have no choice but to remain silence. Trump and his administration are firmly in the Russian camp.

I can fully understand why maga people would like to avoid this thread.

Some actually buy into the vibe that Putin and various other new right autocrats are sort of "white knight" saviors of traditional morality.

But most still have their heads screwed on just enough to see the real threat to liberty and small-r republican order. They need time to process this, I guess.
