Then you should close the thread because there is no civil war in the Republican Party - what there is - is the ability to voice disagreements. One of things my wife I did, way back in the 90's and early 2000's was restrict television for our children to maximum an hour on week days and two hours on weekends. It made them read and play games with each other. There were no sleepovers and not one of them had a phone before 16. And their first phone was not a smart phone.

Certainly I think we can and should have (as we do!) 'two lanes'. One for temporary agricultural guest workers, and one for skilled employees. We just need to work on figuring out the correct width of each of those lanes.

There seems to be far more than the two lanes for overall legal immigration. Family members, investors who bring jobs, ministers, refugees, and even entertainers/pro sports people.
