Russia, China, North Korea, Iran and number of countries love to see the United States divided and have become pretty effective at manipulating our "information" to divide us. We seem to gobble it up and let hatred and fear divide us.

Can we here commit to supporting whichever candidate gets elected? I don't mean supporting their policies. I mean acknowledge that the candidate has been duly elected and has the right to office. This is America where we have right to nonviolent protest. How about we look for what we have in common.
We all want infrastructure security. We all want safety. We all want opportunity to thrive., etc

We may have very different ideas about how to accomplish our goals. But I think we are all glad we are citizens of the United States.
Our problem is the extreme right and left. We need more moderation, more compromise, more agree to disagree without getting personal.
There is no extreme right or left. You either have abortion or you don't. You either have illegal immigration or you don't. You either have crime in the streets or you lock the criminals up. You either make America great or you don't.

The Democrat party march in lock step to an ideology gobalist view. This runs counter to the nationalist view of some of the Republicans.

BTW-Don't believe for a moment that the Democrats want safety. Their actions of releasing criminals from jail, allowing criminals to steal up to $1000 in goods, and failing to control just who is coming into this country is evidence that they do not want safety-your safety.

If only the world were so black and white and simple as that. Then all we would have to do is build a wall and build more prisons.

NO.

It is to encourage ALL OF US to be less extreme in our views and more willing to compromise in more civil discussions.
I appreciate your efforts, and hope they are successful.

Presently, we have a presidential candidate, the current VP, Kamala Harris, calling Trump a Nazi and his supporters Nazis. That is half the Country she believes are Nazis!!!
:swoon:

... And her supporters may well be in agreement with her.

So where do we go from there? How do we come to a mutual compromise with each other and hope to have civil discussions ... when half the Country believes the other half are Nazis????

Hopefully this ridiculous 'Nazi scenario' will go away, if Trump wins the election.
But if Harris wins, I expect it will go on ...

Isn't Trump also talking about using the military for "the enemy within", mentioning Pelosi and Schiff?
That is ok with you?

We all need to dial it down. But then, boring news, no ratings, popularity goes down, support goes down.
They need to keep people angry and fearful, fired up. At least more seem engaged but it is not civil thoughtful engagement.

Have you listened to Trump as well as Harris?

There you go ...
not addressing the issue of calling half the Country Nazis, but deflecting with a comment about Trump.

That is so like what Kamala does repeatedly on the campaign trail ... not answer questions, or discuss her policies, but deflect and talk about Trump.

But I will do differently, and address your questions:
We do have enemies within. One is naive not to think so.
Yes, I have listened to both.

Now obviously you lean very progressive and Democratic, and I do not.
So I guess we are done here; never the twain shall meet.

Peace be with you.

Could Fox News have stitched a few Harris soundbites to sound scary?
Trump has most of us terrified. Some experts say it's dementia. Others say fascist.
Most say both, and if the prospect of a demented fascist doesn't scare you you have nerves of steel.
I can listen to five minutes of the Republican candidate without hearing one sane sentence.

You have nothing to fear.
Donald Trump is a good man.
Should he become President again, you will see that your fears are unwarranted ... unless you are an illegal immigrant.
Then? You could have something to fear.

God bless.

His enemies list includes half the country. I have not yet been brainwashed enough to have nothing to fear, and I pity those who have been.

Donald Trump has never called Biden/Harris supporters 'deplorables', 'Nazis', or 'garbage'.
So as a Biden/Harris supporter you have nothing to fear from a Trump presidency.

If only the world were so black and white and simple as that. Then all we would have to do is build a wall and build more prisons.
The ploy is simply to say "Can't we all compromise" and then push the liberal agenda. These agendas are often packaged as fairness, compassion, individual choice, etc., all the while ignoring common sense, decency, and safety concerns. Yes, abortion is black-and-white along with many other issues these days such as men playing in women sports or people running across the border who we have no idea who or where they are coming from.

Even 9/11 only brought us together for a short while. I am pessimistic.
A different time. Different leaders. George HW Bush used to call Bill Clinton his son--because of his close friendship with W.
But the Republican candidate today has been excluded from a Republican American hero's funeral. At Elijah Cummings' funeral legislators refused to shake his hand.
During his sad years as president, he only let Republicans come to signings of bipartisan bills.
He has emboldened other radical extremists to adopt his combative, exclusionary, hateful winning formula.
Whoever wins, I hope the diminishing number of independent, ethical Republicans will regain their party.
I want another election like 2008 when there were good candidates on both sides.
