Flat Earthers: What They Believe and Why

Your husband has a telescope and "sadly" believes in a globe earth. Yet you don't seem ever to question why he, and billions of others, believe in this.

No I don't understand why the masses believe in such a lie.

I guess it's true what they say 'that if you repeat a lie often enough it becomes the truth' & 'the bigger the lie the more they believe it. ' Just like walking on the moon, another BIG LIE.

I cannot think of one that says that the earth is a flat disc. I tried doing a search in my bible software program for a verse that includes the words "flat" and "earth", and no verses were found. Perhaps you could tell me just one verse that says that the earth is a flat disc.

Is it brainwashing, or arrogance which produces the "everyone is wrong except me" attitude?
Is it wishful thinking that if you say, "yeah, they're lying" for long enough, the people involved will eventually admit to it?
Is it fear that keeps you from considering the evidence - or laziness which send you running to YouTube to try to find something that will refute it?
Or do you simply not realise that the things that you say make no sense at all? I asked you how deep the earth was and you said that the deepest hole ever dug was over 40,000 feet deep. Didn't you even read what you'd written? It is impossible to have a flat disc that is over 40,000 feet deep. You can't even draw/make one that is 40 feet deep.

I have considered this possibility, but what ever the earth is it does not rotate.

Why should I?
The information is out there; the biographies, the testimonies, the photos and films. If you choose not to believe them, that's up to you. If you dismiss them all - even the committed Christians - as liars; that's up to you. It will be you who has to answer to God for calling your brother a "fool", Matthew 5:22 - though actually you're calling him worse than that.

And demanding that someone show you evidence, or prove something, when you've already said that you have no intention at all of believing in a globe earth, is kind of dishonest. If I did spend days searching for the proof you want, you would dismiss it as fake. You'd have to do that because your bottom line is that you won't believe in a globe earth - "never have, never will."

As you have agreed that the Bible is not a science textbook, what is it talking about when it "mentions" earth.
When I look up "earth" in a concordance it has verses like, "the earth is the Lord's", "there will be water over all the earth", "you are the salt of the earth", "the kings of the earth rise up" etc. etc. There is nothing which says, "I have created the earth to be a flat disc."

You have just agreed that the Bible is not a science textbook. It was not put together to teach the shape of the earth, how it works, its position in space and so on.

As I said, show me a verse which says that humans have a brain and describes how it works.

Yes, you do.
You tell us "show me where the Bible says the earth is a globe" - so you show us where it says that it is a flat disc.
You, and others, talk about us not believing Genesis 1, so show us how we don't believe it.
You've said, "I believe the earth is flat because God tells me that it is", so show us where he says that.

It's not the truth.
You have no evidence at all that men who say they walked on the moon are deliberately making up a false story - that Christian astronauts are lying, on purpose. Claiming that someone is lying without having evidence is just empty words.
