  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Democratic presidential ticket of Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is embracing "extreme" positions that will push more Hispanic and Latino voters to vote for Republican former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, prominent Hispanic Christian leader Samuel Rodriguez believes.

Rodriguez, a California pastor who leads the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, published an op-ed in Fox News titled "5 Ways Harris, Walz push Latinos to Trump and could hand him the White House."

"The Democratic Party's misunderstanding of the Latino voter remains evident," he wrote. "For years, we have tried to convey that their extreme, progressive, hard-left policies do not resonate with our community."

I can't see them flocking to the candidate who wants to set up deportation camps and close off pathways to citizenship.
As for Walz, whose state has become a model of how progressive policies make for happy families and happy businesses, he is many things--teacher, soldier, leader, loving father and husband--but unlikeable's not one of them.

The social and cultural values of the Democratic Party don't resonate with the family, and religious values of the Hispanic immigrants who have legally come to the USA. However, that lack of resonating with those values is something that the Democratic Party refuses to accept.

That is true. Most Hispanics are Catholic Christians, and the Catholic denomination is pro-life from womb to tomb. Now, both parties have their strengths and weaknesses, with strong points such as the left with stewardship of the Earth and the right with being pro-life, though, at the moment, Catholics tend to vote more conservative. Maybe 20-30 years ago the Democrats resonated more with the family, but not anymore.

2023 is when I finally realized the faults with the Democratic party, and so that is why I am gonna vote for a Catholic 3rd party. I am not Hispanic, so I can not speak for any Hispanics or Latinos on this.

43% of Latinos are Catholic as of 2022, according to Pew Research, my favorite survey organization:

For Hispanics who put forth the effort to immigrate to America legally, they would gladly see immigration enforcement for no other reason than that their efforts and integrity were not in vain.

It's more though. So much more.

The Democrats are doing exactly what led to the fall of Rome. I think it's intentional. I really do, I think they are taking the country down intentionally so globalism can take our place.

Not only in the US, but this is a global phenomenon. Look at what happened in France, the progressives put on a demonic show at the 2024 Olympics intro. The left almost shut me down for calling it out as demonic, so much so, I had to close my own thread down. One of the many reasons I have to go with 3rd party in '24.

The left hates America and all that it stands for. They even teach this garbage in schools. About how America is inherently racist to it's core, while simultaneously being the most free and welcoming county in the world. Go figure.

I agree. Wanna know something? Some anti-racism programs in schools have Racial Affinity Groups, where black students are separated from white students. 1940s segregation all over again, but this time, in the 2020s. Goes to show how the far-left is just as racist as the far-right, if not even more so.

  • In August 2020, Lewis & Clark College required incoming students to provide their race so the college could organize them into “affinity groups” for an event called “Engage for Racial Justice.”
  • In October 2021, Elizabethtown College held a racially segregated series for “people who identify as individuals of color” to explore the history of white supremacy and colonization.
  • Later that month, Harvard reserved “an exclusive space for Black-identifying audience members” at a performance of a reimagining of Macbeth.

Yep, the atheists wanted nothing to do with my thread, and called me out for posting it. I'm just a Christian man telling the truth, that we are in the End Days.

Enjoy the thread, and notice how certain groups supported the ceremony:

In the first place, every undocumented immigrant in the United States awaiting a determination on an asylum claim are people who have made the effort to enter legally.

That's what an asylum claim is, and there are a ton of them.

More immigration judges would shorten the process--but, oops, Republicans nixed that on the orders of their candidate.

Most Latino citizens I know had parents who came to the U.S. clandestinely in the 1980's. President Reagan, a conservative hero, granted them all amnesty---but their familial history was outside the immigration system.

The Latino citizens realize, of course, that their ancestors came "illegally" and were eventually met with conservative compassion.

They are probably horrified at the vicious inflammatory rhetoric, razor wire, family separation, etc. that current Republicans are employing today.
They are unworthy of Reagan's legacy.

What is unworthy of the legacy of the Democratic Party is the allowing of massive amounts of illegal immigration into the USA to such a huge extent that our nation's limited resources have been stretched beyond the breaking point.

Trump does not want to deport people who did it the legal way, but if you are here illegally then yes he wants to deport you and close the border.

Democrats tried to do something. Republicans blocked them.
Did they block them because they tried to get other things in there too both sides have been guilty of that more than once.

How about enforcement of immigration laws that all already in place as law?

As I said, given inadequate personnel resources to handle the influx, you can only do so much. Seeing the uptick in numbers we needed bipartisan support to hire necessary personnel.

There would not have been the explosion in numbers of the amount of massive illegal immigration if Joe Biden and Kamala Harris would have kept using and enforcing immigration policies which were being enforced by both the Obama and Trump administrations.
