  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I’m voting for Trump because he’s a white man.

Well, we can get rid of the term white, and just say, can't people in general (white, black, brown, Chinese-American, Jewish, Klingon-American), regardless of skin color support Trump?

Why does one have to be so obsessed in the melanin concentration, or lack thereof in one's skin? Already, the far-left is obsessed with skin color (just look at DEI in universities), and now it seems that Trump supporters obsess about skin color. If Jesus did not discuss skin color, then we Christians should not discuss skin color as well. So, if one does not want to even have any similarities with the far-left, then one must drop race from the conversation, and focus on merits instead.

(I am by no means a supporter of any of the two politicians we have in 2024, but was using that as an example)
It just describes someone’s skin color. That’s all.

True, but I couldn't care less if someone is white or not (in other words, I am colorblind to any ethnicity or race). I sense a hidden racial motive in this thread.

Anyways, I have to leave this thread and do more productive things such as work on a devotional, cos the absurdity that folks mention race (far-left and right) in 2024 is on another level.

Are you against all adjectives, or just color?

There’s no racial motive in this thread.

I’m sure this is tongue in cheek. ;)

The poster replied that he's voting for a white man because, as he put it, "I'm a white man." That's pretty straightforward.

It was ok when black people voted for Obama, and clearly based on race. It was celebrated: How People of Color Helped Obama Win Reelection

So why is it wrong for white people to vote for Trump on the same basis?

It is okay for white people to vote for anyone, as long as the person one is voting for has merit. If Trump has better merit, whites and blacks can vote Trump. If Kamala has better merit, whites and blacks can vote Kamala. If a 3rd party candidate has better merit, whites and blacks can vote for him.

If a white voter trusts a white person better, it is up to the voter to go for what he thinks is best, and if that candidate is white, then go right ahead.

As an American citizen living on Earth inside of an American town, I'd vote for whoever fits the bill, regardless of his or her color. My candidate that I am voting for is white, not cos his skin color is mine (brown guy here), but because he stands for my values as a voter, and is a Catholic Christian. Peter Sonski is a Christian and runs in the anti-woke, pro-life 3rd party, running for the American Solidarity Party.

Yes, anti-woke brown folks exist, but my skin color does not matter. Who knows, I could be a gray-skinned Cardassian working for the Dominion (Deep Space 9 reference).

I think he’s referencing to those voting for Harris because she is a woman, black, and Indian.

Kinda like how some people only voted for Obama because he is half black.

I'd go for merit too. If Ben Carson had been the Republican candidate, and Biden the democratic one, I'd vote for Carson.

I'd probably go for Carson as well. Or Romney, if Romney was still running. Cos Romney is not running, I will have to vote 3rd party for a guy who is fiscally center-left and socially conservative (as in, anti-woke), even though 3rd party does not have much of a history or line of merit, so to speak. :)

Merit is so important (along with a polite temper), it is those unspoken requirement that solidified me, at least for 2024, on the 3rd party. I'll be honest with you. I voted for Joe in 2020 cos I thought he was center-left, and then he started spreading woke crud a few years later as he moved farther left. First it was the Monkeypox pandemic of 2022-2024 (brought on primarily by gay promiscuity), then Biden trying to change Title IX for gender pronouns, then it was the Gender-Bender Day of Visibility on Easter, the most Holy day of the year for us Christians, and finally, it was his wife Jill endorsing the Demonic 2024 Olympics opening ceremony drag show.

That perverted stuff from the far-left turned me to the independents. Abortion is also demonic* (same thing as the child sacrifice to Moloch in Jeremiah 7:31). In fact, this Catholic Christian theologian put it bluntly:

Abortion is the Antichrist’s demonic parody of the Eucharist. That is why it uses the same holy words, ‘This is my body,’ with the blasphemously opposite meaning.” – Dr. Peter Kreeft

Source: "It's My Body": How Abortion is the Opposite of the Eucharist

*Am I allowed to use the term "demonic" here to describe the evil practice of abortion in the 21st century? I checked the rules here, and there are none that prevent me from saying that. As you are a mod, just making sure my disdain and complaints about the far-left has not gone overboard.

For his black half? Huh. Did some folks vote for Obama's white half?

Just did a Google search for "vote obama half white" and couldn't find anything. Replacing white with black, and plenty comes up such as this: https://www.jstor.org/stable/41674650
So it looks like it's his black half that attracted certain voters.

An interdisciplinary journal on multiculturalism titled Race, Gender, & Class is a legitimate source? Wow, you folks on the right are finally coming around to seeing the "woke" side of things. Interesting.

Maybe Coleman Hughes is right that proponents of critical race theory and white supremacists are in agreement that race is what matters most. Who knew, right?

In the '70s, something started brewing in the academy called critical race theory, the brainchild of Derrick Bell and Kimberlé Crenshaw, which basically agreed with the white supremacists on the fundamental idea that race is always going to be everything...
