Ezekiel 34:2 “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God to the shepherds: “Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks? 3 You eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool; you slaughter the fatlings, but you do not feed the flock. 4 The weak you have not strengthened, nor have you healed those who were sick, nor bound up the broken, nor brought back what was driven away, nor sought what was lost; but with force and cruelty you have ruled them. And read Eph 6:12-17 will change you ??

I remember having online debates about the law. I was ignorant of Scripture and God's will. I wanted to repent but i didn't know how. I quoted new testament Scripture that condemned sin. I was called a lawyer and a pharisee. I was just trying to learn and escape my sin. All those people did was confuse me.And read Eph 6:12-17 will change you ??

OK.Free from bondage to my old sin. Free from human courts and judgment.
Baptism of spirit maybeOK.
It was baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of past sins that freed you from bondage to past sins. (Gal 5:24)
It was baptism that destroyed your old man (Rom 6:6) and it was baptism that allowed you to be raised with Christ to walk in newness of life ! (Rom 6:4)
Only one of those scriptures refer to baptismOK.

Sure, but Gal 5:24 illustrates the results of "being Christ's".Only one of those scriptures refer to baptism
Baptism in spirit maybeSure, but Gal 5:24 illustrates the results of "being Christ's".
The flesh, with the affections and lusts, have been crucified !
That won't happen without baptism.
I see people getting baptized who never repent. I don't see how it changes anyone. It's done by the spirit and not by baptism ritual, if you ask me.Sure, but Gal 5:24 illustrates the results of "being Christ's".

No, baptism using water and in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of past sins.Baptism in spirit maybe
Without a real repentance from sin, baptism is a waste of time.I see people getting baptized who never repent. I don't see how it changes anyone. It's done by the spirit and not by baptism ritual, if you ask me.
That sounds serious. And Paul wasn't sent to do that? Baptism didn't help the Corinthians who were carnal infants and didn't act like spiritual people at all. Why didn't Baptism have power to change them? No, baptism using water and in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of past sins.
Rom 6:5 is the key between determining this baptism to be either by man and water, or by God and the Holy Ghost..." For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:"
God's gift of the Holy Ghost doesn't do anything like "plant in the likeness of His death": but by submersion into water, planting is self evident.
So the power is in repentance and not water baptism.Without a real repentance from sin, baptism is a waste of time.
Again, lack of repentance from sin. That sounds serious. And Paul wasn't sent to do that? Baptism didn't help the Corinthians who were carnal infants and didn't act like spiritual people at all. Why didn't Baptism have power to change them?
No, Paul called them all out. He called them infantsAgain, lack of repentance from sin.
Remember, not all the Corinthians were still committing sin.
Only one was actually called out...the fornicator.
The divisive and the one taking a brother to the courts were just ignorant of Christ's mind on such matters.
Power to what ?So the power is in repentance and not water baptism.
I believe its by faith and faith without works is dead. Thats why baptism doesn't change anyone. Everything is faith working by love.Power to what ?
God gave us repentance so we could turn from sin.
God gave us water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the destruction of the old man.
That enables us to hold to our turn from sin.
He also provides the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which keeps us on the path.
And they were baptized.Only the ones who were acting like babes, were called babes in Christ.
