CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Who knows with Trump. A candidate and past president should be able to give a more professional and accurate speech. I think he just pulls things out of the air or reads too many conspiracy theories that are short on facts.

There are some things that children tell the counselor or nurse that are not shared with parents at least for some time. For instance, complaints of abuse. In that case we tell Child Protective Services or the police (or both) depending on the complaint. The child may confide that they feel they are the opposite sex. There has to be some confidentiality for the child to feel safe sharing. Eventually, the information is shared when the child is ready - and in the few cases I was aware of, the parents had already figured it out.
But no medicine such as puberty blockers or procedures are done. Where on earth would the school get the money for it? The school is not a hospital - there is no lab or exray or surgical suite or ability to sterilize anything. It is crazy talk.

Personally, I’d like a different t solution. Kids should feel safe I. Telling their parents about themselves but there are people posting in CF that I wouldn’t feel safe in talking to if I were their child. Putting a school in the middle of that probably isn’t going to help, unless it’s gone far enough to call CPS, assuming red states have such a thing. My parents were clear that they expected tgat I’d end up with ideas they disagreed with, and that was fine. That doesn’t seem universal.

I don't believe them. Legally schools need parent permission for any medication. There is NO capiblity to do surgical procedures.
Listening to a child discuss his or her feelings is just that. The counselor or principal cannot authorize name changes or sex changes and it is up to the parents who should be talking to their doctor and should have a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist involved. It is a very long process.

Then why do you think he said it? Trust me, he's not the satirical type. Here he is again saying that he will revoke Biden's school policies on gender, 'which includes...ultimately performing surgery on minors'.
Does he think that's true? Does he know it's a lie but wants his supporters to think it is?

That is not fishing. Trump makes disliking him easy. The name-calling, the history of fraudulent behavior, the tone deaf comments, the self-grandizement, etc......there is a lot to dislike.
