  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Abortion pills and medical negligence killed woman, not pro-life laws, doctor says

Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday amplified claims by several news outlets that a woman has died as the result of pro-life laws. But doctors say that the Georgia woman, Amber Thurman, died because of the abortion pill and medical malpractice.

ProPublica’s disputed report claimed that Georgia’s restrictions on abortion delayed access to medical care, causing the death of a woman named Amber Nicole Thurman. Thurman died at age 28 in 2022 after being hospitalized due to an infection after she took abortion pills, according to the report.

Thurman received the abortion pills out of state in North Carolina because she was more than six weeks pregnant, the report says. Georgia law limits abortion after six weeks, but Thurman was about nine weeks pregnant when she procured the chemical abortion, according to the Washington Examiner.

These kind of stories are sickening.

In post-abortion ministry, I saw the after effects of clinical abortions on women of conscience, and they're bad. Very bad.
To be able now to do an abortion at home alone with pills? Sounds like an absolutely horrendous ordeal to me.

It is no wonder to me, why we have so many emotionally and mentally ill women in America ...

Until a few months ago I didn’t even know chemical, do-it-yourself-home-abortions were a thing.

Sometimes it seems like the less you know, the better you are. There are some "birth control" methods I had never heard of before until just a few months ago & I feel worse off knowing it. Accepted as just 'daily life by the lost

Georgia's abortion law is not responsible for the deaths of Amber Thurman and Candi Miller, according to pro-life medical professionals and experts pushing back against a recent claim made by Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris.

Following a Monday report by ProPublica, Vice President Harris asserted that the 28-year-old woman's 2022 death is a "consequence of Donald Trump's actions," referring to the former president appointing U.S. Supreme Court justices voted to return the right to states to pass laws regulating abortion in 2022. Georgia Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock also wrote in a Tuesday X post that "abortion bans have fatal consequences."

In a statement provided to The Christian Post, the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists noted that Thurman died despite taking the abortion drugs as instructed and seeking help when complications arose.

First of all, Kamala Harris didn't make this claim.

The Georgia Medical Committee tasked with finding the root cause of hospital patient's deaths did.

The committee said the death was "preventable". The committee placed the blame on the vagueness of the Georgia law.

Now, you'll forgive me if I take the word over the medical committee over the word of "pro-life medical professionals and experts".

Or maybe you won't, honestly, I no longer care.

There is so much smoke and mirrors with this kind of stuff. Not only does this article expose the falsehood of national ban, but also many democrats will talk about how unpopular pro life is in America. So if a vast majority are opposed to banning Abortion, then what is the problem with these same people voting that way state by state? They make no sense, it should not be a problem then?.

Read Harris' facebook page. She did make the claim.
The women need real support and care, not that killing their babies is an option.

Both sides failed this woman.

May she rest in the peace of the Risen Christ.

The loss of Georgia mothers Amber Thurman and Candi Miller are a tragic example of the very real dangers of chemical abortion and a shameful manipulation of the facts to undermine pro-life laws.

As a pro-life American, I am angered that these stories are being used as political fodder to falsely target Georgia’s “abortion restrictions” and incite further division around the issue of abortion.

Women deserve so much better than abortion. There are so many more options available. :(
