  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

U.S. sees staggering increase in antisemitic incidents after October 7th

Hamas and Hezbollah must be destroyed. Period.

I agree but aerial bombing is not the solution. Everyone knows that Hezbollah will use human shields.

The whole operation to rescue the hostages is a job for the special/covert ops and intelligence agencies to begin with. Professionals who actually trained to get through the human shields to take down the perps.

Realistically, such operation will not totally eliminate innocent deaths and collateral damage but I doubt it will result to tens of thousands of deaths among civilian population and whole towns reduced into rubble.

The compromise is potentially higher troop casualties. US troops can help fill in the manpower constraints of IDF. A steeper price to pay in terms of troop losses BUT what is gained is everyone's approval. You'll have more leverage to turn the Palestinians against the Hezbollah as well and the ICC won't be hounding the PM.

Most importantly, the world won't be united against Israel and USA.

The worst fallout of this conflict is more nations aligning itself against USA and Israel and accelerating the growing influence of China over the world. When USA is hated, everyone turns their (positive) attention towards China.

I doubt the duo nations can pull another stunt like that. They triggered a new arms race they can't compete in and pushed everyone to hate them. Another mindless move like it is like digging their own graves.

The exploding pager thing was good but that was a one off IMO. Operations using special/covert ops would take forever giving the terrorists more time to regroup and get stronger.

USA accumulated tons of experience waging such warfare during its anti-terrorism campaign. They made it work eventually,

It is the right help and support US should have provided to Israel since day one. Help in the form of knowledge sharing, training, and providing Israel with highly experienced troops for surgical ground ops.

There is a cost for doing things right. There's also a cost for doing things wrong - diplomatic crisis, economic sanctions, persecution, empowering your enemies,

Things have improved a lot since the war on terror began and American battle survivability is way way better than either side of the Russia-Ukraine conflict

12000 of mostly combatant casualties is way better number than >45000 dead of mostly non-combatants.

Think of the future as well. The way things happened would guarantee future retaliatory strikes and further losses. A real victory is having real peace. If you have no peace from your neighbors, you're probably still at war.

...and how many of our troops will die? Actually no, most civilians now HATE Hamas because they now rightly realize that it was Hamas that put them in this situation. It has to be like WW2, Nazis HAD to be completely defeated and the civilians had to see it. Otherwise nothing, mindsets, will never change...

Are you saying it's justified to risk the lives of non-combatants to teach them a lesson.

This thread is about antisemitism in the US. There are plenty of threads on foreign issues.

How else can we get attention away from this inconvenience unless we say " Well yes, but look at what is happening over there".

Purported writings from Antioch High School shooter show his plans, thoughts before death

In one of his first sentences, Henderson wrote he "was ashamed to be Black." He was anti-Semitic in his writings and posted a flyer from the Goyim Defense League, which is a neo-Nazi white supremacy group that visited Nashville this summer.

Henderson said he was inspired by Candance Owens, a conservative Black pundit who previously called Nashville home.

"Candance Owens influenced me above all each time she spoke," Henderson wrote.

The whole world disagrees. Even USA at some point with its wealth of urban warfare expertise chastised Israel of not doing enough to minimize civilian casualties.

Everyone knows the Hezbollah will insert themselves among civilian populations. This is an intel/covert ops work. You can demoralize and drive fear to the enemy just the same by assassinating their officials, unit commanders, even random assassination of lower ranking combatants etc. It makes them more agreeable to accepting bribes and turning against their own, sharing intel, more leaders assassinated, more intel revealed until they are virtually under your control. And then you won't have any problems locating and rescuing the hostages.

Things did not escalate further when Israel is simply assassinating officials. It didn't bother the international community and the enemy response is restrained which is good.

When you're leveling whole towns, you're probably considering to occupy the territory and everyone knows that. It's no longer acceptable in this modern age when all human life is now valued including Arabs, Muslims, Blacks, and Jews.

So? They are not Israel. The US...UNDER BIDEN chastised Israel.

If Israel does a “bad thing” is the government of the United States of America not “allowed” to chastise Israel over it?
They can say and do whatever they want...the UN does with its constant silly resolutions against Israel, whether it is true or not. Israel is a sovereign State.

Israel is a sovereign state, we agree, it can do whatever it thinks wise for it’s continued existence. If it thought it was “wise” to subjugate the Gazans to such a repressive-regime in what amounted to an open-air prison, until they get violent. Well, Israel is sovereign.

HAMAS subjugated them and Gaza civilians now recognize that fact. Gaza was a seaside paradise under Israeli control. When given to the PLO, Gaza became a cesspool of filth and terrorism.

“The Gazans cannot govern themselves“ has a colonial ring to it.
