  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Musk is promising to give $1 million each day to someone who signs his online petition, which reads: "The First and Second Amendments guarantee freedom of speech and the right to bear arms. By signing below, I am pledging my support for the First and Second Amendments." Any registered voter in the swing states is eligible.

Musk is also offering any Pennsylvania registered voter $100 who signs and refers another PA voter to sign.

"It is a federal crime to pay people with the intention of inducing or rewarding them to cast a vote or to get registered, an offense punishable by prison time. The prohibition covers not only monetary expenditures, but also anything of monetary value like liquor or lottery chances, a Justice Department election-crimes manual says."

Of course, Musk is gonna get away with this one. All the elites seem to get away with crime.

He doesn't seem to understand the way democracy works, and the country he grew up in, South Africa, had a brutal apartheid regime that was not a good example of how government should work.

It would be ironic if people signed to get his offer and then voted for Harris.

Remember when the right got all bent out of shape about ACORN paying people to register folks to vote?

Fox News examined the legality surrounding the initiative and found that it is a legal gray zone that appears to be open to interpretation, also finding similar Democratic initiatives in the Keystone State and nationally.

Under federal law, it is a crime to pay someone to register to vote. However, Musk's giveaway is not enticing voters to register but instead sign a petition.

Musk's rules surrounding the $1 million award include that voters sign his PAC's petition, which backs the First and Second Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. The initiative outlines that it only applies to registered voters in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin and North Carolina, implying that non-registered voters do not qualify for the program.

"The First and Second Amendments guarantee freedom of speech and the right to bear arms. By signing below, I am pledging my support for the First and Second Amendments," the petition reads.

Isn't paying people $47 for each referral to sign his petition the very picture of an astroturf campaign?

Come on. This is clever. He should get points for that.

Elon will probably be sued. The process is the punishment. Look at all the mess already directed at Elon:

Lets not forget the bunches of oligarchists for Harris and the Democratic Party.
Do tell, which ones are putting $45M per MONTH into campaigning on her behalf? Which ones are trying to directly pay swing state residents to sign his petition and register to vote? Which ones specifically are hopping around on stage with her during her rallies?

What is Musk buying?

Forbes found at least 100 billionaires in the corners of either former President Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris—with many more backing Harris—but unlike the world’s richest man Elon Musk, who stumps extensively on Trump’s behalf, many have elected to watch from the sidelines, like Warren Buffett and Mark Zuckerberg.

A total of 79 billionaires (or more) are backing Harris. Forbes identified these 28 billionaires who donated $1 million toward groups supporting Harris through August:

I'm sure if Trump wins, he will pardon his billionaire elitist buddy. In Trump's mind laws don't apply to the mega wealthy, especially, those that say nice things about him.

Right - if he was garnering votes - which he is not - if he was registering voters - which he is not.

Why is Musk doing it - the man is 100% about gathering data - think about the information gathered. That is his motivation IMHO. and what is 15 mil to him?

He does not mention party - just supporting the First and Second Amendments -

Kamala says she supports both - why would that be upsetting to the Left?

Agreed 100%. Regardless of who wins, the elites will always get away with something. Laws sadly do not apply to the mega rich. At this point, we might as well get rid of all laws, and live in anarchy, or have laws apply to everyone regardless of wealth.

Joe Biden it seems (to me anyway) acts with integrity. He has not tried to interfere in any of the investigations into either himself or his son. He hasn't gone on a media campaign to call the investigations witch hunts. and he has said that he won't pardon even his son.

Obviously this last item will be put to the test and we won't know how solid this is until he hands over the presidency to either Harris or Trump.

Umm, Biden does not have much integrity either. If he did, instead of spending $60B in Ukraine, we would spend $30B in Ukraine, and use the other remaining $30B to help millions of Americans citizens or Veterans who are poor or homeless.

Again, this list is showing the liberals that there are a lot more of the elites oligarchs supporting Kamala Harris than Donald Trump. If Elon Musk was supporting Kamala, he would be every liberals favorite elite oligarch.
