  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

But wait…there’s more. Here’s a summary of Trump’s debate with the ABC moderators (Kamala was there too)

Tuesday's debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris was truly about the moderators. Nothing that was said by Trump or Harris was groundbreaking and both will be seen as winners by their respective supporters.

The real story is not how they articulated their policy positions, but how Trump was constantly fact checked while Harris was allowed to say abject lie after abject lie without any pushback from the moderators.

Lol no it wasn’t but I get the need to make it about anything other than Trump’s absolutely terrible performance.

Not sure how credible "not the bee" is, but CNN found 1 Harris lie v.s. Trump's 33. I do think it's possible that the fact checkers were so busy and exhausted trying to keep track of the number of lies per minute spoken by Trump, and if they were so distracted and bewildered by the sheer volume of his lies they may have missed one or two of Kamala's.

Notice how they're not complaining that Trump was lying about so much, just that he was being picked on for those lies by the mean mods.

The so-called "fact checkers" from CNN have a very clear progressive left wing liberal bias.
For facts apparently. That's not a good arguement for taking "right wing conservative bias" seriously.

What does this mean in practice? Are the facts different if you have a right-wing bias versus a left-wing bias? How does this bias change the fact-checking for the claim that "Haitian immigrants are trapping people's pet cats and dogs and eating them!" So far, no actual story of this actually happening has been produced. We've heard about geese in a park, but even that was sketchy, but as pointed out those weren't pets anyway, and certainly not cats or dogs. So how would a right-wing bias affect that fact-check?

The stuff about the Haitian immigrants is the only topic Trump should have stayed away from in last night's debate.

Not a need. Just pointing out the truth.

They didn’t mention how much Kamala lied, either.

CNN found what it wanted to find, so they only found 1 lie by Harris.
But Harris actually told 25 lies: 25 Lies Kamala Harris Told In Her Debate Against Trump

It was more like, "Trump, why are you so evil? Vice President Harris, Trump said some evil thing about you. How do you respond to his evilness?"

But...but...the "fact checkers" told me to believe otherwise. So I have no choice but to believe them.
They're the "experts". If we don't just repeat what they say, we're spreading "misinformation", and "attacking a woman of color". But if they do a 3 against 1 ambush against Trump during the debate, it's called "holding Trump accountable" and "protecting democracy".

Maybe. Maybe it'll turn out to be an actual thing. Wouldn't be the first time.

Ah yes, the new edition from the people who brought us “pizzagate” and “Obama is a secret Kenyan”.

Can't this be summed up in Kellyanne Conway's term "alternative facts?" For those who believe the alternative facts, anything that deviates from them will be deemed a lie.

Alternative facts like how Kamala was never in favor of banning fracking? How things have been better while Kamala has been in office? Or how the border is secure thanks to Kamala?
