  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Your will be done, on earth AS it is in heaven

Matthew 6:

10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
God rules the angels in heaven. Bad angels left heaven to run the earth. Satan is the ruler of the world. Jesus wanted us to pray for the second coming when people will obey the Will of God perfectly like the good angels in heaven. The prayer expresses a longing for that divine order to be manifested on earth. As Christians, we long for that second coming. Meanwhile, we should play our part to obey the will of God on earth.

Won't it be bliss to have the freedom to just let our minds meander to anywhere we wish, without the need to constantly guard against and battling the intrusive lies of the Enemy?

I kinda hope that in addition to being bound, he will also be gagged as well - the ultimate torment for the Father of Lies. He won't even be able to manipulate his fellow denizens in Hell anymore. Quite a demotion!

Definitely praying with you, Tony. I'm eager to witness the climatic final act in this temporal epoch of history - unfolding exactly as the ancient prophecies detail.

Speaking of the mind, I'm wondering if we'll have to carry any memories of the past (including the painful ones filled with regret) - or if we'll experience a fresh reboot (along with our new, undefiled names), seeing as at that time "the former things haved passed away." Rev. 21:4.

God bless us all!

This may be misplaced, but is "Peace on earth, good will towards men" meant to be Peace in earth, as in we believers being earthen vessels and the peace being Christ in us, because His first coming seems to confuse most of the world into thinking He came to bring peace when in fact wars have raged since He went to The Father.
Poorly written, I know, but am I right?

Thanks for the link, I left a reply there too.

Ok, I agree that whether we are cognizant of those in Hell or not, we will be able to handle the knowledge because we can rely on His promise that irregardless, this will be our experience - quoted again...

Revelation 21:4 NIV

"'He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Seems rather cold-hearted on our part to some. But a few things to consider...

Is man capable of a greater love than God? Do we mourn for the lost in Hell more profoundly than He does? "Mourn" one might decry, doesn't Scripture say that they will be tortured in the presence of the holy angels and the Lamb forever? Revelation 14:10. Can God love one and simultaneously pour out His wrath upon one at the same time?

Uh hmm... isn't that what He did to His own Son Jesus, in our place?

Did God not grieve over the puzzlement of His own Son being tortured in the fullness of His humanity? Was not God's heart crucified simultaneously on that cross with His Son?

And yet, in the ultimate demonstration of Love and Trust ever demonstrated, to Whose hands did Jesus, upon His last breath, commit His Spirit to? His Father.

So He can be OUR Father, too. Jesus literally and voluntarily experienced Hell so we wouldn't have to.

Anybody want to climb upon His cross and achieve better results?

Anyone who still objects about His Goodness and Love after witnessing what WE have all done to His Son, I figure still has a problem acknowledging God's sovereignty. Still occupying our makeshift throne in judgement over Him.

For those folks, God has a succinct response...

Job 40:8 NIV

"“Would you discredit my justice?
Would you condemn me to justify yourself?"

I figure the permanent unrepentant unbeliever is in for a shock when they are eventually forcefully removed from their imagined thrones above God. And I figure they still won't get it in Hell, gnashing their teeth in unending hatred of God - and His children who they failed to drag down with them.

As for the believer who has accepted Christ but is still struggling with God's sovereignty, He is calling us all to a deeper knowledge of Who He is, and a faith as powerful as the Shephard we follow. Laying down one's life, and picking up our crosses includes allowing God to be God - without any objections from us.

God bless!

BTW, according to Oxford, "irregardless" is not a word :)

Fellow English major, eh what?
No, I got my PhD in AI :) The "irregarless' was pointed out by my Grammarly.

Now, what is the difference between 'regardless' and 'irregardless'?
