Because, just as one face is blurred but observably smiling, there are no Trumpy scowls therein.

Besides, why are you so obsessed over what the audience's facial expressions are at a snapshot in time anyway?

For some people the difference might not mean anything. But given the crabbity nature of Trump's outbursts and the positive demeanor of Harris and other candidates, maybe it makes a difference.

One more (at least; she's in better focus than the others) than we see in Trump's sample. But notice for one, the speaker has a Trumpy expression, and the speaker in the other has a much friendlier face . So maybe just "follow the leader." And when one is very old and often confused, it's hard to keep smiling.

Is he really? You forget that she's now the one who wants to change the debate rules (again) by having open mics when it's not the other person's turn to speak. Of course, she hides behind the idea that Trump wants to "censor" her by having her mic muted when he speaks, but that certainly wasn't the narrative when biden wanted it for his own debate.
