  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

True, I do agree on that, but we need a GOP candidate who has polite mannerisms, one that has the capability of getting a 60% landslide victory. Trump doesn't make the cut. Mitt Romney would, or Liz Cheney.
You remember what they did to Romney?

Maybe because what people are actually doing is affirming care supported by evidence-based research and professional medical ethics.
Except they are not. It's been proven to you many times over now.

It still is a medical decisions reached by parents and doctors. Even if you think they're wrong, taking away their right to that decision absolutely is a pretty big step.
Unless the parents disagree. It seems that the parents only count if they agree with what the child wants.

The AAP Board of Directors voted to reaffirm the 2018 AAP policy statement on gender-affirming care and authorized development of an expanded set of guidance for pediatricians based on a systematic review of the evidence.

Evidence based research and approval from the largest US pediatric professional organization with regular reevaluations of new evidence. I think I'm on safe ground with my statement.

Do you have any numbers? How many gender reassignment surgeries are performed on patients under 18 in a year?
How many is too many? Do you really care about the numbers? Is there a line for you somewhere? It's okay to have this many but no more?

That was 2018. The world has changed since then and the research has been found to be no good. So, I'm afraid you aren't on safe ground. But you know this as you have been shown it.

The reaffirmation was 2023.

No, I want to have some numbers to know how big the problem is. Because, in medical issues. like this, they have to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. I don't have the numbers, either, but I suspect that there are few because gender reassignment is not advised until the organs involved reach maturity. It's tricky, else. So the situation must be considered serious before it is attempted, and if it is serious the rationale for it can be examined.

Also incorrect. They do not remove or "chop off" male parts during gender reassignment, they reconfigure them to where they would have been if they were born female.
Same difference. It's what we call a distinction without a difference. Like if we turned your hand into a foot. Is it chopping off your hand and leaving it lying on the ground? No, but you are losing your hand. In some medical descriptions they even say it's removing the penis. So, a distinction without a difference.

I don’t care if they practice their religion, though I would hope that they’d convert to Christianity. However, our laws should be based on God’s word, and not various forms of paganism. I would think you’d agree.
What form of paganism do you think our laws are based on?

Why? Why does it matter how big the problem.is? I swear in another thread we talked about this and I provided the information to you. I think you ignored it then too.

Does it matter to you how many? And no they don't have to be evaluated on a case by case basis. If a child is having g her breasts removed for Affirmative Care then its perfectly acceptable to say no. To every case. There can be no.compelling reason to do so. And there is zero evidence that it's necessary.

Maybe I just don't remember you doing it.

For who to say no?

True. But in order to avoid controversy, just for 2024, Biden could have skipped trans day. Transgenderism is not a religion, so the Hindu and Muslim analogy fails there.
There are all kinds of "holidays" every day. March 31st is also "World Backup Day" (plug in your external drive!) and "Cesear Chavez Day (US)", "Transfer Day (US VI)", various fixed saints days, and in New Jersey a holiday commemorating the first Black person to vote (March 31, 1870) after the 15th Amendment came in force the day before. All are annual and one of them is declared by the President of the US.

TL;DR: Not every thing is about you, christian.

Yeah, I'd rather celebrate Black folks voting, or World Backup Day over gender visibility day. :) As a brown man, I like how black and brown folks have rights. Race one is born with. Gender swapping is not.

Hopefully we do not get transracial stuff happening in the 2030s.

Oh wait, that happened in 2015, and was thankfully shut down:

The procedure involves castration. The testicles are removed and disposed of.
