The last paragraph of your post disagrees with the last sentence of your post.
The interview was expected to only last 25 minutes. It was running longer than the allotted time, so he was being reminded off camera by the Harris team that it was time to wrap things up. It wasn't ended early; it went longer than what was expected.

I don't understand why you posted that because Kamala Harris did not do well at all there.
Kamala was awesome! Brett tried a bait and switch with the "enemy within" tape - but Kamala put him back on the straight and narrow and said words to the effect of "You KNOW what he has said about the 'enemy within' - and how he cannot even handle a little criticism or protest. And that he threatens to turn the MILITARY on the American people for protesting!"

Freedom of speech.
First Amendment.
And Trump wants the military to 'shoot them in the leg' or something.
yeah - what a guy.

What are you talking about? Trump was having people shot right and left during his last presidency. I hear this time around though he's going to start with having them shot in the ear.

I just watched if. And Democrats who thinks that Harris did well (and by that I mean actually answered questions) is delusional. Every question asked about what she and Biden did while in office was turned into a Blame Trump moment. She didn’t answer the questions. You have to take responsibility for what happens in your administration. And she didn’t.

Now, from her perspective she did great. It’s obvious that her intent was to blame Trump for the last four years, and she did.

On this video, Brett Baier discusses what Kamala Harris and her team did in an attempt to control the interview and the length of the interview.
"Originally, we were going to do 25 or 30 minutes. They came in and said, ‘Well, maybe 20.’ So, it’s already getting whittled down."

His statement in that video confirms that the interview wasn't ended early and went longer than what was expected.

The one question he should have asked every single time she replied “I will follow the law” should have been.

Will you pledge not to change the law.

I’d have to go back again, but I think somewhere around seven times when he brought up obvious past statements that contradict her flip flops. She responded. I’ll follow the law.

I just watched the whole thing. I came away with one very solid talking point from Harris; Trump is bad. Everything that is wrong is because of Trump. Please forget that Biden/Harris have been in office for nearly four years and have had plenty of time to attempt to rectify the issues. Remember when Trump was president more than four years ago? Yeah, he did bad things. Real bad things.

Oh what's that you say? We rescinded a bunch of immigration EOs that severely exacerbated the situation at the border? We take no responsibility for that at all. We don't even want to talk about the fact that arrivals quadrupled as a result of that foolish action. Now we're ready to "fix" the issue we caused.

As per usual, I am certain that Democrats will think Harris did a great job and Republicans will think she tanked. As an independent, it illustrated for me the inability of Harris to take responsibility for any of her administration's failures, and a desperate attempt to make it seem like she will "turn the page" despite ALREADY being in office for nearly four years.

The "issue" is Trump's determination to end democracy.

General Milley, who calls Trump "the most dangerous person ever" and "a fascist to the core" and Defense Sec'y Esper called him "a threat to democracy."

John Bolton, Bill Barr, Alyssa Farris Griffin, Cassidy Hutchinson.

"John Kelly, Trump’s former chief of staff, had his own long falling-out with Trump. Kelly, in a lengthy October statement to CNN, described Trump as “a person who admires autocrats and murderous dictators” and “has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution, and the rule of law.”

The people in the know who are trying to warn America are too numerous to mention, but his supporters have heard all of them, and seem too mesmerized by Trump's dancing away from town hall questions to care.

Just like Harris did, the left tries to avoid what the topic is and just blame Trump for everything.

I think Trump is an awful candidate, and sadly, I don't think I can bring myself to vote for either candidate this time around, but this alarmist rhetoric that Trump will "end democracy" is foolishness.

In Jon Stewart's return to The Daily Show a few months ago, he concluded his monologue by saying this:

“If your guy loses, bad things might happen, but the country is not over. And if your guy wins, the country is in no way saved."

I think this is a fair description:

On almost every subject, Ms Harris batted away policy questions and opportunities to push her plan for the White House in favor of slamming Donald Trump.
Ms Harris described border security as a “topic of discussion that people want to rightly have”, but then didn’t talk about it. She talked about Trump’s role in blocking Joe Biden’s border deal, and offered no solutions of her own.
She was then asked why voters do not trust her to tackle inflation, and she talked about Trump’s economic plan, not her own. A question about transgender operations in federal prisons produced a response about Trump.

Yes, Ms. Harris, the death of those innocent women is a tragedy. And, Ms. Harris, you are the main character in the murder of the young women.

A drama or literary work in which the main character is brought to ruin or suffers extreme sorrow, especially as a consequence of a tragic flaw, moral weakness, or inability to cope with unfavorable circumstances.

Are the murdered women tragic figures? Did the murdered women have a tragic flaw? No.

Are the murderous illegal aliens tragic figures? Are they experiencing extreme sorrow? No.

That leaves Ms. Harris who must now admit that she, having the inability to cope with the unfavorable circumstances of her failed policies, could not even bring herself to apologize expressing her extreme sorrow to the murdered women's mothers. Shameful.

Ms. Harris' tragic flaw? Incompetence.

Except that she wasn't the border czar, nor was she the president. In the Senate that failed to pass legislation, she could only be a tiebreaker.

I am sympathetic to the rights having to stretch the truth to find faults with Harris when their candidate is a disaster waiting to happen.

The View laughingly suggested Harris should have danced through the 26 minute interview, because that's what conservatives like...

Except that she wasn't the border czar

Axios in April 2021:

Why it matters: The number of unaccompanied minors crossing the border has reached crisis levels. Harris, appointed by Biden as border czar, said she would be looking at the "root causes" that drive migration.

BBC in March 2021:

Announcing Ms Harris's appointment as his immigration czar, Mr Biden told reporters and officials at the White House: "She's the most qualified person to do it, to lead our efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle [Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador], and the countries that are going to need help in stemming the movement of so many folks - stemming the migration to our southern border".

I suspect that you had no problem with this language back in 2021. It's odd that you're trying to pretend like it wasn't a thing now.

I am sympathetic to the rights having to stretch the truth to find faults with Harris when their candidate is a disaster waiting to happen.

Likewise, I am sympathetic to your gaslighting attempts since the disaster at the border was severely exacerbated by the foolish rescinding of countless EOs that resulted in arrivals QUADRUPLING under the Biden/Harris administration.

Stop trying to distance her from Biden. It’s disingenuous.
