  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Kamala Harris clearly won debate over Donald Trump but VP got no bump from voters after performance: poll

I think the thing is that Harris didnt win the debate on substance st least not by much. It was mostly on style.

Yet if he had won on style, would there be any doubt that his legions of sycophants would still take it as clear evidence of his god-like powers and greatness? As he (and you, and I, and everyone) would no doubt agree, a W is a W. There are no asterisks placed into the history books alerting readers *did not win on substance, only style.

It think that the NYT is slightly more credible than your poker player.

Results of a nationwide New York Times/Siena College poll of 2,437 likely voters, including a poll of 1,082 voters in Pennsylvania and Philadelphia, conducted from Sept. 11 to 16, 2024.

I love it when people are smug about things they obviously didn’t read closely.

When you follow my Nate Silver link and click the link at the top about Harris’ numbers in PA, it brings you to the NYT article about that exact NYT/Siena poll:

The poll page to which you linked is for the nationwide numbers. I specifically mentioned her PA numbers. If you follow your page’s link to the PA-specific polls, you get this:

Last I checked, 48 > 45.

I did enough research on you poker player to consider the source.

lol, no you didn't. You didn't research anything. You didn't read the posts in this thread; you didn't read the links within them. If you'd done any research at all, you wouldn't be making these comments. You're just doubling-down on your smug incorrectness. Your posts would make more sense if you were just trying to troll me into confusion.

In post 66, I only sought to bring up Harris' polls in Pennsylvania. That's it. And, for some reason, you keep coming at me with national polls as if that somehow debunks what I said about the PA polls.

If you wish to cling to his spin; that's your prerogative.

As I already noted, his "spin" is the very same NYT/Siena poll that you referenced. He's not spinning anything; he's just describing the results of the poll. That poll released both nationwide numbers and numbers for PA specifically. I'm talking about the PA numbers and you keep talking about the US numbers. Was there not 30 seconds of your research that clued you in to this?

Did you bother to read the top of that page?

Again, those are the NATIONWIDE numbers. When you click "Pennsylvania Toplines", you get the PENNSYLVANIA numbers, which have her up 48-45 in Pennsylvania, as I already pointed out.
