  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That's how it works. Each side brings up the stuff they want. I usually backstop with Reuters which has a good reputation for neutrality and factual reporting.
Well at least you admit the mainstream media is in the bag for her. That's a start.
She's trying to help him. He's not listening, and making it worse for himself.
Maybe
No I didn't. That's why I said this.

Now that the DNC is going on, we.are starting to see a soft challenge. We'll see if the media goes further.
Let's see if they keep it up or drop it ASAP. My guess is the latter.

I just pointed out that it's not. Reuters is "mainstream media" like ABC and Fox News. Do you even read what other people write?

Haley's trying to help him. He's not listening, and making it worse for himself.

No "maybe" about it. His own people are frustrated that he can't do a public statement without going off message and sounding crazy.

They have to do something quickly.

Harris is now tied with Trump in North Carolina. And the window to fix it, is closing.

Blurred badly, but I see at least one smile, and no scowls of the sort we see at Trump rallies.
"Badly blurred", yet you saw what you wanted to see.

It's all that joy n' stuff...
And it's that about 2/3 of voters now say that they know what Harris stands for. Not surprising that as more people learn about her, she gets more approval. Nor is it surprising that she now has a 4% lead over Trump in the recent polls. And over 80% of democrats are happy with Harris as president.

It's not just Walz and Vance causing the big shift; it's Harris and Trump and what each of them is saying to the public, now. From the far-right Washington Examiner:

“A new Trump,” of course, is a punchline and has been a punchline since before the man was even sworn in. It’s the flip side of “the walls are closing in.” It expresses a desperate hope that something about Trump may change — even though nothing ever changes.

In those first 30 minutes, Republicans and observers had two reasons to believe they were looking at a new Trump this time. Most obviously, he had been shot and narrowly escaped assassination. Such experiences can change a man.

Also, Trump, in the first debate with President Joe Biden, showed unprecedented self-restraint. Biden was destroying Biden, and Trump just stood by and let it happen — without getting in the way.
...
That shocking display of self-control in the debate, combined with the sheer shock of getting shot and Trump’s softened demeanor in recounting the attempt, gave folks one last chance to think Trump was different.

Since then, and especially since Democrats subbed Kamala Harris in for Biden, Trump has continued to be his own worst enemy. Harris is taking the Biden 2020 approach of hiding in the basement and basking in media adulation, and Trump is attacking Georgia’s popular two-term Republican governor, adjudicating Harris’s blackness, parroting online theories about Biden’s devious plans to usurp Harris, and more.

Republicans could have nominated a normal conservative, and they would have had the upper hand. Instead, they nominated an incontinent narcissist who is acting the way you would expect him to act if he wanted to lose.

Those are his friends. Now think about what the average American voter thinks about this, and the mental state of the person who posted it:

"What are the chances that Crooked Joe Biden, the WORST President in the history of the U.S., whose Presidency was Unconstitutionally STOLEN from him by Kamabla, Barrack HUSSEIN Obama, Crazy Nancy Pelosi, Shifty Adam Schiff, Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, and others on the Lunatic Left, CRASHES the Democrat National Convention and tries to take back the Nomination, beginning with challenging me to another DEBATE."

"Weird" is inadequate for the stuff we're seeing from Trump now.

One smile comes out pretty clear. Not hard to find.
If you don't think it's clear enough, why did you present it here?

I thought it was plenty clear. I was quoting you as saying it was "badly blurred", and yet you still could make out the one smile in the crowd.

Ach, du Lieber! Woke! And she's just become black, according to whatsisname. "And it's on YouTube! It has to be the truth!"

Nice try, but a day late and a dollar short, as they say in Dallas...

You pointed out it was. You acknowledged that's how it works. If the main stream media is all in for Harris who would you say they are for? With the rare exception of course.

Of course I read what others write. That's how I know.

Yeah, he's not listening. Whether or not that strategy works we'll find out. I honestly think Trump is making mistakes tight now. He isn't focusing on things that would help him. But that's on him.
No "maybe" about it. His own people are frustrated that he can't do a public statement without going off message and sounding crazy.
Yes maybe. But we would expect a close race when one has nearly the entire media and social media backing you up.

Sounding crazy is your opinion. And of course the main stream media.

Low information voters thats for sure.

Government giveaways-yes please
Price controls-yes please

Yet she doesn't have to defend herself at all for the mess at the border. Doesn't have to defend her stealing Trumps ideas. Doesn't have to defend the vote for the inflation reduction act, which actually helped raise prices. Doesn't have to defend herself on food price controls.

Walz Doesn't have to defend his draconian unfair lockdowns while letting Minneapolis burn. Doesn't have to defend his killing of people in nursing homes or wildly liberal abortion stance where babies who were actually out of rhe womb and left to die on the table. Or be challenged on his bailing on the military deployment etc.

Harris' camp has said they will do one interview this month. At the end.

So it's pretty easy to say voters really know, when the candidate has had no challenging interviews, no debates and a friendly media supporting her.

Do they really know? How can they?

No, and I showed you that the "mainstream media includes sources to the right, to the left, and a good number in the middle. Why would you even bother denying it? Should I show you, again?

If the main stream media is all in for Harris who would you say they are for?
Fox News, for example, is main stream media that's all in for Trump. Reuters stays neutral, relative to Fox and CNN. C'mon. It's not mainstream media that's killing Trump. It's Trump. They're just writing down what he says.
But we would expect a close race when one has nearly the entire media and social media backing you up.
As you know, that's not the case. Or are you now claiming that Fox News is backing Harris?

Low information voters buy into lies.

Yeah, like that. Trump gave himself and his friends a huge tax giveaway. And Trump's notion that he can just impose price controls...
Americans crave pre-Covid prices. Former President Donald Trump is promising to make them a reality.

“Prices will come down,” Trump told voters during a speech last week laying out his vision for a return to the White House. “You just watch: They’ll come down, and they’ll come down fast, not only with insurance, with everything.”

...is a foolish dream. And it would backfire, even if Trump could impose that kind of price controls. The low-information Fox News people might buy it, but I think even they're smarter than that.

Yet she doesn't have to defend herself at all for the mess at the border.
Probably because she wasn't in charge of border security. As you know, the Border Patrol Union agreed with Biden that they needed more officers to keep people from entering illegally. Trump ordered republicans in the House to kill it. And so they did.

I expect she'll be beating Trump over head regularly, with that one.

Walz Doesn't have to defend his draconian unfair lockdowns while letting Minneapolis burn.
I was there not long after. It didn't burn. But I did note that the police managed to catch a lot of the perps who tried to start that kind of thing. And, not surprisingly, they were mostly far-right white nationalists. As Sheriff JB Smith once noted, the nice thing about criminals is, they usually aren't very smart.
Doesn't have to defend his killing of people in nursing homes
Sounds terrible. But unless you can show that he did that...
or wildly liberal abortion stance where babies who were actually out of rhe womb and left to die on the table.
That's outlawed in Minnesota.
Or be challenged on his bailing on the military deployment etc.
He submitted retirement before anyone knew there would be a deployment. Did you really fall for that story without checking?

Hardly a word on topic here. Just saying . . .
Sorry... let's take a look...

The bleeding for Vance seems to have slowed. He's only fallen by 1% since the middle of August.
1724280858929.png

And Walz hasn't changed since mid-August:
1724280960710.png

Vance is down by about 14.5%, relative to Walz. And it hasn't changed much in the last week or so.

He's the guy who mocked a professional wrestler about being a fake, after which the wrestler knocked him around, and he filed a lawsuit.
Stossel also did a show whining about how people do stupid things and then sue when it goes badly for them. So yeah, that's a reputation.

Enjoy the Kool-aid.

He didn't promise price controls. And priced coming down would be good not bad. That article is misleading. We've already had huge inflation under Biden. Being able to get costs down to the level they should be ad healthy growth is good not bad.
Probably because she wasn't in charge of border security.
She was tasked with fixing the issues. She didn't.
expect she'll be beating Trump over head regularly, with that one.
Funny thing is no one has been able to produce this so called order from Trump. I hope he asks her to produce it.

It didn't burn.
Really. There were 164 structure fires from arson during the riots. And Walz wife left her windows open so she could smell the burning.
Sounds terrible. But unless you can show that he did that...
Of course we can. In May 2020 78%of rhe COVID deaths in Minneapolis were from nursing homes where Walz sent COVID patients.
That's outlawed in Minnesota.
From.2019-2022 there were eight cases of aborted babies who survived and then were left to die. Now Walz wants to cover that up and so created a law where that stuff no longer gets reported. So now it can happen all the time and no one has to know.

But of course NONE of any of that will be answered for by the Harris camp.

He promised to bring prices down immediately. Price controls on steroids. C'mon.
And priced coming down would be good not bad.
Look up "deflation." You have no idea.

Probably because she wasn't in charge of border security.

She was tasked with fixing the issues.
She had no responsibilities at all for border security. One is a victim only as long as one doesn't check what one is told. Think about it.

As you know, the Border Patrol Union agreed with Biden that they needed more officers to keep people from entering illegally. Trump ordered republicans in the House to kill it. And so they did.

I expect she'll be beating Trump over head regularly, with that one.

Funny thing is no one has been able to produce this so called order from Trump.

Trump brags about efforts to stymie border talks: ‘Please blame it on me’

The Republican front-runner slams bipartisan talks in the Senate for a deal as Biden calls for emergency authority to address surging crossings

Of course we can. In May 2020 78%of rhe COVID deaths in Minneapolis were from nursing homes where Walz sent COVID patients.
But you can't show a link where Walz made that order? There's a good reason for that. The Trump Administration did. In April 2020.

Now Walz wants to cover that up and so created a law where that stuff no longer gets reported. So now it can happen all the time and no one has to know.
But no checkable link? I see a trend here...
