The Biden campaign was doomed by that debate. But hes still got plenty of brains left to be president for a few months. People forget that most of that debate went ok. Perhaps Biden should have adopted Trumps tactic of not caring at all about coherence or being on topic and just blabbed on about whatever rather than making the effort at a rational train of thought.

As for HISTORY, Biden is currently in much better mental shape than Reagan was at the same point in his last term.

The headline - that Biden is losing it isn't remotely the "biggest scandal in modern American history." Iran Contra was bigger and more substantive. Trump's 2020 election fraud was bigger and more substantive. Depending on how you want to define "scandal," the fact that Saddam didn't have WMD's was WAY bigger and more substantive.

It's hard to argue that this is a scandal when everybody knows what the deal is with Biden, is working around it, and is running out the clock. Guy's got 3 months left in office.

That was a scandal and not just an error. Intel had huge doubts about the WMD and Cheney was constantly running over there to make darn sure those doubts stayed in the office. End result - thousands of American dead, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis dead, lifetimes of additional suffering all around, and Iraq pretty much in the Iranian sphere of influence.

OK "scandal" might be too small a word.

Even if it was a scandal, it wouldn't be the biggest in modern American history.

Iran-Contra, intelligence justification for the invasion of Iraq/Palme affair, the Watergate burglary, the Pentagon Papers, the FBI COINTELPRO document theft, Abu Ghraib prisoner torture, CIA MKUltra experiments, Japanese internment camps, the Clinton impeachment, both Trump impeachments, Snowden NSA leaks, seven decades of regime change by various TLAs, supporting death squads in Central & South America.

These are scandals.

The Democrats replacing an unpopular presidential candidate with another is not a scandal. The Vice President not exercising the 25th Amendment is not a scandal. Just because Biden suitability as a candidate is poor, it doesn't mean that he's in any way incapable of filling his current role in office.
