Dang, this song is too heavy for my tastes, but it does speak of purgatory, so the lyrics are Catholic, or even Biblical. If you want to talk with Catholics, as we are fellow Christians, feel free to join the Catholic section of Christian forums, and we will be glad to help. If Catholicism is too much, there are Anglicans that can help explain their faith, though Anglicans do not believe in purgatory. For myself, I am on the fence about that, but believe in Eucharistic miracles, which is a Catholic thing, cos I am Catholic.

Yeah it’s heavy. Don’t care for that style myself but it has purgatory written all over it. Presented as mortal sin though. Maybe that’s why the song sounds like anger and hell? Lol!

Haha, agreed with you on that. Most metal music kinda sounds angry and hellish, one of the reasons why it is not my flavor. I prefer slow worship ballads for Christian music, such as Chris Tomlin's music or Third Day.

You are welcome. Hey, we are all a mess, regardless of denomination. Just read some of my life anecdotes from my devotionals, and you will see how messed up I am, but God is helping me through those sins.

OBOB is a good subforum. You will like it, and you might like the Anglican and Orthodox forums as well. Catholics, Anglicans and Orthodox are very similar. Much more so compared to the Evangelicals, but we do not judge the Evangelicals (or try not to) .

Agreed. Metal does have a demonic vocal style, like on a scale of 0 to Musk wearing a Satan costume, it is a 12. Hence, why I stay away from metal, unless the vocals are non-screaming, and are soft. Even then, regular rock is better.

I like a lot of heavy metal but I’m pretty selective. Heavy metal is awesome with a classical orchestra but the vocal styles can turn me off depending. The op had great lyrics but I see it sung as a lamentation more than an anger anthem. As a lamentation it could be just stunning imo.

I disagree. Firstly, music qua music has no angelic or demonic qualities. It simply expresses what we intend. And those expressions are no more than conceptions/emotions we place on a series of notes. Secondly, metal as a genre of music is honest and straightforward. The demonic, by contrast, lies and acts like it is good when it isn't. Take a nice, jolly tune as background for a horrendous story, and that is much closer to expressing the demonic, imo.
