  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A fisherman in a dinghy was slapped across the head by a whale's tail when he was fishing with a mate of his.

The location was off Tweed Heads somewhere which is a town on the border of New South Wales (NSW) and Queensland (Qld). Tweed Heads is in NSW and Coolangatta is it's twin town in Queensland.

The paramedics had heard of the occasional collision with boats but this was the first whale slap they had.

Even if they'd caught the whale, they wouldn't have been able to put him in the boot (trunk) of the car. Too big.

He'll have a fishy story to tell for a long time.

I guess we can say that this story is a real slap in the face to that fisherman. Prayers that he recovers.

I didn't realise the seriousness of his injury when it was first reported. The fisherman is still in hospital in a coma with a brain injury.

Dang man. We must pray for his healing, and for a swift recovery. I did not realize the seriousness either.
