Is "I Am", a title or the name of God, in the new testament?

John 8:58 is a passage where "I Am" is used and many Christians believe it is a proof text for the deity of our Lord, Jesus Christ. I am inclined to agree that it may be.

58 εἶπεν Said αὐτοῖς to them Ἰησοῦς Jesus ᾿Αμὴν Amen ἀμὴν amen λέγω I am saying ὑμῖν, to you πρὶν Before ᾿Αβραὰμ Abraham γενέσθαι to become ἐγὼ I εἰμί. am. [Interlinear translation from the Greek text of Westcott and Hort]​

58 And Jesus said to them, Believe me, before ever Abraham came to be, I am. {Knox Bible]

There are other passages where the same Greek words, ἐγὼ εἰμί, are used. It may be interesting for readers to research them and see if any or if all of them suggest the use of a Divine name.

"I Am" ( more acuratly " I Am what I Am")is the ultimate identifier of the Divine and essence of God or the actual word " God" or YHWH. Technically, YHWH is not a name. Jesus Christ of Nazareth is His name. He is " I Am" in the flesh. In Isaiah 9 there is a list of names that He will be known by but ultimately His name is Jesus or Joshua or Emanuel( God with us) etc. depending on one's language.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of peace.

I have always understood this to be Christ saying, I am the "I AM" from the burning bush etc.
