  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Former President Donald Trump appeared to suggest Thursday that he’ll vote in favor of a Florida ballot measure aimed at overturning the state’s six-week abortion ban.

“I think the six week is too short. It has to be more time,” Trump told NBC News when asked how he intends to vote on the November referendum. “I want more weeks.”

“I am going to be voting that we need more than six weeks,” the former president added.

The Trump campaign offered this 'clarification':

He also said today that IVF will be legal and paid for by insurance mandate or government.

I think pro-lifers are beginning to see his commitment---to winning no matter what it takes.

Trump’s Desperate Shift to ‘Pro-Abortion’ Backfires, Sparking Fury Among Conservatives:

Georgia conservative pundit Eric Erickson was quick to declare that Trump’s latest remarks could be the turning point in his campaign.

“If Donald Trump loses, today is the day he lost,” Erickson stated. He added that Trump’s intervention on Florida’s abortion policies could be the final straw for many pro-life voters who have supported him in the past.

Cole Muzio, head of the Georgia anti-abortion group Frontline Policy Council, labeled Trump’s stance as “completely and utterly grotesque and indefensible.”

Lila Rose, president of the prominent anti-abortion group Live Action, voiced her frustration, saying, “The recent statements that they have been making — increasingly pro-abortion statements — and the positions that they are choosing to take are making it untenable for pro-life voters to get out the vote for them. This is, unfortunately, the path that they’ve chosen.”

The problem with the pro-life crowd is that once they have caught the car, not only do they not know what to do with it, but they grow mad at you unless you help them hunt down an even bigger car.

On Fox News, Trump says he's a 'No' vote on the Florida referendum. He still disagrees with the 6 weeks, though.

Part of his 'reasoning' is the alternative fact that in some states you can still "execute the baby after birth."

But he has never changed his values. Just like Kamala!

His stance on abortion seems to change by the day. But that can be ignored to garner a few votes prior to the election - wink wink - because we all know what's in store should he win.

I'm coming to realize this about the pro-life industry. They don't really want to win.

Remember a while ago when Trump suggested that mothers who decide to have their children killed should be punished for it? Pro-life leaders went crazy that he was being way too harsh and demonized him relentlessly.

They don't really want to get serious about ending abortion.

It's almost like the pro-life industry is angry at Trump for helping to end Roe v Wade, because he took away one of their 'cars' that they would rather have kept chasing forever.

Like the establishment GOP, the pro-life industry just wants to keep their grievance business going where they perpetually complain about the "radical left" but don't ever genuinely try to seize political power and win.

Just like Kamala with the border wall - and banning fracking - and border control - and..... pot meet kettle! wink wink - because we all know what's in store if she wins. (gag reflex activated)

That being said -

Oh no's - Trump APPEARED TO SUGGEST! Stop the world! He appeared to suggest! Well that settles it! get the flames and pitchfork's!

The deflection to Harris and downplaying of Trump's statements is telling....

Certainly the pro-life organizations immediately did. And then Trump changed his tune.

“I am going to be voting that we need more than six weeks,” the former president added.

Now he says he will vote to keep the six weeks right where it is.

Maybe his endorsement will make this the first electoral victory for the prolife side post roe. Surely they can’t keep loosing them all, right?

Well, I am going to appear to suggest ... that is equivalent to a definite maybe. As for deflection, I am but a poor example compared to the Harris support team here on CF. They are much, much better equipped and versed than I could ever hope to be. Of course that is just me appearing to suggest that is happening IRL>

I think this is what people call a flip flop when a democrat does it?
