Umm, sure? There's really no downside to it.
Nope. It would guarantee that the United States votes Republican for the next 200 years and "New California, and the Canadian Chicago will just as dependent on the United States as ever. So yes, Trump can have his cake and eat it too.

If we are all voting Republican for the next 200 years, why waste the money on having them. Just have a pure Republican government until 2228.

Well, in spite of the lies that many have been told, the United States is a Constitutional REPUBLIC. Not a true democracy. Perhaps you could look up Lyndon B. Johnson's statements about Black Americans voting Democrat for the next 200 years and why he said such things. Sure, many sources claim that LBJ made no such comments, but if you are willing to blindly believe the supposed comments from Trump about fallen soldiers made by bitter ex-generals, you have to believe the things said about LBJ.

Well that train wreck of a word salad cleared up everything for me.

Let e break it down for you because the comments are so offensive that I cannot provide them here on the forum lest I violate forum rules. So just Google "lbj comments on black voters."

I have a huge problem, guys... I'm supposed to buy a house in Arizona, but this conservative doesn't want to leave California.

You heard right. I feel like I'm going to be massively bored anywhere else in the country. Now what do I do?

Is there any other place as awesome as California? Because I've been a lot of places, and I've never seen it.

...
On paper, Greenland has many of the powers of an independent nation already. It is a self-governing region of Denmark, giving the island widespread autonomy. This means it can elect its own leaders while Copenhagen handles its foreign policy and national defense.

“Denmark doesn’t claim to own it,” said Scott Anderson, a former State Department lawyer and national security expert. “I am quite confident that the government of Denmark, as we’ve seen them say things, doesn’t think it has the legal authority to sell Greenland to anyone....”

... Even if Greenland decides to become independent, the U.S. could still find a way to exercise more control over the island.
The U.S. has deals like that, called Compacts of Free Association, with Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, and Palau in the western Pacific island

Such a deal would give the U.S. exclusive military access and the right to determine which other nations can base their troops to Greenland. It could give the Pentagon a larger foothold in the region while pushing back on Chinese access to Arctic shipping routes as the Polar ice caps melt and Russia’s air and naval bases in Murmansk, on the nearby Kola Peninsula.

It’s similar to the relationship that Greenland has with Denmark, except that all three Pacific countries are independent nations. The Trump administration previously considered the idea of signing a COFA with Greenland during his first term.
Some former U.S. officials argue that the model could ease pressure on Copenhagen, since the island is about 50 times the size of Denmark. The country’s active-duty military is smaller than New York City’s police force.
“Denmark understands that Greenland is going to get independence,” said Gray. “They understand they don’t have the ability to defend Greenland post independence.”
But after Trump’s tacit threat of military action to take Greenland triggered warnings from both Germany and France, the U.S. even helping the island distance itself from Denmark could have diplomatic ramifications...

That would actually kind of be entertaining to watch.

Do you think Denmark would be equipped to handle a San Fran or Oakland?

I wish I could link it here, but alas, too much "naughty language", but the comedian Bill Hicks did a funny bit about the Brits gloating about how they're so civilized, and their cops don't carry guns, and something to the effect of "I'd like to see them up against the Bloods in LA"

Similar concept here...

Here's what you have to do...

Open up your own pharmacy store that locks up the toothpaste behind glass, and then pay someone to take a poop on the sidewalk in front of it, and hire a few college drama majors to follow you around and lecture your about how actually "you're the problem", then it'll feel just like home.
