  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

By the time he was through, the 8000 seat Wilkes Barre arena was almost empty. One guest said in 2016 he put up a lawn sign for Trump. In 2020 he just voted for him.
After hearing his speech, he decided Trump would be a dangerous president.

If our founding fathers were so weak and scared, we would have never become a country.

Americans these days are a disgrace.

If our founding fathers were so weak and scared, we would have never become a country.

What makes him such a "dangerous president", is his very, very great lack of any kind of humility, and any kind of self-governance/self-control, etc, which is something all of our founding fathers had in very great abundance.

And Trump is nothing at all like them.

If he can't even govern his own self, then just what is it that makes you think he's qualified to govern/run our country?

It's his stupidity, and what is making him so stupid specifically, that makes him such a very great danger to everything and everyone and everybody. And it's not a kind of stupid that any of our founding father's ever had either specifically, etc.

If it's someone's stupid that is making them so very dangerous/unstable specifically, than that person should not ever be put in charge of anything ever really, etc. Let alone a country, etc. Let alone the most powerful nation in the world specifically, etc.

God Bless.

We don't need some reserved leader, like what other countries have, we don't need to feel safe and cozy - we need to get aggressive and act in our own best interests. And if my fellow countrymen don't want that, and won't allow it, then I don't want to be a part of this people.

If Kamala wins, I will forever hate my own country.

There was a time when Trump could read an audience. He seems to have lost that skill.

I don't like either option, and hate that we have this two party system that only gives us one of two choices/options only that are both equally extreme, and that are becoming even way very much more separated/extreme day by day, and I think there are a lot, lot better people out there who could get elected, but don't ever, and I will never come to hate any of the average Joe's or common citizens in my own country. I don't know if I'm even going to vote this time, etc. That's how disappointed/frustrated/fed-up with it I am. Neither should get my vote in my book.

God Bless.

There's a secret I might try to clue you in on if the censors allow it. We only have a two party system because voters think they can't vote otherwise. But you can. There are other parties out there you can vote for. There are other candidates. The big guys don't want you to know about your options. The big guys want to limit your options. The big guys want to convince you that you 'throw away your vote' if you don't vote for them. But you have options other than voting for Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. You can do it.

Other options who continue to waste their time being spoiler candidates, at best, because building a real party is BORING.

I feel the same way about his rhetoric, he needs to get off his talking points and talk about policy especially brush up for the debate.

Trump openly admits in his stump speeches that he is supposed to focus on policy, then makes light of it and launches into his own rhetoric. Frankly, I don't think he can speak to policy....beyond stating that he will "secure the border" and drill more domestic oil wells. As Trump tells it, all of the nation's problems will be solved if we address those two issues.

Landon, cool your jets. What you're saying here probably isn't the sort of thing any of the 1st century disciples of Christ would have said even in relation to the Roman government of their time.

What we should want, and need, are leaders in Government who are truly rational and wise---something we rarely see. Having power and backbone doesn't by any necessity translate to taking an aggressive, dominating, literally militant posture, and we shouldn't want to see any of our government leaders take a militantly aggressive posture in politics.

Out of 10 how much strength and courage does one need to vote for Mr Trump?

..."a dangerous president"

If our founding fathers were so weak and scared, we would have never become a country.

Americans these days are a disgrace.

Huh? They obviously had certain expectations of their leaders; that's why they revolted against the king. Washington saw the dangers in ceding power to one man, which is why he resigned his commission after the war and declined to run for office after his second term. Trump, OTOH, craves power and sought to defraud the nation and steal an election.

We don't need some reserved leader, like what other countries have, we don't need to feel safe and cozy - we need to get aggressive and act in our own best interests. And if my fellow countrymen don't want that, and won't allow it, then I don't want to be a part of this people.

Why do you and so many others see Trump as strong? He's loud, sure, but nothing about him communicates strength. Being whiny, temperamental, and petulant communicates weakness. Real strength is being smart and surgical, not boorish.

We have a two-party system because our first-past-the-post voting system naturally leads to such a thing. There's no way to be competitive if other parties are continually acting as spoilers.

I'd also argue that most third-party presidential campaigns in the US have been little more than vanity projects. If third parties wanted to be taken seriously, they'd do more to develop local and regional candidates and establish footholds at a smaller scale so they can actually accomplish things.

This is what you want for all Americans, while we suffer in misery.

Of course people know they can vote for other people. Just about every election has people of different parties other than R or D on it and most have a blank where you can write-in. It's not that people don't know they can, it's that they know with our first-past-the-post voting system it doesn't matter and they are throwing away their vote. Until we adopt something like ranked-choice voting no third-party candidate will have much of a shot at winning the presidency.

The best option is to push the DNC out of existence, by completely replacing them with a party that is actually for America and Americans...

...Because the Democratic Party seems to be owned by foreign governments.

Huh? You can vote, can’t you? The only people in that situation who could be described as being subject to “taxation without representation” are the illegal aliens not working under the table.

This is what you want for all Americans, while we suffer in misery.
What are you talking about? I’m pretty skeptical of most home ownership subsidies. And according to the article, this plan is already in place for legal citizens.
