  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I agree with #14

You were making a comparison between Harris/Biden and Trump. "But Trump" is a perfectly legitimate response.

It wouldn't have been a newsworthy story if Trump's lackies hadn't pushed their way past a staff member. But go ahead and keep ignoring the fact that his staff acted like jerks and he's yet to apologize for it or correct them.

thank you - what do you think about Harris and Biden completely ignoring them?

DOVER, Del. — President Biden on Sunday paid his respects to the 13 Americans killed in last week's suicide bombing in Afghanistan as his military leaders tried to avert more carnage in the final days of a chaotic withdrawal from the country, carrying out a strike on a vehicle in Kabul that officials said posed a terrorist threat.

Biden flew to an Air Force base here to receive the fallen service members, whose remains were returned to the United States on Sunday morning. He first met privately with their family members, including some who have expressed anger at him, and then watched quietly as flag-draped cases transporting the bodies were carried off a plane — a somber moment during the most volatile crisis of his presidency.

Good, maybe this’ll be the grassroots groundswell that will be needed to change the Law so that Presidential Candidates can traipse through National Cemeteries for photo-ops!?
You know, Biden and Harris were invited too. I wonder why they couldn't make the time to travel ten miles to attend?

yeah why would they want nothing to do with a obvious photo op by trump?
Because the families invited them. That sounds like a good reason to put their hatred for Trump aside to support the families of the service menbers they had killed. Just imagine the opportunity Harris missed to show the public that she is willing to put aside politics to support the fallen. But I guess that is too much to ask.

Name one time he goes to a public event and there is not photographers -

Good grief, did no one listen to the families?
These were *his* people, not outsider photographers.

Yeah, you're right - they should have stayed with the ones who didn't give them the time of day after being responsible for their deaths. Sure - they would have felt much better.
I'm not saying they should back the president or VP. Or seek comfort from them. (I would gather that Pres. Biden did make the appropriate call to them 3 years ago.) If they want to seek comfort in Trump that is fine. I've got no quibbles with that or them. I am not bothered if they blame Biden. They have the right to be angry.

It is not their fault that Trump took advantage of them and their grief for political purposes. It is Trump's.

I can only imagine the threads that’d’ve spawned!

From the link:

In a video, Gold Star father Mark Schmitz, father of Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz, said they didn't invite Trump to the cemetery to "help his campaign."
"We wanted a leader," Schmitz said.
"How do you sleep at night knowing it was you, this administration, you and Biden, you, being the last one in the room, are responsible for the death of our 13 kids," Jim McCollum, Gold Star father of Lance Corporal Rylee McCollum, said in another video. "You have failed for three years and eight months to acknowledge our kids, to acknowledge me. You don't know me, you've never spoken to me, You've never reached out to me, you have failed in your duty as vice president."
Anyone catch that? Harris has never contacted them, acknowledged them or reached out to them.

While they were honoring those killed - Joe was on the beach once again and Kamala was less than 12 miles away in her mansion. Neither even thought of it, until AFTER it hit the media that Trump was invited.
Don't confuse them with facts.
