Oh, not again! How many times have you mentioned this verse, and how many times have I and others tried telling you that the verse does NOT say that the earth is a circle. It mentions the "circle of the earth," so the earth has a circle. Globes have circles - the equator is one. Besides, the Hebrew word translated "circle" can just as well be translated as "circuit" or "compass," as in these verses:

Job 22:14 Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.

Pr 8:27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth.

Besides, God is a spirit, so the verse you quote cannot be literal, as a spirit does not have a literal bottom to sit on!

I know I have quote this verse before, but it is, I believe, a good example of what I mean:

“I am like a pelican of the wilderness; I am like an owl of the desert.” (Ps 102:6 NKJV)

"A pelican of the wilderness" doesn't mean that the wilderness is a pelican, and "an owl of the desert" doesn't mean that the desert is an owl, so why should "the circle of the earth" mean that the earth is a circle, as you keep insisting?

I don't think Proverbs is talking about a tool for drawing circles. "Compass" can also mean "extent" or "limit." You're in Wales, the land of song, so I'm sure you have heard of singers referring to their vocal compass, meaning the difference between highest and lowest notes they can sing. Regarding the Proverbs verse, one commentator, John Gill, wrote: "or "compassed the waters with bounds," as Job says. Job 26:10."

It is good enough. It’s about studying Scripture, not just reading it. Stop judging me & others here. Just because we hold a different opinion on Scripture than you does not mean we don’t take God at His word. That is highly judgemental and is not your place. You have no right to say it. None whatsoever! It is God alone who has that right, not you.

You are speaking to seasoned Christians here. None of us as far as I know are newbies to the faith. I have been a Christian believer for nearly 50 years now. I’ve been around the block as they say. I’ve listened to many talks on many subjects. I’ve been in a few different churches & Bible study groups. I’ve had discussions & debates with a number of people over the years. You seem to think we’ve never studied the verses you keep throwing at us. We have. And we continue to do so.

No I can’t. Every globe earther here who has addressed your questions and demands has taken the time to answer you to the best of their ability. They have been extremely patient with you in the face of your obstinacy and stubbornness, your accusations against them, your accusations against other believers. One or two of us have lost patience from time to time. I include myself in that.

But I have watched Will Duffy and I have watched Dean Odle. Will Duffy is among the most gracious Christian people i have seen. Dean Odle is among the most obnoxious.

So your accusation here has no standing. And the fact you ignore the things you can’t answer & zone in something you think wins the day is testament to that. It won’t work & it never will.

It’s not about teaching you a thing or two. My prayer for you is that you study Scripture for yourself, not to take my word on it. Right now you’re showing that you don’t study, because you keep going on about what you read without going beyond that.

A number of us keep explaining the verses that you keep throwing at us. None of it makes any impact. It’s as if you have a heart of stone towards any understanding except your own. My advice is to stop that & start considering that it could be you that has it all wrong, not the millions of Christians around the world.

Of course not I do know the difference but in Genesis 1 there is no such writing as this, what we read is the truth.

It's the truth; GOD created the earth - but it's not a detailed, scientific account.
As well as not answering my previous questions, it doesn't tell us how long a "day" is, or how there could be evening and morning before the sun and moon were created. It doesn't mention stars or planets, but both exist. It doesn't mention animals by name. But we can't say that tigers don't exist because they are not mentioned in Genesis - I've just seen one.

And it doesn't mention the shape of the earth.

The REST of Scripture?? The Bible has 66 books, you have picked ONE verse out of ONE of the books, (a book with 66 chapters) - and you think that is "the rest of Scripture"?
Where is flat earth mentioned in the Gospels, the Epistles, Proverbs, Chronicles, Ecclesiastes, Ruth, Leviticus, Kings or Hebrews?
If it was clearly taught in one, or more, chapters of all of those books, you might have a point that the rest of Scripture teaches it.

I do study the Bible but I'm far behind you as I don't go into the Hebrew meaning of words that seems like a lorra studying & work which IMO would take all the pleasure out of reading the Bible.

I have considered this but I don't think I am wrong, the thing is I know my history all too well better that most I would say. Try reading up about Copernicus & Martin Luther & the Vatican 500 years ago & you may see just where I'm coming from.
