  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It’s troubling to consider all the things that the Democrats and media have done since 2011 in their narrative against Donald Trump. Not just because it’s wrong and hurtful to him, but because it has been so divisive and damaging to the country. All the lies and the hoaxes, from Russia collusion on down.

They're continuing to lie even now. Joe Biden lied about his reason for running being the “fine people” hoax about Charlottesville, and he's kept up that lie. Now Kamala Harris has continued that disinformation, as well as other deceits like the bleach and "bloodbath" lies, without regard to the truth. That's how desperate they are at this point to do anything they can to try to get Trump.

With all that kind of attitude going on in 2024, it’s hard to remember back to a time when the cult attack narrative wasn’t going full blast. So it was quite something this week to see Joe Rogan playing a flashback to Trump's appearance on "The View" when he was considering running for president back in 2011. Now the ladies of "The View" are such virulent anti-Trump harpies, but it’s fascinating to see them before the dictate of the cult, when they still had Barbara Walters and still made actual news and not just propaganda for the Democratic Party. How they greet Trump is pretty stunning, as Rogan notes, "It's bonkers!"

Listen as Walters introduces "my friend, Donald Trump!" to the cheers of the audience.

At the time he was host of "Celebrity Apprentice," and they treated him as they would a celebrity, not a potential president.
After all, Colbert and others ran for president.as entertainers. When the ladies of the View studied him as a candidate they were, of course, appalled.
Even Meghan McCain and Alyssa Fara Griffin (?) Of course Trump dishonored McCain's father and almost got Griffin's boss, VP Pence, hanged. Little things (!) like that opened the View's eyes.

Wow.

Life in America was still sane back then.

Thanks for sharing the video.
Joe Rogan is really coming thru for us these days.

I don’t know why this is such a difficult concept to grasp. It was also in 2011, before a lot of his nastier stuff had been said or publicized.

Also, Barbara Walters had some issues of her own. Her response to Corey Feldman’s allegations of child abuse in hollywood is kind of infamous.

And the Opera interview back in the day Trump was saying the same thing then and in 2016. I have noticed that the left/ media is aggressive toward anyone who leaves the tribe. Trump deserves criticism for his rhetoric today, he is downright nasty at times and doubles down on his aggressive nature. Finally, Republicans are recognizing it.

I wonder why there does not appear to be a lot of criticism from Christians about the very aggressive and deceitful personal attacks by the politicians and the mainstream media AGAINST Donald Trump? The mainstream media and the progressive left wing politicians truly do appear to actually personally HATE Donald Trump.

Okay, so what was his reason for running?

  1. Bleach: Donald did not suggest that injecting "bleach" could be effective against covid - he suggested "disinfectant". Start at 35s.:

  2. Bloodbath: Donald said, "If I don't get elected it'll be a bloodbath": Start at 56s.:

So the lies and deceit about bleach are that he actually said that "maybe" disinfectant could be injected. What is the deceit concerning "bloodbath"? He clearly, no slurring at all, said "bloodbath", so is it your claim that he is predicting rather than calling for one? He has used the term more than once, so if this is not the reference you mean, please update.

It's pretty easy to understand the "bloodbath" comment as referring to the economic ramifications of not having his tariffs implemented.

Probably because Donald's attacks against others have been so unusually vicious and vindictive. I haven't seen that attacks against this convicted felon and adjudicated and self-proclaimed sex abuser have been particularly aggressive given his own bile.
The mainstream media and the progressive left wing politicians truly do appear to actually personally HATE Donald Trump.
I can see how that may seem to you but I think since most people don't know Donald personally, they may simply despise his atrocious character, his mythomania, his self-glorifying lies, his lack of interest in actually governing, his thieving (Mar-a-Lago docs) and general incompetence.

A month later, Donald refers to Biden's border as a "bloodbath" (22s mark).

Here's a discussion of his general inflammatory rhetoric:

I could be wrong about this. I fully know that I am capable of being in error just like any other person. But, apparently, you don't understand that he was speaking of a symbolic bloodbath using a metaphor talking about losing jobs and stuff like that. Do you expect your words when you speak to people face to face to always be understood with exact literalness or would you believe that people can easily tell when you are using metaphors, figures of speech, symbols, or similes?

How many immigrants and how many people ought to die because of massive illegal immigration before I ought to think to myself, "Now this is a lot of blood?"

Politicians and mainstream media compare Trump to Adolf Hitler who was one of the most evil and wicked man in modern history. Can you give any justification for that wicked personal insult?

I haven't seen that nor did you offer any citation, but, for the sake of argument, one point of comparison might be that Hitler was democratically elected but turned his nation into a fascist state and Donald Trump tried to overthrow the 2020 election to retain power. It's not a particularly good or apt comparison, but it is all too common. On the other side, we have a constant chant of "Marxist" for just about any Democratic candidate.

Perhaps it would be well not to complain of outrageous rhetoric if you're going to indulge in it yourself?

Since you didn't respond about the bloodbath metaphor, all I will say about the disinfectant comment he made is that I don't agree with it. It's one stupid comment, or question, that to me is relatively a nothing burger compared to everything else with which I am in agreement during his first 4 years of office.

I'm not complaining about his rhetoric because I recognize the differences between figures of speech and exact literal language. Meanwhile, the personal attacks and comparisons by leaders of the Democratic Party and by liberal mainstream media with false claims of racism and evil comparisons to Adolf Hitler go beyond the pale, in my opinion. However, if liberal mainstream media and leaders of the Democratic Party continue to say "he is a threat to democracy" do y'all not also understand that they are also implying that voters fo Trump are also threats to democracy? In my opinion, the liberal mainstream media and the progressive left wing leaders of the Democratic Party are waging divisive opposition against millions and millions and millions of Americans.

I cheered for the opening act of the concert I was at in 2010, and they were fine enough, and had a few decent radio hits. Now said act is a headliner and other than the two or three songs I kind of liked then, they haven’t released a single song or album I even remotely care about, and the lead singer is deeply problematic.

Only a fool would say I must still like them because somebody could produce a video that showed clapped for them a few times at a concert I was at to see somebody else and they happened to open for.
