  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Could child tax credit plans help more couples embrace life?

child tax credit
A mother feeds her newborn child, after giving birth in the Family Birth Center at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich., Feb. 1, 2022. Vice President Kamala Harris has suggested a robust increase in the child tax credit, while Ohio Sen. JD Vance has floated a similar proposal; some pro-life leaders say the initiatives, if passed by Congress, could help reduce poverty and aid some low-income parents in choosing life. (OSV News) — As the U.S. presidential race accelerates toward a Nov. 5 ballot box battle, candidates continue to jostle for American approval through their respective abortion and reproductive health policy scenarios.

While pivoting positions may leave voters with a case of political vertigo, Democrats and Republicans alike share promotion of the child tax credit as a family-friendly party plank.

Harris-Walz plan

Vice President Kamala Harris — the Democratic presidential nominee — has suggested a robust increase in the child tax credit, a federal tax break that currently provides up to $2,000 per child to about 40 million American families every year. With the Harris-Walz plan, parents could receive $6,000 per child for the first year after birth and $3,600 per year for every qualifying year after that.

In the 1980s this was a Republican idea pushed by Rod Grams with bipartisan support. It still has bipartisan support, even though the Dems insist the Republicans don’t care about children once born.

They only say that to ease their guilty conscience.

I don't think anything the pro-choice crowd says is relevant or should be taken seriously.

To me, they are all hypocrites. Plain and simple.

It is interesting they took away the tax saving incentives to be married.
Want abortions
Want child reprogramming and gender reassignments leading to sterility.

So their robust tax credit on the low birth rate, and Kamala wanting population control - doesn't really mean much.

Put it this way - yes it might help the sane folks who are pro life get ahead...

But the way they flip flop - and only say what is election good sounding with NO website to see their plans - I take it with a grain of salt.
Kamala has also been 'imitating' Trumps policies.
Denying everything she has already said because we're getting close to election time, and her real policies do not sound nor are they good.
