For me the
architecture is very interesting. I really did not expect anything at all like this before the tower of Babel. For me the math and geometry is consistent with the time period. People do not realize how close the connection is between math, science and art.
I am wondering whether the architecture is related to belief. They could have used smaller stones. It seems crazy to even try to use such heavy and cumbersom material. There is some geometry and astrology involved. They were looking to the skies like it was godlike and gave them energy or perhaps favor with the pagan god spirits that seemed to dictate their lives.
I tend to think that these are natural formations so they did not have to put that much work into cutting them. Also it is a lot easier to move a lot of weight than people realize. We see this with the guy who pulls a semi truck with his teeth. They did not have a wheel but they did most likely have logs they could roll things on. Or it could be there were a lot of people involved in the project.
Actually they have found evidence of the quarries they cut the blocks from. The cuts are like they were done with modern laxer cutters. They also fit together with paper thin gaps even on angles and shaped to the fit exactly. So some serious calculations, geometry and engineering going on.
It most likely was some sort of a trading post. Maybe like a flee market where different people can rent some space to set up and sell what they want to sell. There is a huge amount of bones so either there was a lot of food or a lot of furs to keep warm in the colder climate as they moved further north. It could be that people did the work just for the food to stay alive.
Actually I think the main structure found with the T shaped uprights and the various weird animals, reptiles and almost demon like figures may have been for religion. Perhaps there were animals sort of sacrificed but eaten. It does seem animals were held in high regard like they may have had spirits or certain animals represented good health and wellbeing.
It reminds me a bit of Stone Henge. The structure is impractical for living purposes and more symbolic of belief of some sort. A gathering place for some sort of worship. It seems stones, animals the sky and nature were worshipped like god spirits.
I think from memory they also found village like communities near by. As though they traveled from their dwellings to worship at these strange structures.
There are patterns that we can follow and they need to put the pieces together. For a dispensationalist where a day is equal to 1,000 years the dates line up fine.
I am not too interested in the specific of whether these were pre or post flood peoples. Well I am but not as much as understanding where they fit into our history. Göbekli-Tepe certainly throws a spanner in the works for hujman civilization pushing it back a few thousand years.
We were smarter than we gave credit. But we were also religiously advanced more than people have claimed in saying we were like dumb animal brutes back then.
I think it significant that we can find sophisticated religion and spirituality so early. It shows people knew God but had strayed away and were getting into alternative beliefs about nature.
In fact it seems that even today that people are reverting back to similar beliefs but more modernised. But basically pagan beliefs about nature, animals, the sky, stars, sun and moon like creation itself is god.
