An announcement surfaced online Friday, issued the Conference of Grand Masters of Prince Hall Lodge Freemasonry, and stating that the Grand Lodge of South Carolina had conferred membership on President Joe Biden.

According to the announcement, dated Jan. 19 — the day before Biden left office — the president was granted a “resolution of membership” by the lodge in recognition of his “exceptional dedication and service to the United States” which “reflects the core values of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of South Carolina, including brotherly love, relief, and truth.”

It is not uncommon for outgoing presidents to be honored by groups and organizations.

But as the second Catholic to hold the office, Biden’s new “membership” of the lodge presents a particular issue: Catholics have been banned from joining masonic lodges and organizations since 1738, and are subject to canonical penalties for doing so.

So, is Joe Biden now a Freemason? And if so, what canonical penalties does he face? Based on the facts available, the situation is more complicated than you might think.

Did he 'join' or did they just sign him up?

Which means he is barred from Holy Communion.
Which SHOULD have been the situation for a bunch of years based on his abortion position.

He only continues to endanger his soul. God desires all to come to salvation, but several people just reject the offer.
Yup! We have free will. Those in hell aren’t victims!

Oh he’ll get around it anyway. We must be realistic.
According to The Pillar article I saw, the case would end up being delegated to the pope because of jurisdictional issues, who seems pretty much incapable of saying a negative thing about his friend and ally Joe Biden. Joe's case will only be taken up in a more eternal tribunal, about the same time as cardinal McCarrick's case. We can pray for mercy I suppose. In justice.

Does the Catholic Church even correct or punish anyone anymore? Other than clergy involved in front page news scandals or ordinary lay people who might be too traditional?
Sadly, it doesn't appear so, but I'm sure she does.

Masonry is indifferentism on display. They say religion does not matter as long as one has good works and subjects himself to the “grand architect of the universe”.

In so doing, they place man above God and in judgement of Him. This is luciferianism to its logical conclusion. No Catholic can be a Mason

There is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Jesus Christ, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, crucified, died and buried, risen from the dead, sitting at the right hand of the Father and will come again to judge the living and the dead.
There is no grand architect above God, although Satan tries to convince men that he is

Maybe not as often as some would like, but yes, it does.

They have a perfect opportunity to prove it. They've had many perfect opportunities to prove it with politicians and celebrities, but they would rather punish normie traditionalists without power, money, or voice.

Don’t forget certain priests as well.

I suppose we are the targets because they know we will give them a modicum of respect while they're slamming us. Everybody else would say 'who gives a rip' and ignore it.

The attitude of a Christian on the path of life is that we can receive no punishment of which we do not deserve. No discipline is too severe compared to the debt we owe Our most holy Lord.

We accept the harsh discipline of the hierarchy and use it for self reflection. We fast and pray that it be taken away yet we are not justified in rebelling against it

Deny ourselves and take up our cross. There is so much opportunity for advancement in the spiritual life at this point in the Church but if we grumble and speak ill of dignitaries we will not get it.
So what if the unjust are not punished? Pray for their repentance. What good does grumbling do? Does it get the unjust to repent? I don’t think so.

I think it rather causes the unjust to mock us and blaspheme God. Is that what we want? God forbid!!

Anyone thinks that he is punished unjustly, prayerfully follow the stations of the cross and imagine looking into your saviors eyes as he takes the cracks of the whip, the spittle and mockery in the crown of thorns, and every hammer blow of the nails in His wounds all for the sins we have committed

As Catholics, we do not go for the prosperity gospel or the popularity church. We accept and desire more suffering for the good of souls especially for our own.

Poverty, chastity and obedience is the way to life.
Greed, lust and pride are the ways of death
