  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A lawsuit filed against MorningStar Ministries earlier this month accuses founder Rick Joyner, along with several top officials of the organization and multiple other staff members, of gross negligence for allegedly engaging in the cover-up of multiple incidences of sexual abuse in the ministry.

A copy of the 40-page lawsuit, shared by The Roys Report, names as defendants: Joyner, MorningtStar Fellowship Church, Joyner's second in command David Yarns; the former volunteer, Erickson Douglas Lee; the volunteer's father and MorningStar Fellowship Church's head of security, Douglas Lee; Erickson Douglas Lee's assistant, Chase Portello; along with unidentified defendants James Smith 1-10 (any other agents and/or employees of the ministry associated with the complaint).

"The negligent, grossly negligent, reckless, willful, or wanton acts, omissions, and liability of Defendants includes that of their agents, principals, employees, and/or servants, both directly and vicariously, pursuant to principals of non-delegable duty, corporate liability, apparent authority, agency, ostensible agency, and/or respondent superior," the lawsuit filed on behalf of one of the minor victims, John Doe #1 and his parents listed as James Roe #1 and Jane Roe #1 charges.

Of course, it is the youth pastor again. Is it just a hunch, or is it that some people choose the role of youth pastor to get near minors? Gross...

Prayers that this man repents of his sins, and that the children are protected from creeps and will be shielded from SA.

No. Protestant.
But, but ... OK. I guess.

We were all raised on and indoctrinated to the belief that only Catholics are involved in sexual abuse by clergy types. It's SO HARD TO ADJUST to things being different than that.

Being an ex-Protestant myself, it does not surprise me in the least. It’s always been a big problem. It just does not receive the publicity the RCC does. There is not the checks and balances and hierarchy the RCC has.

Certain non-christian folks on CF seem to love posting articles about evangelical protestant youth pastors abusing children. To show they're the real threat as opposed to drag queens hanging out with kids.

I think groomers of any sort should be found out and resisted. Childhood should be a time of innocence, protected from evangelical youth pastors interested on pastoring themselves on their young flock, or Catholic priests who have vowed celibacy and chastity but have given it up for debauchery, or public school teachers who really like teacher's pet, or drag queens looking to normalize their behaviors in front of small children. Some states still bother to protect the innocence of children. Some denominations still bother to remove pastoral staff. Some are already too woke to care.

I'm wondering if you are saying Michie is non-Christian.

Lol no that wasn't my implication at all, although now I see how that came off. My bad. I just meant I've seen a number of these types of stories involving protestant pastors in relation to your statement of being "indoctrinated to the belief that only Catholics are involved in sexual abuse by clergy types".

Any occupation that puts one in a position of trust and authority involving children is going to appeal to a child molester. Teacher, tutor, coach, counselor, instructor, doctor, nurse, and even law enforcement.

I think drag queens don't really fit the profile as child molesters usually try to appear as normal, strait-laced and average to be inconspicuous. I think drag queens as you say are more into making children at home with LGBTQQIP2SA+ and more inclined to be a part of it.

The drag queens ARE attempting to normalize themselves to be looked at as normal, strait-laced and average to be inconspicuous. They renorm their category towards normality. It's just a different kind of grooming.

Yeah good point. Bizarre is the new normal.

It’s apparently more common among Protestants now.

Regardless of religion, it’s still disgusting.

This isn’t just in Churches. Take a good look at public schools, library programs, etc. it’s a plague across the world. Sex trafficking, etc.
Sickening. Waiting patiently for Christ’s return.

Yup. They should stay far away from children. In my opinion, there is nothing normal about it.

It’s always been an issue. It was just kept under wraps. Same as everywhere. I think there is more interest and curiosity about child sexual abuse now overall because of the internet and the underground porn being pedaled through sex trafficking.
