  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Will Harris accept the challenge to debate Trump?

Fox news is the governments lap dog? Newsmax? OAN? Are you kidding me?

Try reading a post without looking at it's reflection in a mirror. That will help you to see what it says instead of the exact opposite.

No, we don’t pat him on the back for fulfilling the obligation he selected for himself, waffling on it for awhile, then returned to. I would have given him a tiny bit of credit for going to a debate without causing a scene before his tantrum, but not now.

Maybe he should have floated that idea earlier in the process, not as a knee-jerk reaction to being afraid to fulfill the obligation he already made.

His fear must have somehow made it's way to Biden. Trump sure looked relaxed during the debate. Biden, not so much.

OK. If I'm mistaken perhaps you could explain your post about the news currently being the lap dog instead of the watch dog?

Just because he’s doing (as of right now, anyway) it doesn’t mean he’s not afraid of doing it. His actions have shown that he was afraid enough to try and quit.

That's what certain people here kept saying about the first debate. "He'll chicken out!" was the claim. He didn't, but Biden ended up being the one who quit. Now his #2 who hasn't gotten a single primary vote is what you have to place your hopes in.

Explain it to who? Everyone else seemed to understand.

Day 17 she has time to travel an hold campaign stops - but still not one sit down interview - not one press conference.
And so it begins, the caterwauling about how the Presidential nominee from the Democratic Party isn’t jumping through the hoops set out for her by the [checks notes] people who wouldn’t vote for her under any circumstances.

Don't you like it when her opponents ask questions about her? Don't the other side's detractors constantly complain about him, even though they have their mind to vote for whoever has a "D" in front of their name (and have admitted so)?

Her campaign strategy is to keep people from finding out much about her

The Why doesn’t Harris do [this arbitrary thing]!? schtick is sophomorically dull, though; yes it plays well on your side, but to folks in the middle (who can see from where these questions are emanating) will tend to ask “why is this ‘important’?”

Don't you think asking, "Why doesn't she do interviews?" is a valid question?
Think about it: If she agreed to an interview, the MSM would advertise it as if it were the big story:
"Tonight, Kamala Harris sits down with Lindsey Davis to discuss her presidential campaign run to prevent Donald Trump from overthrowing democracy! Will she be able to do it? Find out tonight at 8pm, 7pm Central!"

But if she doesn't even want to do interviews at all, what are people supposed to take from that? Do you think the general public is satisfied listening to her reciting her same old teleprompter speech in front of audiences at campaign rallies?

She’s going to ru{i}n her campaign in the manner she, herself, chooses.

It’s fine to ”ask questions” about her “strategy”, but it serves no function except to say “she’s not running her campaign correctly!!1!”, (which, to savvy watchers, comes off as “well what shall we kvetch about Harris today?”).

If people want to ask her questions about her policies, they certainly deserve answers from the person that expects their votes. Your mockery about how s"he's not running her campaign correctly" is an obvious mischaracterization that indicates that you don't believe a person should question a presidential candidate., as if we're supposed to simply follow along and accept whatever we get without question. Not very democratic.

I just wanted to revive this thread for the lulz now that Trump did so poorly against Harris he’s refusing to do another debate at all.

If he wants to let “THEY’RE EATING THE DAWGS” be the last thing voters remember before Election Day then so be it.
