  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The swamp will assemble in the White House when the Cabinet is convened.
They will then get their orders to pollute minds and spread their malodorous proposals all over the country.

I think CPB is a federal agency, but not PBS and NPR. Im pretty sure they werent created by the govt and cant be dissolved by the govt. The wiki link seems to back that up.

CPB which provide some of their funding is tho.

I'm also not fond of OSHA
Funny story about OSHA. I have a friend who used to work for Montgomery Ward in the service dept.

He described a large room where mechanics would repair lawn mowers. They were complaining that the room needed more ventilation; that as the day progressed; they were being choked out by exhaust fumes.

Monkey Wards ignored their pleas.

A whistleblower called in OSHA. OSHA tested the air quality and si8ad it was fine.

The whistleblower called in OSHA again. This time they made the mechanics wear masks that would sample what the mechanics were breathing; so that it could be analyzed at a lab.

After a week of testing, OSHA said the air quality was fine.

The whistleblower called in OSHA again.

Again OSHA provided masks.

This time the mechanics didn't put their masks on their faces, They put them on the exhaust of their lawnmowers.

OSHA still insisted that the air quality was A-OK.

In essence OSHA told these workers to go suck a tailpipe.

These protection agencies might make you feel good; but they are protecting corporate America from the very people they are purporting to protect.

Then you want to eliminate CPB.

As for me, I do find PBS and NPR somewhat biased, but very reliable. In this age where people value opinion over reporting, anything reliable is worth keeping around.

There are 3 sides to every story, what he said, what she said, and the truth.

Xenophobic disinformation generally doesn't qualify as reliable.

National Public Radio has corrected an online article that falsely asserted that documents from first son Hunter Biden’s laptop had been “discredited by U.S. intelligence.”

"An open-minded spirit no longer exists within NPR, and now, predictably, we don't have an audience that reflects America," writes Uri Berliner.

On April 16, it was announced that Berliner was handed a five-day suspension from NPR, starting April 19. The organization cited internal policy as the reason for the suspension, saying the editor violated its rule that prevents employees from “doing work outside the organization without first getting permission,” The New York Times reported.

In a now-deleted tweet, NPR ran the headline: “Right-wing extremists are turning cars into weapons, with reports of 50 vehicle-ramming incidents since protests erupted nationwide in late May.” The photo NPR used to accompany the headline showed a silver car surrounded by a group of people.

But a full video of the incident and a local news report contradicts this characterization of the photo as being representative of right-wing vehicle ramming incidents. The driver appears to be surrounded by about 11 people, one of whom is holding a megaphone, who yell at and then appear to try to attack the driver. As more people run toward the car and throw objects at it, the female driver hits someone with the car while attempting to flee.

You need to put these things in big picture context. NPR comes out pretty good all things considered. (ahaha I crack myself up)

Compare it to various alternatives and youll see.

Those aren't really alternatives for you and I, except in as much as they have influence over various media outlets and personalities over here.

I'm talking about domestic US media. Stack them all up, flaws and all, side by side, and PBS comes out pretty good on average.

Yes they are.

I Stack NPR with the Government founded propaganda mouthpieces that I listed.

Now can we get back on topic. Which alphabet agency would you cut first?
Congress give those agencies their regulatory authority and can take it away if they wish. Would you cut Congress?
