Just how far reaching will be the scope of private investigation into how we conduct our affairs?

How safe do we conduct ourselves, could that be extended to include making sure we all have fire extinguishers and up to date smoke alarms, and a first aid kit, as well as all knives stored safely in the kitchen block?

I saw the 15 sec clip that was described in the title. She did indeed say that it would make sense to come into people's homes to inspect their gun safety. But the legislation this was connected to passed, and there were no such inspections. That would surely have required additional legislation, much like the rules that allow the State to come into my condo to inspect smoke detectors. I'm reasonably sure no such legislation was proposed, nor have I heard anyone propose it. So this seems to have been a badly worded statement about the balance between people's right to own guns and society's right to expect them to handle them safely.
