CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

NJ has had oodles of chances to vote out the distinguished gentleman from the Garden State, everyone knows he hasn't been a choir boy; apparently the citizens must like the bennies too much.

Speaking for myself, I've been reserving judgment until he was convicted by a jury of his peers. Rumors aren't the same thing as a jury trial. Now he's been convicted by a jury. That makes a difference.

He should have resigned months ago.

Prosecutors seek 15-year sentence for Menendez after bribery, foreign agent conviction
The government also asked the judge to impose a sentence of at least 10 years on Wael Hana and nine years for Fred Daibes, Menendez’s co-defendants.The three men are scheduled for sentencing on Jan. 29.

No, nobody on the left is screaming about weaponized prosecutions, witch hunts and lawfare. I should have thought the dichotomy would help even the simplest soul see the double standard.
