A couple were military incidents involving Communists guerillas in jungles that made me remember that as an intel guy, I should have been sitting at a desk somewhere. But the earliest was in high school, when when my homies and I from our middle-class 'burb had made the unwise decision of accompanying a girl to a house party in the 'hood...and leaving the party we were surrounded by a bunch of the locals: "Ain't you boys a long way from home?" I think that one was the scariest. But I'll always remember the guys I was with.
