  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Will Harris accept the challenge to debate Trump?

I just wanted to revive this thread for the lulz now that Trump did so poorly against Harris he’s refusing to do another debate at all.

If he wants to let “THEY’RE EATING THE DAWGS” be the last thing voters remember before Election Day then so be it.
What so wrong with Trump being done with debates? He's done 2 already, and interviewed with reporters, including the black journalist club to be ambushed by the same woman who "moderated" the last debate. Compare that with Kalama who only did an interview with Walz at her side, and then looked terrible at it even though it was CNN doing the interview. Still no substance from her either, even after that.

Thanks for reviving the thread that reminds us that Harris was the first one to refuse what would have been the second out of three presidential debates.

No problem. Let me know what you think of candidates refusing to debate their opponents. Looks pretty weak, right?

Harris refused a challenge. Now she wants a second chance. Trump isn't granting it.

If she runs for president in the next election, maybe she'll have learned not to run away from initial challenges.

No. She just owned Trump in a debate.
If that were true, she needed the help of her 2 friends, just as she need the help of Walz just to do a friendly interview.
All she did during the debate was make herself look silly with all those stupid expressions on her face, look dishonest with all the lies she told, handmade look ABC News look bad by letting them do her dirty work. All of which makes her look weak. Now, more people are going to question whether or not they want to vote for her when she looks so weak doing anything that doesn't involve a teleprompter.

Yes, that's your "reality". I suspect most of the 67 million people who watched debate will have a different take.

A quick google search would eliminate that suspicion. Give it a try.

Harris refused a challenge.
She’s challenging him now. What reason could he have to turn it down? What’s changed?

What ever happened to Mr “anytime anywhere”?

You mean laugh at all the stupid things Trump said? She was just reacting to his insanity along with the rest of us.

look dishonest with all the lies she told,
Which were fewer than Trump told.

I’m sure you held ABC in such high esteem before this debate.
All of which makes her look weak.

Lol ok.

That doesn’t really answer my question.

What do you think of a candidate backing down from a debate? Looks pretty weak to me.
I think she looked weak by not agreeing to the Fox debate. I was saying that at the time too.

He's already done it twice--once with each half of the biden duo. Joe went down in flames, and Harris needed a little help from her liberal friends.

He gave her an opportunity, and she ran away from it. He's not obligated to give her a second chance.

Personally, I think he should have accepted the offer, and said it will be on Fox this time, and will be under the conditions of his choosing after Harris and Biden both got what they wanted. It's only fair to see how Harris can perform in an environment where she's facing moderators who aren't liberals, and an audience that may be mostly rooting for the other guy. Could she handle it (without Tim Walz next to her)?

I agree and fully support this idea. Let’s all agree on a second debate on a network of Trump’s choosing. I think the American people at the very least deserve a second look at both candidates before the election.

Yeah and that was pretty lame of her. I hope Trump is at least a little braver and willing to take her up on her challenge to a second debate.
He's not obligated to give her a second chance.
No he’s not but I would think he might want to have another shot to clean up the mess he made of the first and only debate he’s had with a worthy opponent.
