  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hundreds of national security officials, ex-Cabinet members, Gold Star families endorse Trump
Trump endorsed by 400 foreign policy, national security officials from previous GOP admins.
More than 400 national security and foreign policy officials, ex-Cabinet members, retired military officers and Gold Star families endorsed former President Trump on Thursday.

In an open letter organized by former National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien and former NSC Chief of Staff Alex Gray, the signatories condemn the "repeated failures" of the Biden-Harris administration's foreign policy and urged Americans to re-elect Trump.

"From a world at peace under President Trump, we are closer to a third world war than ever before under the Biden-Harris Administration," the letter states. "With multiple escalating wars around the world, an open border that allows terrorists to flood into the American homeland, and malign actors like China operating unabated, U.S. national security has been profoundly damaged by the failed policies of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden."

The endorsement was signed by several prominent officials from the Trump administration, including former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former Attorney General Bill Barr, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and former 2024 Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, and many more.

More than a dozen Congressional Medal of Honor recipients endorsed former President Trump in the 2024 presidential race.

"We, 15 recipients of the Medal of Honor, having served this great nation in wars, support and endorse Donald J. Trump for President of the United States," they wrote.

The recipients include those who have served in Iraq, Afghanistan and Vietnam.
"We believe that American citizenship is a revered privilege. We believe that a patriotic nation is a strong nation. We believe that the sacrifices by the men and women in our armed forces preserves and protects American freedom," they wrote.
"We believe that the integrity of our institutions is fundamental to the trust placed in them. We believe in the commitment to the United States Constitution and our solemn oaths to protect it. We believe valor is great fortitude when faced with profound adversity," they continued.
"We believe in the devoted pledge of allegiance to the United States of America. We believe that American veterans should be celebrated and supported by our nation," they wrote. "We believe that our nation must have borders secure from our enemies."
The recipients also said they believe in "protecting the right for all citizens to participate in free and fair elections."
The recipients also said they believe that "the enemies of freedom must be defeated," and that "the flag is a powerful symbol of freedom."
"We believe the United States of America is the greatest nation the world has ever imagined. We believe in mutually pledging to every American our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor," they wrote.

"We believe in Donald Trump."

Haley and Barr have obviously cone back to the fold for some personal advantage. When they turned against him they were honest.
Not sure what Pompeo's game is.
Do the rest have a lot of Halliburton and Boeing stock? Or maybe oil? They must think they can make money if he wins.

Why do you have a very negative and critical response whenever someone important endorses Donald Trump? Do you really believe that people cannot have good, honest, and noble reasons for endorsing Trump over Kamala Harris? May I ask if you also have a negative opinion concerning the Medal of Honor winners and the gold star family members whom are endorsing Donald Trump over Kamala Harris?

TBT, I cannot understand how a single person in our country can support Donald Trump.

And that opinion is shared by almost every one of my friends.

It is really disappointing when the Trump supporter is someone for whom we had higher expectations, less with strangers or acquaintances.

I go back through my voting history. I really liked George HW Bush, Dole, and of course McCain so I had no trouble with differing opinions. Less so with Reagan, younger Bush, Romney--but each one of them was far, far better than DJT.

There are so many Republican choices, not many I would support, but except perhaps for George Santos I couldn't picture a worse choice.

I speak for many. I'm sorry, but it's true.

I have the same thoughts about Joe Biden and also Kamala Harris. I do not have any friends who are going to vote for Harris, and I really do not understand why any Christian would vote for her. However, one of the great things about our freedoms here in America is that ALL of us have the freedom to choose for ourselves whom we are going to vote for in each and everyone of the elections throughout all of the different levels of government.

But do you really think that out of every Democratic leader in the country Harris and Biden are the worst?

That's where we are.
In my honest opinion, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are not the real leaders of the Democratic Party politicians.

Well, I think it’s well known that Corporations and Wealthy business leaders are the influencers behind Congressional votes. They are the real leaders behind both parties.

No doubt mass migration is taking it's toll on our country ... a Harris administration would be no different than the Biden administration in regard to mass migration. Harris said herself that nothing comes to mind that she would change from the Biden administration.

So her mantra on "change" in regard to many things falls on deaf ears for many.

Biden has been trying to pass tough bipartisan immigration legislation for a year, but Trump is blocking it.
These last twelve months of what Trump terms Open borders is on him.
If he cared about the alleged threats to you, he would want to end it immediately.
But instead he fear-mongers to get your votes for a problem he prefers to continue.

It hasn't been a year and Biden reduced arrests at the border by 40% with an executive order. He didn't need a bill and he could have done it 3 and 1/2 years ago.
He only admitted there was a problem at the border because he was close to an election

Trump couldn't block it. He's not a member of congress.

One thing you.are missing is that just because Biden was trying to pass legislation doesn't mean rhe legislation was good legislation. It wasn't. It was a bad bill and both Republicans and some Democrats realized it and wouldn't pass it. This is not unusual in Congress. Bills addressing a specific issue often don't get passed because there are things in it that are bad. It was a bad bill and that's why it didn't pass.

Oh, so everything that has been said about "open borders" is a lie. Biden has done what he can to close them, given Republican refusal to pass an additional funding bill.
Thanks for clarifying this.

Thanks for cherry picking my post and leaving out relevant information
He could have done this 3 and 1/2 years ago and slowed down the invasion at the open borders. He only acted because it was close to the election

What have they done to close them? Put forth a failed bill? What else?
BPPLEE said Biden signed an executive order and successful crossings decreased 40%.
