Utah students can no longer bring personal copies of banned books to school [Lucky thing SLC reversed its ban on the Bible]

Oh?
Well, I guess that it’s good to know that I’ve somehow been duped into sounding like a pedophile, huh?
More like tricked into thinking about it the way they want you to. I really don't know for sure. But when I talk about children being taught they can be any combination of genders and sexual orientations, and someone tells me that's not a problem because children are basically on the same level of reasoning and self reliance as adults, I see red flags.

Sounds good to me.
Of course it does. This was never about just school libraries. Just boiling the frog slowly.

It's about child welfare. Child Protection Services exists for a very good reason.

Boiling the frog slowly is getting people acclimated into accepting that transgenderism/transsexualism is the path to take children down.

What exactly do you think the US government and corporate media are trying to control in this situation?
In this situation? This is just a stepping stone towards larger amounts of book bans regarding unfavoured books, like those on climate change, vaccines, problematic US history or women suffrage.

There are already small attempts on those topics, though they aren't as advanced as this one.

The end goal is to prevent any "wrongthink" from reaching the minds of children.

So to counteract that, should all books be considered appropriate for children?

I'd like to see this rule tested in court. I wonder if kids can bring these books on a Kindle? If so, can they read them on a Kindle? Can they access the text of these books online using other electronic devices? What's the difference between that and a hard copy?

I think that it would be a success if censorship didn't increase too much during the next years.

Trump is putting a kibosh on censorship. I don't consider banning erotica in schools censorship. That should just be considered appropriate.

That was a public high school I attended for a short time. Catholic high schools generally weren't co-ed back in those days. I don't know what the girls called their dean. "Sister" probably.;)
I think ozso is referring to the title rather than the position.

Dean of girls does sound strange to me. In college there was a dean of men and a dean of women. In high school it was girl's vice principle and boys vice principle.

A good litmus test is of what's acceptable, is whether or not a parent can read out loud from the book at a school board meeting, without being told to stop because the content is too obscene.

There's lots of youtube videos of just that, which I can't post of course. School boards greenlight books for the children's library that they can't stand being read out loud to them.

Furthermore, probably the only books with pornographic content they've allowed, are the ones with an LGBTQ+ theme.
And we are back to banning the Bible again.

I see no problem with that whatsoever along with the Quran and whatever else is comparable. If it's not a religious school, they're not there to learn religion. Outside of whatever history and social studies needs to cover.

Huh. Well, points for consistency. I disagree. I think weshould error on the side of more information rather then less.
