  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Traditionally a Democratic-leaning group, Catholics have increasingly shifted toward the GOP in recent years and that constituency appears likely to prove critical in the key battleground of Pennsylvania, where they constitute nearly a quarter of the population in the narrowly divided state.

Catholics represent roughly 24% of Pennsylvanians, according to the Pew Research Center. With former President Donald Trump currently trailing Vice President Kamala Harris in the Keystone State by just 1.0% on average, bolstering support among Catholics could conceivably hand the state and the White House to Trump. The Senate race, meanwhile, loosely favors incumbent Sen. Bob Casey, D, who leads Republican David McCormick by 4.5% on average.

In 2020, Pennsylvania broke for President Joe Biden, a Catholic, over Trump. It previously backed the Republican in 2016 over Clinton. Now, with the state so narrowly divided, both the Trump campaign and conservative groups seem to see the value in courting Catholic voters.

Yeah!!
I hope this also means they are waking up and return to Mass frequently seeing the mess we have in the world.

I also see on TikTok that minorities have shifted as well.

If foreigners are watching the news with any kind of tech that translates, they will determine who they want as well.
Many that stayed in our country during Trump actually preferred how much better it was overall.

Trump is in Scranton, PA right now! (Got him on 'the tube'! lol)

But the Democrats are not sitting by idly. Obama will launch his 'get out the vote' tour for Harris tomorrow in Pittsburgh.

The battle is really heating up now ...

EXCLUSIVE: Anonymous letters threatening violence mailed to Trump supporters in Pennsylvania

The Post Millennial has learned that some voters in the Philadelphia said they have received threatening letters sent through the US Postal Service using a facsimile of a Trump campaign letterhead. The printed letters begin with the salutation "Dear Neighbor" before briefly mentioning reasons not to vote for Donald Trump and JD Vance but then dive headlong into outright threats. The writer claims, "We know where you live, you are in the data base," "there is no knowing what may happen," and "your family may be impacted, your cat may get shot."

The letter initially claims to be "a quick note of thanks for being engaged in the election and for your participation in the process," then claims to be "writing with a concern about the level of political violence in the country during this election year as well as the threats to our democracy and freedoms." It asks the reader to "take a close look at the truth, facts and the future for a better America where we can all live in harmony together."

One of those who said she received the letter is Janet, from Penn Valley, who preferred not to use her last name. She has Trump signs in her yard and that she had filed a police report with the Lower Merion Police. Janet said the officers were unable to pursue the matter without video, but as the letter came through the USPS, there is no video to speak of. Janet told The Post Millennial that police said that they had heard from another homeowner who had also received the same letter. A local in the area who is in contact with Trump supporters confirmed to The Post Millennial that additional households told her they had received the letter as well, both by mail and in the mailbox without postage.

I work with someone who has lived here 30 years from Iraq [mostly immigrants I'm telling ya]
And she likes Harris because food is higher in Canada and we're doing so much better.
Her brother lives there and paid $500 for a cart of food. Therefore; we're still good here in comparison... but she better be ready.

I said Canada is socialized and that's what Harris wants here...

Honestly, I do not care where immigrants come from, so many are so uneducated on why America [is?] or was the land of opportunity.
I don't have the skills to explain economics to people who barely understand me anyway.

Fetterman issues warning to Democrats after Elon stumps for Trump in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman is warning fellow Democrats not to dismiss Elon Musk's support for former President Trump in the Keystone State.

Nineteen Electoral College votes are at stake in Pennsylvania on Nov. 5 and the state is rated a toss up by Fox News' Power Rankings.

With both Trump and Vice President Harris fiercely competing there, and the winner likely to take the White House, the plain-dressed and plainspoken Fetterman told the New York Post in an interview that "Musk is a concern."

"Not even just that he has endorsed [Trump], but the fact that now he’s becoming an active participant and showing up and doing rallies and things like that," Fetterman said, explaining that the enormously successful Tesla and SpaceX CEO is an attractive figure for the kinds of voters Harris needs to win.

"I mean, [Musk] is incredibly successful, and, you know, I think some people would see him as, like, a Tony Stark," said Fetterman, referencing the popular Marvel Comics character. "Democrats, you know, kind of make light of it, or they make fun of him jumping up and down and things like that. And I would just say that they are doing that at our peril."

Elon Musk Says With Four More Years Of Kamala, We’ll Have ‘Mad Max’

Elon Musk warned residents of Pennsylvania on Thursday that if Vice President Kamala Harris gets another four years, America will look more like the dystopian, post-apocalyptic movie “Mad Max.”

During the billionaire CEO’s town hall for former President Donald Trump, Musk told the crowd in Folsom that the reason he was there in person was because the state is “so important to the future of the world.”

“This election is going to decide the fate of America,” Musk told the enthusiastic crowd. “Along with the fate of America, the fate of western civilization.”

(I just LOVE this story!
If Trump doesn't win the election, I'm really gonna miss his very entertaining presence in our wacky America!)

Trump works the fryer at Pennsylvania McDonald's

(The Center Square) – A Philadelphia-area McDonald's onboarded a new worker on Sunday: former President Donald Trump.

The Republican nominee’s campaign shared footage of an employee at the Feasterville location in Bucks County training Trump, a black and yellow apron shielding his trademark red tie, how to cook the restaurant’s iconic French fries.

In separate clips, Trump serves customers waiting at the drive-thru window and pays their bills out of his own pocket.

With the common, everyday folk? Yep, I definitely think so!

To see Trump working at McDonalds is just a hoot! ^_^
Lol ... it probably doesn't appeal much to the 'surbanite' women he is trying so hard to reach ...
I don't know if he can ever reach them ...
but some of us others do get a 'kick' out of his style!

I'm trying to enjoy as much 'Trump' fun as I can before the election, cuz if he loses I expect the fun ... and the open expression of American patriotism ... to come to an end.

Then, I'll be singing: "Thanks for the Memory" ...

JD Vance, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Make Push for Catholic Votes in Pennsylvania with Ad and Op-Ed

Senator JD Vance (R-OH) and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are working to reach Catholic voters in Pennsylvania during the final days prior to Election Day, with Kennedy starring in a new advertisement released by a Catholic political action committee and Vance offering an opinion column detailing the complicated history between Vice President Kamala Harris and Catholics.

In the ad released Thursday by CatholicVote, a nonprofit political advocacy group, Kennedy said former President Donald Trump represents an opportunity to address the country’s shortcoming “through unified action,” which he said represents Catholic thought.

“Two features in Catholicism are the notions of original sin and the concept of a forgiving God. Our job is to strive to perfect ourselves through conscious contact with our Creator, knowing that in human form, we’re never going to achieve perfection,” said Kennedy. “We’ll always slip, but each time we get to get up and strive again.”

The former presidential candidate, who originally ran as a Democrat but later suspended his independent candidacy to endorse Trump, said America is afforded a similar opportunity.

Kennedy explained, “The same is true for America, even when we don’t live up to our national ideals, we get to remedy our shortfalls through unified action. That hope has led me to support Donald Trump.”

No matter what you may think of Harris, this is really pretty entertaining to watch.
(The video at the top of the page plays it all.)

While speaking to a black church congregation on Sunday, Harris suddenly took on the accent of a black preacher!
:preach:

Harris mocked for unveiling 'new accent' at Philadelphia event: 'Everything about this woman is fake'

Vice President Kamala Harris is back in the battleground state of Pennsylvania on Sunday, where she spoke before a Philadelphia church congregation and subsequently came under fire from social media commenters for allegedly unveiling a "new accent" during the event.

"BREAKING: Kamala Harris unveils a new accent at a black Philadelphia church," popular conservative X account "End Wokeness" posted Sunday accompanied by video of Harris at the event.

Harris traveled to the Church of Christian Compassion in Philadelphia on Sunday morning, where she spoke to the predominantly Black congregants, telling them that in just nine days, voters will "have the power to decide the fate of our nation for generations to come."

Report: Amish Possible Key Demographic in Trump Winning Pennsylvania

Amish voters in the upcoming presidential election may be an important demographic in former President Donald Trump winning Pennsylvania.

Rep. Lloyd Smucker (R-PA), who grew up Amish, spoke to Fox News about how more Amish had switched from farming to running businesses, and were “becoming much more engaged politically.”

Smucker noted that people in the Amish community “love President Trump” because of “his policies,” adding that they like Trump because he is in favor of small government among many other reasons. The Republican congressman explained that the Amish are “very interested in religious liberty” and are “concerned about the border and economy.”

“You have a minority of the Amish who are now farming, agricultural,” Smucker told the outlet. “They’ve run out of land in Lancaster County a long time ago. So, there’s a new generation of Amish who are business owners, they’re running their very successful businesses — some of them are large businesses. And, so they’re becoming much more engaged politically than their parents were.”

Smucker explained that the Amish people are “known” for having a “great work ethic” and having “really strong family values” and a “strong sense of community.”

“They help one another, they reach out when a member of their community is in need and they all rally around that individual,” Smucker added. “It’s the idea of strong, individual responsibility, a strong family unit, and then a strong local community or local church. And, when you have all that in place, you don’t need a big government, and that’s exactly how the Amish look at that. They take care of their own, and they just don’t want government to interfere with that. We’re seeing a real change in the Amish community, and I think it’s going to continue to change going forward.”

Fox News reported there were roughly 90,000 Amish in Pennsylvania and 84,000 Amish in Ohio, according to “a report” from Elizabethtown College:

A report from Elizabethtown College estimated 90,000 Amish live in Pennsylvania and 84,000 live in Ohio, in addition to sizeable populations in Indiana, Wisconsin, New York and Missouri.

PA’s Cambria County Extends Voting Hours After Software Malfunction

A software malfunction that caused ballot scanning issues in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, has resulted in the Court of Common Pleas extending voting hours an extra two hours, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Pennsylvania Department of State Tuesday xweeted Tuesday morning:

The Department of State is in contact with county officials in Cambria County. Voters are continuing to vote by paper ballot, in accordance with normal operations, while the county resolves the issue with in-precinct scanning. We are working with the County to resolve this technical matter and remain committed to ensuring a free, fair, safe, and secure election.”
The issue involved the machines that scan your paper ballots. The machines stopped scanning and voters were given the choice of placing their ballots in a lock box where they had to trust their vote would be properly scanned (and therefore counted) after the issue was fixed, or told to return later in the day.

Cambria’s County Commissioners filed the emergency request to extend voting hours, WTAJ Altoona reported:

The Board has filed a Court Order extending the time to vote within Cambria County. No one should be turned away from the polls if they wish to cast their vote. Cambria County Board of Elections took measures to have IT specialists called to review the software issue. There is a process in place for issues of this nature. All completed ballots will be accepted, secured, and counted by the Board of Elections. The County Board of Elections has express voting machine at precinct locations to continue to allow voting electronically, while still allowing hand ballots to be cast.
The request was quickly granted.
