  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Kamala Harris clearly won debate over Donald Trump but VP got no bump from voters after performance: poll

Agreed. After decades of service, he definitely deserves it. :)

He did not age well, I am sorry to say. It's sad, really.

If debate "performance" was also weighted by such a factor as "moderator behavior", my perspective as an Independent is that Trump did no worse than a draw. Without this factor, yes, Harris won--but dishonorably so. I imagine that Harris would have crumpled if she had had to contend with a 3-on-1 scenario.

If he is really that sharp does that mean he was faking his incompetence to overthrow the Primary election to put Harris in?

Are you saying that Biden had a plan to overthrow Democracy?
You’ve gone off topic!

Donald Trump, Kamala Harris neck and neck in Michigan, but top issues favor the GOP: new polls

Five percent say the debate moved them from Harris to Trump, with 3% going in the other direction.

Trump gains competitive edge with independent voters in Minnesota despite Walz being added to Harris ticket

The Land of 10,000 Lakes may not have seemed like an electoral battleground when the state’s governor got picked for the presidential ticket.

But now it may be a different matter, per a MinnPost-Embold Research poll, which shows the narrowest gap in any Minnesota survey between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, who picked favorite son Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate.

And independent voters are the reason.

Harris leads by just over 4 points, 48.8% to 44.6%, which is an even narrower margin than the 5-point lead she had in a poll a Minnesota TV station released two weeks ago.

New Yahoo News/YouGov poll: After debate, Harris surges to 5-point lead over Trump among registered voters in head-to-head matchup

A strong performance in Tuesday’s debate has boosted Vice President Kamala Harris to her biggest lead yet over former President Donald Trump, according to a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll.

In previous Yahoo News/YouGov polls — one following last month’s Democratic National Convention and one released immediately after the vice president entered the race on July 21 — Harris and Trump were effectively tied. Harris’s best showing was a narrow 47% to 46% edge in August.

But the new poll of 1,755 U.S. adults — one of the first conducted after the Sept. 10 debate — shows Harris (50%) surging to a five-point lead over Trump (45%) among registered voters in a head-to-head match-up.

Harris debate performance not enough to beat Trump’s edge in southern battleground state: poll

Vice President Kamala Harris’ victory in Tuesday’s presidential debate did little to convert voters in North Carolina — a new poll indicates Donald Trump may have even gained ground in the battleground state.

Trump edged out Harris 48.4% to 46% among likely voters, according to a Trafalgar Group poll released Saturday.

We can see here why Trump doesn’t want to risk another disastrous debate with even less time to recover before the election. These are razor thin margins for the supposed greatest republican president ever.

Are you quoting Trump again?
If he did so well and is so beloved and had such a successful first term and Biden and Harris have done such a terrible job and things are so bad right now, why aren’t his polling numbers not exploding upward?

It could also be asked, "If he had such a terrible first term and Biden and Harris have done such a great job and things are so great in the country and the world, how did Trump manage to become the republican candidate without even attending any of the primary debates? And how is it that he is giving Harris a run for her hundreds of millions of dollars in money if he's so terrible and she's so great?"

Because it’s become a cult.
Sounds like if people can see through the charade of the Biden admin., there must be something wrong with the people that see through it, and they must be given a derogatory label in order to discredit them.
Is that really the way you want to fight this battle?

I think it’s too early for any good post-debate poll results to have come in yet.

Kamala Harris gets no bump from debate, ABC survey shows

Voters aren’t any more likely to back Kamala Harris even if they think she won last week’s debate, a new ABC poll shows.

latest ABC News/Ipsos survey

Should we keep waiting? Will the results that you project come before the Great Pumpkin rises?

It was what I had expected for a debate being hosted by Liberals.

Still Trump walked away with the real prize. Votes are more valuable than bragging rights.
Winning a debate doesn't qualify you to be president.
