What's the story behind the sandals?

They indicate that he was a son and not a slave, as slaves did not usually wear sandals. They walked around barefoot. However, the sandals also serve a completely different purpose, as Paul makes clear

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Eph 6:15

This message of peace is none other than the good news of the kingdom on earth proclaimed by the Lord Jesus and His apostles.

And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of G-d: and the twelve were with him, Lk 8:1


Only when He reigns as King of Peace over the restored and united Kingdom of Israel will the world realize the meaning of true peace.

Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. Isa 9:7

In his address to the first believers in Rome, Paul shows us the heart of the Father

And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. Rom 11:26-27

When the prodigal house of Israel returns to the land of the Father with their hearts full of repentance, their feet will be shod with the message of peace. On their subsequent journey, they will wear Jesus' robe of salvation and His mantle of righteousness and cannot help but radiate a powerful example in their father's house, the land of Israel.

How shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Rom 10:15

It is obvious that the prodigal son was not dead. He survived the famine and returned to his father's house. So what does the father mean when he says to his elder son Judah

The answer is found in G-d's commandment to Moses regarding the treatment of a wayward and rebellious son

If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them: Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place; And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard. And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear. And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree: His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of G-d that thy land be not defiled, which the Lord thy G-d giveth thee for an inheritance. Deu 21:18-23

The prodigal son rebels against his father's house by taking his inheritance and squandering it without restraint. The Hebrew word for licentious is zalal , which also means glutton, drunkard or prodigal.

The Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon of the OT by F.W. Genesius interprets it as follows

One who wastes his own body.

Even the letters of zalal allow us a deeper insight into the meaning of this word. The letters of the Hebrew alefbet not only have an individual meaning, but also their own numerical value, which in turn says something.

Thus, even the letters and numbers convey a picture of what lies beneath the text.

The letter Zayin means sword or to cut off.

Lamed stands for shepherd's crook and learn or teach.

The full meaning of the word zalal is that this rebellious son has cut himself off from the shepherd's staff and all that he has been taught.

The rebellious son is, of course, none other than Ephraim, who stands for the lost house of Israel. Moses speaks of the 10 tribes of Israel in the same way as a rebellious son. This means that according to the Torah, Ephraim deserved the punishment of the rebellious son. This punishment was death and the corpse was to hang on a tree.

The good news is that, as in the parable, the heavenly Father never gave up on His son. He sent His own Son in the flesh who was willing to die the death of the rebellious son. He was taken down on a tree before sunset and buried on the same day, just as the Torah prescribes.

For this reason, the father in the parable was able to explain to his other son Judah

And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine. It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found. Lk 15:31-32

The hidden symbolism in the parable of the prodigal son is really like a description of Judah and Ephraim and G-d's plan to set His two sons straight. Just like the other parables. This is deliberately chosen so that no one would understand them who was not meant to understand them.

And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables? Mk 4:10-13

Let's take two more parables.

He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. Lk 8:8b

In the Gospel of Luke

is about two (!) women. One is 12 years old, the other has been unclean for 12 years because of blood flow.

Can that be a coincidence?

No, of course not.

Two women (cf. Jer 3) stand for Judah and Ephraim and the 12 for the twelve tribes.

We read here how Lord Jesus works on each woman individually. Just as they need it.

And what is the goal?

They are to be healed so that Judah and Ephraim can become ONE.

The woman with the issue of blood stands for Ephraim. Leviticus shows that a woman with an issue of blood is unclean

And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean. Every bed whereon she lieth all the days of her issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation: and whatsoever she sitteth upon shall be unclean, as the uncleanness of her separation. And whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean. And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for her before the Lord for the issue of her uncleanness. Lev 15:25-30

And we read in the prophet Hosea that Ephraim is just as unclean

I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, and Israel is defiled. Hos 5:3

I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled. Hos 6:10


For years, this woman has turned to doctors instead of G-d.

Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency? Hos 8:5

But now, when she meets Jesus, she recognizes her chance.

She grasps the tassel of His garment (Lk 8:44) and a power emanates from Him and she is healed.

Lord Jesus wears these tassels on the basis of the verses in Numbers

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue: And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them ; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring: That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your G-d. I am the Lord your G-d, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your G-d: I am the Lord your G-d. Num 15:37-41

They should serve to remind us of the commandments of G-d

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing [will be] in his wings; (hebrew kanaph)... Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. Mal 4:2a .4

Once again we find a reference to the commandments of G-d.

The prophet Zechariah describes how, at the end of time, the Gentiles will seek support from the tassels of the Jews

Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that G-d is with you. Zec 8:23

So it is about a return to the commandments of G-d, to the Torah. The Jews have kept these over the centuries.

Ephraim's task will therefore be to remember the Torah. To return to His ways. Only then is the unification of all 12 tribes possible. This applies not only to Judah (unification of Jews and Christians), but also to the more than 10,000 different denominations among whom unity is not possible otherwise (Christian unity is only possible through the Torah).

Let us turn to the 12-year-old girl. She stands for the House of Judah. It seems to be dead (many of us believe that Jews are spiritually dead). But what does Lord Jesus say?

she is not dead, but sleepeth. Lk 8:52b

Have you ever wondered what all the sick people at the pool of Bethesda are about (John 5:1-16)?

Isn't it strange that they have been waiting there for years for the Spirit in the hope that something will change in them?

Bethesda is translated as “house of grace” or “house of mercy”. We know who has been waving the flag of mercy exuberantly for two millennia (although of course Jews also believe in grace and mercy! cf. Ex 20:6).

The many sick also speak prophetically of Israel once again (see Bible verses above that write of Israel's sickness).

Once again an important number appears: Five (v.2)! This usually stands for the Torah (5 books of Moses).

I find it amazing that these people hoped in the Spirit alone. The whole scene seems very depressed and dreary. They sit and wait for something to happen. Isn't that bleak?

But Lord Jesus comes and presents a new way of healing:

HE heals and links it to a life according to the Torah (the number five):

Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. John 5:14

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law
(Torah): for sin is the transgression of the law (Torah). 1 John 3:4

...not that every illness comes from sin. But it can of course be that one becomes ill because one has not lived in the commandments of G-d (see also Lev 26:14et sqq.)

And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy G-d, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee. Ex 15:26

The prophet Hosea worked as a prophet in the northern kingdom, where he had to announce the judgment of G-d to the people of G-d in view of their unfaithfulness. According to Hos 9:7-9, the prophet was sharply attacked by the people for his message of judgment and ridiculed as an unaccountable babbler (meshugga Hos 9:7).

The topic of Judah and Ephraim is one of the most present in the entire Bible.

Hosea 1 tells us that Hosea was married to Gomer, the daughter of Diblaim, with whom he had three children:

Jezreel, Loruhamah, Loammi. Gomer is described in Hos 1:2 as a faithless (zanah) wife, which does not characterize her as a commercial harlot, but rather as a woman determined by the spirit of faithlessness. Together with the children, she represents Israel's apostasy from G-d. The phrase children of whoredoms (Hos 1:2) is to be understood in this sense. According to Hos 3, the prophet was married a second time. It is said of this second wife that she had already committed adultery once (Hos 3:1). This marriage represents Israel's return to fellowship with G-d. The adulteress is allowed to return to her husband.

The beginning of the word of the Lord by Hosea. And the Lord said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the Lord. So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son. Hos 1:2-3

Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel... Call her name Loruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away... his name Loammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your G-d. Hos 1:4 .6 .9

Then said the Lord unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the Lord toward the children of Israel, who look to other g-ds, and love flagons of wine. Hos 3:1

Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living G-d. Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel. Hos 1:10-11


Today we are in one of the most exciting times ever. The restoration of Judah and Ephraim has been awaited for thousands of years.
Now the return of Lord Jesus is imminent and He will be King over ONE nation:

The united Kingdom of Israel!

Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten (bloody), and he will bind us up. After two days (after 2 days = after 2000 years of false religious belief with own festivals, priests, buildings, holy weekday, etc.) will he revive us: in the third day (i.e. in the following messianic age on earth) he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. Hos 6:1-2

When we see this gospel of the kingdom preached about the restoration of the whole house of Israel in all nations, then we know that we are very close to the end of this age

Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel. Hos 1:11

Hosea married his fornicating wife a second time, which is a picture of the Messiah.

The covenant at Sinai was the covenant between the Messiah and the house of Jacob, the 12 tribes. But Israel committed adultery and idolatry. That is why it was given the letter of divorce. Israel was therefore divorced and the Torah forbids its return

When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife. And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife; Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the Lord: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the Lord thy G-d giveth thee for an inheritance. Deu 24:1-4

How is the woman (the house of Israel) to come back into the covenant with G-d (the husband, cf. Jer 3)?

They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the Lord. Jer 3:1

Paul explains

Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. Rom 7:1-2

Through the death of Jesus, Israel can marry the one who was raised from the dead: Jesus!

Would you be surprised to learn that the Old Covenant was not a collection of commandments and prohibitions, but a marriage contract between G-d and Israel?

Would you be surprised to learn that the New Covenant is not an abrogation of G-d's laws and commandments, but a new marriage covenant with Israel?

Understanding these two terms is incredibly important because they are at the center of our faith.

Failure to understand these two concepts has spawned a myriad of strange doctrines, some of which have led to disasters.

Some people claim that the laws and commandments of the Old Covenant were abolished - even nailed to the cross.

Others claim to be NT Christians only - referring to the teaching exclusively from the body of NT books.

The difference between the two testaments is actually quite simple to illustrate:

Imagine you canceled your cell phone contract with Company A. One month later, you change your mind and sign a new contract with the same company. The terms and conditions are the same, but the contract is different.

This is the same idea between the two wills: The terms are the same (the laws and commandments), but the contracts are different.

This is just a basic overview of G-d's marriage, divorce and remarriage to His one and only wife: Israel. This outline may not cover everything, but it serves to quickly illustrate the basic events.

ca. 1446 BCE:
G-d marries united Israel (all twelve tribes including the foreigners and the mixed people who were assimilated (taken in)) at Sinai
They are betrothed (legally married, but not living together)
They have a ketubah (marriage contract) with their vows or commandments, statutes and judgments (In G-d's marriage to Israel, the Torah takes the place of the ketubah)
She cheats with the golden calf and thus commits adultery
G-d forgives her

922 BCE:
G-d divides the kingdom because of Solomon's sin of worshipping other G-d
Now there are two kingdoms: the House of Israel and the House of Judah
Both houses worship false G-d, but the House of Israel is particularly bad
G-d illustrates in the book of Hosea - Israel is like a prostitute
He promises to wipe out Israel, but to have mercy on Judah (Hos 1:6-7)

722 BCE:
G-d dismisses the house of Israel, but is merciful to Judah because of his promises to David
Israel is sent out of his house with a bill of divorcement, with no legal hope of return, though G-d promises to take them back (Jer 3:8; Hos 2:19-20)

586 BCE:
Judah is carried off to Babylon because it is worse than Israel, but G-d does not divorce him because of his promise to David
However, her marriage is at an end, she is extremely adulterous

33 CE:
Jesus (G-d in the flesh) dies, abrogating the first marriage covenant (of Sinai)
His death frees Israel (and Judah) from the handwriting that was against them: Divorce and gross adultery
The law of the husband (marriage contract) is annulled by the death of the husband
Both houses are now legally free to marry another man
The middle wall of separation between the houses is removed

Jesus rises as a new legal subject who can remarry his original (albeit legally new) wife
The houses (Israel and Judah) are now reunited as one legal entity: G-d's betrothed
Jesus calls on his disciples to share the good news of the new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah (Jer 31:31)
The exiled and divorced woman who was scattered to the nations (Gentiles) and became part of the nations (Gentiles) can now return to the marriage covenant.
Judah (Jews) can (and must) enter into a new marriage covenant because the old one is irremediably tainted
The Levitical priesthood is transferred to the Melchizedek priesthood, which accomplished everything they ever did only once in the heavenly tabernacle
The vows of the ketubah of the new covenant are the same as the first ones
The vows (commandments, statutes, judgments) were and remain perfect
They are now to be written on the heart (inwardly) and no longer on tablets of stone (outwardly) - the actual points remain the same
The scattered house of Israel hears the good news that it can return
The House of Judah hears the good news that they can be forgiven and enter into a new marriage covenant with G-d that is not tainted by their adultery.

Second coming:
Jesus returns to gather his bride (the restored, reunited houses of Israel). Those who have remained faithful to him (Rev 12) will attend the wedding feast

Living together: Feast of Tabernacles: G-d dwells with Israel forever and ever (both houses reunited, which includes a multitude of people)

This overview is not exhaustive, but it gives a quick indication of the events of G-d's marriage, divorce and remarriage to his only wife, Israel.

Many may never have heard that the G-d of the OT, who later became Jesus Christ, had entered into a written marriage covenant, the ketubbah, with Israel.

Ketubbah means written. The marriage contract regulates the rights and obligations associated with the marriage for the bridegroom and bride.

Lord Jesus was (and is) the husband of Israel,

Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the Lord. Jer 3:20... Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: Jer 31:32... For thy Maker is thine husband; the Lord of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The G-d of the whole earth shall he be called. Isa 54:5

who brought the Israelites out of the bondage of Egypt,

I am the Lord thy G-d, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Ex 20:2

who went before them in a pillar of cloud,

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: Ex 13:21

who communicated with them,

And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation; And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of G-d (Judah and Ephraim) that were scattered abroad. John 11:51-52

and will also turn the fate of Judah to good

I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled. Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest for thee, when I returned the captivity of my people. Hos 6:10-11

Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and for all the house of Israel his companions: And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand. Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord G-d; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand. Ez 37:16-19

and will cleanse them from all lawlessness towards the Torah

And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord G-d; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land: And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all. Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their G-d. Ez 37:21-23

was none other than JESUS CHRIST

Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. After two days (5+6) will he revive us: in the third day (7 = Millennium!) he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. Then shall we know [Him], if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth. Hos 6:1-3

Among the titles for Jesus in the NT (Son of Man, Christ, Savior/Redemptor, etc.), John the Baptist tells his followers that Jesus is the Bridegroom and John is His best man! After confessing that he is not the Messiah, John says

He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease. John 3:29-30

In light of the OT, John's proclamation is astonishing in that it recognizes that Jesus is G-d come to earth to unite humanity to Himself, alluding John to JHVH who married His people; cf. Isa 62:4-5; Jer 2:2 .3:20; Ez 16:8 .23:4; Hos 2:18-20

This confession is substantiated by the words and deeds of Jesus. When asked why His disciples do not fast, Jesus answers with a question in which He refers to Himself:

And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. Mt 9:15

Jesus is the bridegroom who announces His marriage to mankind. This is shown by His first miracle.

At a wedding celebration in Cana, the bridegroom runs out of wine. At the suggestion of His mother, Jesus decides to manifest Himself by turning water into wine. Since it was the bridegroom's responsibility to provide the wine, Jesus manifests Himself as the long-awaited bridegroom through this miracle.

As the OT foreshadowed the union between G-d and man in Jesus, the NT provides the spiritual context to understand why Jesus is called the bridegroom. From this image we see that Jesus sacrificed Himself so that others might have life in Him.

Let's just take a look at what the prophets say.

The prophet Jeremiah calls the people to repentance and a new beginning and announces a military invasion from the north that will devastate the country

I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger. Jer 4:23-26


Nevertheless, we find an announcement of the new covenant with Israel at the end of time, cf. Jer. 30ff

The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord G-d of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book. For, lo, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the Lord: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it. And these are the words that the Lord spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah. For thus saith the Lord; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it. For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him: But they shall serve the Lord their G-d, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them. Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the Lord; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid. Jer 30:1-10

The prophet Zephaniah writes about the announcement of the approaching judgment on Judah

I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the Lord. I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumbling blocks with the wicked: and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the Lord. I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests; Zeph 1:2-4

The Authorized King James Bible correctly writes here:

I will utterly consume all things from off the land,...and I will cut off man from off the land,

But even after this judgment, there is to be a new future through the intervention of G-d, albeit only for a small remnant of the people of Israel

I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the Lord. The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid. Zeph 3:12-13

The prophet Isaiah speaks of judgment and restoration for the land of Israel, cf. Isaiah 27ff

Behold, the Lord maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof. And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the Lord hath spoken this word. Isa 24:1-3

The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth. And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited. Isa 24:19-22


The Schlachter, a German translation of the Bible by Franz Eugen Schlachter, first translated from the Greek and Hebrew text of the Bible in 1905, understands Isaiah's prophecy as a judgment on the land of Israel or its inhabitants and the kings of the earth

Behold, the LORD will depopulate[1] and lay waste the land; he will disfigure its face[2] and scatter its inhabitants. Isa 24:1

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall visit the host of the high places on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth; Isa 24:21

At the end, however, Isaiah describes the gathering of Israel

In that day the Lord with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea. In that day sing ye unto her, A vineyard of red wine. I the Lord do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day. Fury is not in me: who would set the briers and thorns against me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together. Or let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me. He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit. Hath he smitten him, as he smote those that smote him? or is he slain according to the slaughter of them that are slain by him? In measure, when it shooteth forth, thou wilt debate with it: he stayeth his rough wind in the day of the east wind. By this therefore shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this is all the fruit to take away his sin; when he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are beaten in sunder, the groves and images shall not stand up. Yet the defenced city shall be desolate, and the habitation forsaken, and left like a wilderness: there shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie down, and consume the branches thereof. When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come, and set them on fire: for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will shew them no favour. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the Lord in the holy mount at Jerusalem. Isa 27:1-13


The restoration of the house of Israel will take place through the purification of Ephraim and Judah and the judgment of the nations.

The psalmist has foreseen a time when the regathered Israel will live in peace under the rule of the thrones of the House of David

Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together: Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord. For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David. Ps 122:3-5


Isaiah also spoke of a Jerusalem that will be restored in perfection and will have judges as in the first times and a perfect king who will reign with his rulers

Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment. Isa 32:1


The fact that the world cannot believe in a heavenly paradise becoming an earthly reality does not mean that it will not happen. It simply means that in the face of today's terrorism, poverty, ignorance and blind arrogance of wealth and cynical politics, people today are unable to imagine how a divine promise will be fulfilled that will sweep away all the vicious excesses of progress. The prophets of the Bible, from Moses and Isaiah to the Mashiach, along with the apostles, confirmed that G-d's kingdom simply cannot be grasped because of man's self-centeredness and hard-heartedness. And even the dominant religions of our day do not see and teach a future world of justice and progress as described in Scripture. Most of them believe that heaven is the ultimate paradise for man and not what G-d has said about the coming of the Kingdom of G-d and its rule on earth.

The covenant that G-d made with Abraham is an everlasting covenant. The fulfillment of this covenant is related to obedience to the Torah. However, as a result of disobedience to the Torah, his people were sent into exile. After they were sent into exile, G-d promised to bring them back to their land if they would repent and believe the Torah again. The reuniting of the two houses would take place with the return of Jesus and the beginning of the Messianic age. This is the fulfillment of the covenant that G-d had made with Abraham. This is the Gospel according to the Torah.

The Lord Jesus spoke about the kingdom in parable after parable. All the parables give us the same message from different angles:

It is the return of the ten tribes to the land of Israel with the return of the Messiah. He is coming to establish His kingship over the reunited kingdom of Israel. At that time, the two faces of Israel will become one again in the hand of G-d (according to the statements of the prophets in the article above).

In connection with the restoration of Israel, Scripture only ever speaks of the two houses, the House of Ephraim and the House of Judah.

To return briefly to the parable of the healing of the woman with the issue of blood:

The Gospel of Mark speaks of a woman who had been suffering from a flow of blood for twelve years. She had already suffered a great deal and spent all her possessions on doctors, but they were unable to cure her illness. On the contrary, she became even worse. A woman at the time of her monthly blood flow is considered impure

And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even. Lev 15:19

Under normal circumstances, this state only lasts a few days. According to the Torah, a woman is considered clean after seven days. The woman in the Gospel of Mark, however, suffered from a pathological flow of blood that had already lasted twelve years. We read the following in the Gospel of Mark:

When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. Mk 5:27-29

When Lord Jesus realized that power had gone out from him and asked who had touched him, the woman came trembling before him and fell down at his feet. There was a reason why she was so afraid, because according to the Levitical purity law, she should not have been in a crowd. She certainly would not have been allowed to touch a kosher rabbi. But Lord Jesus spoke to her:

And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. Mk 5:34

Not only did this woman believe that Jesus was the Messiah who could heal her from her illness. She was also schooled in the Torah and the prophets. There is a commandment in the Torah that commands the children of Israel to wear tassels (tsitsith) on the tails of their garments

Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue: And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them ; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:0 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your G-d. Num 15:38-40

The tassels are to remind the children of Israel of G-d's Torah at all times. In the book of Malachi we read:

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; (Hebrew: kanaph) and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. Mal 4:2

The prophet wants to tell us here that the Messiah will have healing at the corner of his garment. The woman remembered this verse and reached for the tassel hanging from the corner of Yeshua's robe. The woman here symbolizes the twelve tribes, for she suffered twelve years from the flow of blood. She lost all her possessions to doctors. However, they were unable to improve her condition. None of the many idols that Israel followed could redeem her. In fact, Israel was scattered into exile because of her unfaithfulness and had to endure a great deal of suffering and persecution. It was only when the woman reached out for the Torah (symbolically by grasping the tassels) that she was healed of her suffering.

Immediately afterwards, we read in the Gospel of Mark how the Lord Jesus brought a girl who had died back to life. The girl was twelve years old. Here, too, we see the connection to the twelve tribes of Israel. After cleansing Israel of its impurity and leading it back to the Torah, he raised a virgin girl from the dead. The impure bride of Israel, who was dead, is cleansed of her impurity by her Messiah in order to be reborn as an immaculate, virgin bride.

The apostle Paul writes that the Messiah will marry a pure virgin

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 2 Cor 11:2

In Luke's Gospel we read about the two sons or the two houses: Lk 15:11ff.

A certain man had two sons:

A picture of G-d having two sons, the house of Judah and the house of Ephraim or the ten lost tribes.

The elder son (the House of Judah) always stayed with his father and studied the Torah. The House of Judah also kept the Torah for us. Some say that this is why many of the House of Judah wear black clothing, because they mourn the lost son.

The younger son had his inheritance paid out to him. In other words, he took the blessings he was entitled to through the Torah and moved to a distant land (into exile). When he had used up all that was his (had squandered the blessings of the Torah), a great famine came upon that land (he was no longer able to cope spiritually), and he began to starve and went and attached himself to a citizen of that land, who sent him to his field to tend the swine. (In exile, the lost ten tribes attached themselves to the teachings of foreign gods and literally ate pork, which is against the instructions in the Torah).

The House of Judah never followed this path. Therefore, the lost ten tribes cannot be found in the House of Judah. There are reports that Jewish families “preferred” to watch their children being killed by the occupying forces rather than give them pork as demanded.

The prodigal son said in exile:

I perish with hunger!

This is happening up and down the country. Many brothers and sisters are no longer satisfied with the food on offer in their churches.

The prodigal son recognizes this lack

I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight,

The lost ten tribes, believers from Christianity realize that they have sinned against G-d and the heavenly teachings of the Torah.

And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

Only the father saw the prodigal son turn back. The older brother did not notice. This rabbi in Jerusalem literally behaves like the father. He embraces his brothers and sisters from the ten tribes and says to his rabbis: “We must receive them lovingly, with all their confused and stray ideas and their tattered clothes. G-d will straighten them out. And so it is indeed. On the road of return, not yet arrived at the Father's house (an image for the land of Israel), the repentant believers say:

Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son:

They recognize that they have transgressed the Torah, which is the definition of sin. To sin is to transgress the Torah. Therefore, the ten lost tribes cannot be from the house of Judah.

But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

What is the best robe?

And what does the ring on his hand mean here?

The Sabbath is our ring on our finger as a bride, or in other words, the finger of G-d is now writing the Sabbath commandment on the tablets of his heart.

And the best robe?

The white undergarment of the priests stands for the garment of salvation. But the garment of salvation is not the best garment, is it?

Is it not the wedding garment?

And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Mt 22:11-12

The father celebrates a feast:

For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.

The prodigal son was dead, that's how the father sees it. This is how G-d sees believers in the transgressions of the Torah.

The prophet Ezekiel confirms exactly this image of death:

Thus saith the Lord G-d; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the Lord have spoken it, and performed it, saith the Lord. Ez 37:12-14

The lost ten tribes were dead before HIM in their transgressions of the Torah, in exile, in their graves. The house of Judah would never claim that, would it?

Therefore, the ten lost tribes cannot represent the house of Judah.

But the elder son was in the field (an image for the Torah).

he heard musick and dancing. And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant. And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound. And he was angry, and would not go in:

The parable foreshadows what will happen when the ten lost tribes repent. The elder son, the house of Judah, becomes angry:

Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: (Torah) and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: (jealousy)

And we have to reckon with this and it also happens when the ten lost tribes turn back. The elder brother is not happy about it:

But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, (foreign g-ds, pagan elements, etc.) thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

But then his father went out and asked the elder son. The father helps him, also through this prophetic voice of a rabbi who goes before his brothers and helps them so that they can understand the unbelievable: The idolaters from exile turn back, return home and G-d is pleased.

for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

The father's house is in the land of Israel.

When the prodigal son returns from afar, from exile, to his father's house, this literally means the land of Israel. We read this confirmed in Ezekiel

Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. Ez 37:12

The house of Judah and the house of Ephraim are the Father's house. The Lord Jesus refers to this when he says:

In my Father's house are many mansions: John 14:2

The ten lost tribes recognize in exile that they have sinned and set out on the path of repentance and the Father will literally bring them into his house, the land of Israel.

We are now living in the time when we can and should be concerned with being brought back. Then when the call comes for the greater exodus, we will be ready and set out. Any theology that denies this robs believers of the opportunity to prepare for the fulfillment of this promise.

The Torah describes how the ashes of a red heifer are to be used to obtain cleansing water for the Israelites who have ritually defiled themselves with a corpse. There a woman from Samaria comes to draw water.

The red heifer was to be burned outside the camp

And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer. Num 19:6

Many Jews do not understand the depth of this statute. They accept it because it is given from above, but without understanding. We understand that the red heifer is a picture of Lord Jesus.

The red heifer could not be more than three years old and is a reminder of Jesus' ministry on earth, which lasted three years.

It had to be without blemish, have no infirmity, never have worn a yoke and was burned outside the camp. A clear description of the Lord Jesus. He alone was without fault or infirmity and never bore the yoke of sin and was led outside the camp.

Cedar, hyssop and scarlet wool are all images for the dying Messiah on the tree.

She was burned outside the camp:

her hide, her flesh, her dung, along with cedar, hyssop and scarlet wool. A clean man was to collect the ashes from the cow and keep them outside the camp as purifying water for the congregation of Israelites.

We read this in Hebrews

For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, Saying, This is the blood of the testament which G-d hath enjoined unto you. Hebr 9:19-20

We find this again in Luke

Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. Lk 22:20

But why were the ashes of the red heifer (image of Jesus) mixed into a cleansing water (Jesus cleanses us from all our guilt)?

The background to this instruction can be found in Genesis 5, where holy water mixed with dust was given to the wife to drink if she was suspected of being unfaithful. If she was indeed unfaithful, the water was bitter and cursing for her. Lord Jesus drank this cup for us - on our behalf. This cup, which we as an unfaithful bride should have drunk according to the teachings of the Torah, he drank for us.

Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. John 19:29-30

Lord Jesus thus drank the cup of the law of jealousy (Genesis 5:14ff) on behalf of his unfaithful bride.

This cleansing water is the key to understanding the encounter between Lord Jesus and the woman from Samaria.

Samaria was located in the northern kingdom of Israel. The inhabitants, the ten tribes of Israel, intermarried with the Assyrians who occupied these territories. For Judah and the southern kingdom, the inhabitants of Samaria were therefore considered unclean.

When Lord Jesus asked the woman from Samaria at the well to give Him a drink, He was expressing on a deeper level that He would drink from her cup (the cup of the law of jealousy) on her behalf. This cup of purification contained the ashes (the ashes of the red heifer as a picture of Jesus) according to the instructions in Deuteronomy 5:17.

Because He did this in a prophetic act, the Samaritan woman was able to drink of His cleansing water.

The woman of Samaria was a picture of the house of Israel, the northern kingdom.

She had five husbands, just like the house of Israel of old: the five books of Moses, to whom the whole nation was once married.

he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: John 4:18b

In other words, she lived outside the Torah. She - like Israel - had become unclean. Lord Jesus uncovered the truth that she was living outside the marriage covenant (ketubah = Torah). He said to her:

If thou knewest the gift of G-d,
(the restoration) and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; (the cup so that the marriage covenant can be restored) thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water (cleansing water from the sacrifice of the red
heifer - spoken as a picture of Jesus). John 4:10b

The encounter with the woman at the well in Samaria is a prophetic story of how the scattered tribes of the northern kingdom (us and those who are grafted in) would be cleansed of our unfaithfulness (living outside the Torah) and rejoined with the house of Judah (faithful to the Torah) through the sacrifice of Jesus (red heifer as a picture of this) who drank the cup of jealousy for us (Ezekiel 37).

Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. Ez 36:25-27


There is no doubt that the gift of G-d also refers to the Torah. In rabbinic terms, the Torah is also referred to as (living) water

Just as water is life for the world, so too are the words of the Torah life for the world.

This living water is suitable for quenching a woman's existential thirst: The woman demands the water of life from Lord Jesus

Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. John 4:15

And it is He who conveys the message to her in the background

It is I myself whom you need (cf. 4:26: I that speak unto thee am he.).

This ultimately means:

Lord Jesus Himself is the right man (bridegroom) for the Samaritan woman (the northern kingdom, the bride).

The Gospel of John tells of the feeding of a large crowd. The crowd that sat down before the Lord Jesus (at his feet to receive the Torah) points to the house of Israel (northern kingdom). To feed the people He had five barley loaves and two fish

There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? John 6:9


The two fish symbolize the two houses of Israel

Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the Lord, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks. Jer 16:16

The five loaves refer to the five books of Moses (the Torah)

And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. John 6:11-13

Lord Jesus taught his disciples the Torah and the resulting Good News of salvation. They in turn were now called to proclaim this message to the whole world as a testimony

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Mt 28:19-20

(This is not about making disciples of all nations. The King James Bible originally translated it as follows: TEACH all nations, and this is again in line with proclaiming the gospel as a testimony; cf. Mt.24:14)

After the disciples distributed the bread to the crowd, they gathered 12 baskets full. The 12 baskets in turn point to the gathering of the 12 tribes of Israel

And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.

And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them: Insomuch that the multitude wonred, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the G-d of Israel. Mt 15:29-31

Lord Jesus gathers the sick, the crippled and the unclean, who are representative of Israel. These lay down at his feet (to receive the Torah) and were healed of their infirmities. Thereupon they praised the G-d of Israel. For they had recognized that only the Messiah could heal his people of their sins (= transgression of the Torah) and lead them to repentance (= turning from their sins). The illnesses of the people came about because they did not keep the Torah

But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy G-d, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:... Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee. Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the Lord bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed. Deu 28:15 .60-61

The term great crowd refers to the house of Israel (10 tribes/ northern kingdom).When Jacob blessed the younger son of Joseph, Ephraim, he gave him the promise that a great multitude would arise from him

The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth. Gen 48:16

(Manasseh) also shall become a nation, and he also shall become great; but his younger brother shall become greater,

and his seed shall become a multitude of nations. Gen 48:19b

The Lord was called Rabbi by the people. This honorific title was given in Israel to people who taught the Torah to their disciples. In Hebrew thought, sitting at the feet of a rabbi is a designation for the study of the Torah

I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day. Acts 22:3

Lord Jesus is the walking, living Torah sent by the Father to give the world an example of how to walk in G-d's commandments.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14


Among the disciples of Lord Jesus were men who had previously worked as fishermen

And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Mt 4:18-19

In the book of Jeremiah we read that G-d will send fishermen to gather his people Israel again

Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the Lord, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks. Jer 16:16

Indeed, Lord Jesus chose fishermen whom he sent out as apostles to gather the lost sheep of Israel

And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay... I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified G-d, saying, We never saw it on this fashion. Mk 2:3-4 .11-12

The healing of the paralytic also points to the blessing of Israel in the future. This is what Israel will experience in the millennial kingdom

And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities. Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me. Mt 11:1-6

To underline the fact that Lord Jesus is the Messiah of whom the Torah, the Scriptures and the prophets speak, he refers to the fact that he heals the blind, the lame, the deaf and the lepers. For all these afflictions were transferred to Israel in the scriptures. He wants to show that he will restore Israel by healing them from the diseases that have come upon them because of sin.

All of Jesus' works of salvation, which He accomplished during His first ministry on earth, pointed prophetically to the restoration of Israel.

When will the kingdom of G-d promised in the OT come for the nation of Israel, when will the remaining messianic promises of the OT be fulfilled?

After the Lord Jesus taught his disciples about the kingdom of G-d for forty days after his resurrection,

To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of G-d: Acts 1:3

And they asked Him

Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? Acts 1:6

He does not reject His disciples. The Lord Jesus does not say, as the churches have long taught, that there is no longer a kingdom for Israel at all; He merely says that the time for this still outstanding fulfillment lies with the Father.

By naming His disciples as witnesses to the ends of the earth, He indicated that G-d's favor was passing from Israel to the Gentile world at the moment, but that a time would irrevocably come when G-d would restore the "kingdom for Israel".

Peter later preached in the same way:

And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which G-d hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. Acts 3:20-21

After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: Acts 15:16


In the same way, Paul indicates that after an interim period of G-d's mercy on the Gentile nations, He will turn again to His people Israel and restore them according to the Old Testament promises

that blindness in part is happened to Israel, UNTIL the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:... For the gifts and calling of G-d are without repentance. Rom 11:25b-26 .29


The Gospel of Luke promises a time when Jerusalem will once again be under Jewish rule:

And they (Jews) shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, UNTIL the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. Lk.21:24

Seventy years later, the Romans destroyed the temple and Jerusalem, and the Jewish people were scattered throughout the world. The prophecies of the Lord Jesus and the OT were fulfilled to the letter.

In the years 1948 and 1967 Jerusalem came back into Jewish hands, a sign that G-d is again increasingly turning to Israel and that it too is fulfilling His word, even though it is not (yet) living in His ordinances again.

The term land is used 18 times in the NT for the land of Israel

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Mt 5:12

In Psalm 37:11, which Lord Jesus quotes here, the expression the meek refers to the meek of Israel. They will take possession of the land of Israel again.

The central theme of the NT is the restoration of the 12 tribes of Israel through the Messiah, the Lord Jesus.

It was Lord Jesus who made the covenant with father Abraham

And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; Gen 26:2-3

Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of G-d, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers: Rom 15:8


The apostle Paul understood perfectly that it was Lord Jesus who made the covenant with father Abraham. For he says that He came to confirm the promises to the fathers. He makes a direct reference to Genesis chapter 26, verses 2-3, where G-d says that He wants to confirm the oath that He swore to the father Abraham.

Since Lord Jesus will not act against His own Torah, this can only mean that it was He who made the covenant. Accordingly, He is now also in a position to confirm this covenant.

To illustrate this, let us again mention a dispute that He had with the Pharisees from the Gospel of John:

Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. John 8:57-59

The Pharisees wanted to stone Him, because He made Himself equal to G-d by saying

I am.

This designation is a title used by G-d in the burning bush when He spoke to Moses. There He answered Moses when he asked what His name was:

I am who I am! Ex 3:14

It was Lord Jesus who made the covenant at Sinai, and it is also He who shed His blood for the New Covenant. With whom was this covenant made?

The children of Israel were in captivity under Pharaoh in Egypt for 400 years. G-d sent Moses to free the people of Israel from the bondage of Egypt. Since Pharaoh refused to let the people go, 10 plagues came upon Egypt. The 10th and final plague was the death of all the firstborn in Egypt, from man to beast.

However, G-d gave the children of Israel the covenant of the Passover lamb. Anyone who put the blood of the lamb on their doorposts and kept the order of the Passover was spared from the judgment of Egypt that night. This was also the introduction of the Passover, which was given by G-d to the children of Israel as an eternal service (Ex 12:3-14).

After every house throughout Egypt that did not have the blood of the lamb on its doorposts was smitten by G-d, Pharaoh let the children of Israel go.

In the second book of Moses we read

And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children. And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle. Ex 12:37-38

It was therefore not only Israelites who left Egypt, but also strangers who joined the children of Israel. The ordinance of the Passover lamb also offered the stranger a reprieve from G-d's judgment on Egypt under certain conditions. Thus we read

And the Lord said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof: But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof. A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof. In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof. All the congregation of Israel shall keep it. And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the Lord, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof. One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you. Thus did all the children of Israel; as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they. And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the Lord did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies. Ex 12:43-51

What does this mean for the believer?

Lord Jesus is the true Passover lamb, which was slain for his bride Israel as atonement for sins

Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 1 Cor 5:7

Lord Jesus conveys this concept to us in the Gospel of John

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world... Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. John 6:51 .53-55

Lord Jesus is therefore our Passover lamb and whoever becomes a partaker of Him and follows Him will receive eternal life. Only through Lord Jesus is it possible for man to attain eternal life. Fittingly, we read in the Gospel of John

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

If we now take another look back at the ordinance concerning the Passover lamb, cf. Ex 12:43-51, it will become clear who was allowed to partake of the Passover lamb in the first place. We will go through this again point by point:

The Passover lamb was only given to Israel and foreigners who also believed in the Passover lamb and obeyed the ordinance concerning the Passover lamb. A foreigner was allowed to partake of the Passover on condition that all males were circumcised. This pointed to the circumcision of the heart; cf. Jer 4:4; Rom 2:25-26.

After this happened, he was to be like a native to whom the same Torah applies as to Israel; cf. Ex 12:48-49. After we have been circumcised in heart and have accepted Lord Jesus as our Lord and Savior, those who were once Gentiles are grafted into the covenant people of Israel.

In the letter to the Romans we read

And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. Rom 11:17-18

In Ephesians we read

Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: Eph 2:11-12

Furthermore, we read in Isaiah

Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the Lord, speak, saying, The Lord hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. For thus saith the Lord unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the Lord, to serve him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. The Lord G-d, which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him. Isa 56:6-8

In addition, the Passover lamb was to be eaten in a house and nothing was to be carried outside the house. Therefore, the Passover lamb was only given to the congregation of Israel and no one else. It is very important to understand what this means for every believer.

In the first letter of Peter we read that Lord Jesus was completely sinless and that we as believers are called to emulate him in this respect:

For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 1 Pe 2:21-22


Sin according to the NT is the transgression of the Torah

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 1 John 2:3


It could be established that Lord Jesus is THE Passover Lamb who was slain for the sins of his followers. This was possible because Lord Jesus was completely sinless and could therefore voluntarily sacrifice his life for the forgiveness of the sins of his covenant people. Since the concept of a Passover lamb comes from the Torah and Lord Jesus did not commit any sin (= transgression of the Torah), only those who are entitled to do so according to the Torah can partake of the Passover lamb and therefore be redeemed.

For Lord Jesus cannot go against His own Torah. If He were to do so in any way, He would not be a pleasing sin offering for the sins of men, since He would have had to be judged for His own transgressions. Only Israel (the 12 tribes) and the stranger (non-Israelite or Gentile), who was grafted into Israel after circumcision (circumcision of the heart), were allowed to eat of the Passover lamb. It is therefore like a curse to say:

The Torah no longer applies to me or the Torah is only for the Jews.

Because in fact, the entire Holy Scripture was ONLY given for Israel.

Both the commandments and the covenants and promises based on them. Anyone who wishes to participate in the promises and covenants of Israel can do so freely by joining the covenant people completely and keeping the ordinances of G-d. This includes the various commandments and the observance of the statutes. Furthermore, it is of course also not permitted to celebrate pagan festivals and then say that one is doing it for G-d, cf. Deu 12:29-30.

Basically, this is not so difficult to understand. Because G-d gives us examples in our everyday lives so that we can also better understand His ways. If, for example, someone from a foreign country wants to obtain british citizen, then this is also linked to very specific requirements. In addition, such a person is bound by the law of the UK. The same law applies to him as to any other British. After all, he cannot marry several women just because that may have been the custom in his home country. If he wants to stay in UK, the same regulations and laws apply to him as to everyone else.

In return, however, he also receives the same rights as other Britains. For example, he is allowed to pay taxes if he is working, can vote and must apply for a passport. However, they are also entitled to a pension, health insurance and other social benefits. This is easy for anyone to understand, but with G-d is everything suddenly supposed to be different?

The biblical G-d is a G-d of order, and there is no confusion there. It should be mentioned once again that both the covenant on Mount Sinai, where the 10 commandments were given, and the New Covenant were only made with the House of Israel and the House of Judah. But even with the Sinai Covenant, it was also possible for non-native Israelites to become part of this covenant people. Thus we read in the fifth book of Moses

Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath; But with him that standeth here with us this day before the Lord our G-d, and also with him that is not here with us this day: Deu 29:14-15

We already know that the children of Israel were also a mixed people when they left Egypt. But when the covenant was made on Mount Sinai, we read the following

These are the words of the covenant, which the Lord commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel Deu 29:1a

Here there was only talk of one people, the children of Israel. This referred to native-born Israelites as well as foreigners who had been grafted in. Only with these was the covenant made at Sinai. Lord Jesus Himself said that He came only for the lost sheep of the house of Israel, cf. Mt 15:24.

The New Covenant, for which the Messiah shed His blood, was made with the House of Judah and the House of Israel. In the letter to the Hebrews we read

But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Hebr 8:6-8

This again is a quotation from the book of the prophet Jeremiah; cf. Jer 31:31. The purpose of the New Covenant is explained to us from verse 9ff.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a G-d, and they shall be to me a people: Hebr 8:10

That verse also comes from the Book of Jeremiah; cf. Jer 31:33. The word for law in Hebrew is the word Torah. The new covenant, which was made with the House of Israel and the House of Judah through the blood of the Messiah, is thus, according to the Holy Scriptures, that G-d's Torah is written on our hearts. This was previously impossible for us humans, but through the Holy Spirit, who was sent to us after Lord Jesus ascended into heaven, we are now enabled to do so.

For the tasks of the Holy Spirit do not include babbling imaginary languages or rolling and grunting on the ground (see speaking in tongues and so-called spiritual gifts), but the guidance to walk in G-d's Torah.

In the Gospel of John, Lord Jesus speaks of the Holy Spirit, whom he will send to the disciples

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; John 16:7-9

Sin, as we already know, is the transgression of the Torah; cf. 1 John 3:4. We read further in the Gospel of John

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. nJohn 16:13

But what exactly is meant by the truth?

In Western culture, this may be a rather vague concept in many respects. But in the Hebrew culture and in the time when Lord Jesus spoke this and taught the Torah to His disciples as a Jewish rabbi, it was immediately clear to everyone what was meant by the whole truth.

In Psalm 119 we read the following

Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth. Ps 119:142

All thy commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me. Ps 119:86

Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Ps 119:160

As we have clearly seen from these verses, the biblical definition of truth is the Torah, the ordinances and commandments of G-d. This brings us full circle to the New Covenant, which, according to Hebrews 8:10, has the task of writing G-d's commandments on our hearts, among other things. The Holy Spirit, in turn, will guide us in all truth, i.e. Torah. Accordingly, a teaching that says that the Torah has been done away with cannot come from the Holy Spirit. This is very important to understand, because in Romans we read the following

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please G-d. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of G-d dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Rom 8:8-9

The Bible is a history book by and for Israel!

The descendants of the so-called "lost 10 tribes" of the northern house of Israel can be found in the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic and related peoples of today. The people of Israel? Not Jewish, but Anglo-Saxon!

The identification of one of the twelve tribes of Israel with a country or a population is not new: for generations there have been Britons who have drawn a parallel between Ephraim and England. This has been said about Manasseh and the United States. It is also said between Dan and Denmark, Judah and the Jews.

Zebulun is the youngest son from the marriage of the patriarch Jacob and the matriarch Leah. He is their sixth son. His older brothers are Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah and Issachar

And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of G-d blessed the children of Israel before his death... And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out; and, Issachar, in thy tents. They shall call the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness: for they shall suck of the abundance of the seas, and of treasures hid in the sand. Deu 33:1 .18-19

A long time ago, Helene Koppejan from Zeeland wrote the booklet: "Strange parallel: Zebulun - the Netherlands, a tribe of Israel",


which puts forward the theory that the Dutch are one of the "Ten Lost Tribes" and as such an important part of Joseph-Israel's family,


which merged with this empire after the conquest by the Assyrians in the 7th century BCE


The book explains that the 10 lost tribes, which were annexed by the Assyrians, arrived in Europe through migrations. More precisely: north-west Europe. Because the prophecy from the Bible is still in force and because G-d keeps his promises, these nations still fall under the Mosaic covenant. And not just the tribe of Judah. Mentioned in connection with the Assyrians are the Khumri, sons of Omri, which in turn is the tribal name of the Kimbrians, the people who settled in Jutland as Kelto-Germanic and Scythians. The book explains that the 10 lost tribes of Israel (who were not "Jews" at the time, because that is what the Judeans were) were migrating Celts who arrived in north-west Europe around 600 BCE thanks to migration from the Black Sea region. At the time of the Cimbrian Flood described by the Romans (2nd century BCE), these Cimbrians migrated southwards from southern Scandinavia to the Rhineland.

A film entitled 'Wondere Parallel' (1971) was also made, in which the similarities between the Seelanders (derived from Zebulon) on the Dutch west coast and the promises of Jacob to this son in particular are examined. The Dutch and thus their ancestors, the Frisians, would then be descended from the tribe of Zebulun, named after the son of Jacob (= Israel, who wrestled with G-d).

In all of history, no nation can be found that has fulfilled the Zebulunian promises more clearly in its national behaviour than the Netherlands on the North Sea. The harbour-rich area with its seafaring and circumnavigation, the draining of lakes from which the "hidden treasures of the sand" are harvested today as rich agricultural products, all this and much more points in only one direction: Holland-Sebulon.

Kimswerd is a village in the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân in the Dutch province of Friesland. Kimswerd could be a reference to the Cimbri, a Germanic tribe from northern Jutland, which would then refer to Omri's sons Khumri. Together with the Teutons and Ambrons, they moved southwards from their settlement area in the north of Central Europe around 120 BCE. The Assyrians called the Israelites Ghimri or Khumri after the name of their king Omri. The Babylonians called them "Gimmirai". Deriving from this name, the Greek historian Herodotus called them Cimmerians, others Cimbri or Cymbrians.

Kennemerland, a region in the Dutch province of North Holland, could at least be a reference to Khumri.

The symbol of Holland was a ship in popular tradition and a ship was the symbol of the former Dutch Republic. According to the Midrash, the Jewish interpretation literature, a ship was also the symbol of Zebulun. In Jewish synagogues, the various symbols of the Israelite tribes can often be found on the walls or on the curtain or door. Zebulun is always represented by a ship. Israeli stamps with the tribal symbols show a ship as the symbol of Zebulun


In Jewish literature, Zebulun is portrayed as a merchant seafarer, which is true of the Dutch. The Dutch were among the world's leading seafarers from the 16th century to the present day. The Dutch empire was spread all over the world. At one stage it included territories in North America. New York was founded by the Dutch. Peter Stuyvesant was a Dutch governor of New Amsterdam. Dutch rule over Ceylon, harbours in India, places in South America and Indonesia, etc. The Dutch harbours were also very important. Rotterdam was for a long time the largest and busiest harbour in the world. Rotterdam is still the most important harbour for the whole of Europe.

Jacob prophesied:

Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon. Gen 49:13

Only the Dutch live "on the coast of the sea", as the Dutch are descended from Zebulun!

Friesland and Holland can be identified with Zebulun. According to the geography of Ptolemy (ca. 100 CE, but based on material from several centuries earlier), the area of southern Scandinavia and northern Friesland was occupied by the Sabalingoi. The name Sabalingoi (Sebulon-goi) means "people of Zebulun".

Pytheas (ca. 325 BCE) is reported to have described the Dutch region as being inhabited by Scuthai (i.e. Scythians).

Each tribe of Israel had its own stone on the breastplate of the high priest. Zebulun's stone was a diamond. Today, South Africa produces most of the world's diamonds, most of which are processed and traded in Antwerp, Belgium, in the Flanders region, whose inhabitants are at least partly of Dutch descent. Before Antwerp, Amsterdam in Holland was the most important centre for diamonds. South Africa, where the diamonds come from, is dominated by the Boers, who are partly descended from Dutch settlers and whose language is based on an old Dutch dialect.

Holland's theory of descent is consistent with the earlier apocryphal Frisian historiography collected, for example, by Waling Dijkstra, a Dutch writer


Since the Frisians, Angles and Saxons jointly conquered the British continent from the Celtic Britons and then gave it their name and language, this view need not conflict with the Zebulun theory


Ultimately, the DNA of the men from East Anglia and Northumbria hardly differs from that of the Frisians. Old Frisian was also almost identical to the old Anglo-Saxon language.

The name Saxon comes from the name Isaaks-sons (= sons of Isaac, the son of Abraham with Sarah; Isaac = Hebrew Yischaq). If we omit the I, we get: Saaksons, or Saxons, or Saxons, who were known in antiquity as the Celtic-Scythian tribe of saka or sacae. Saxons sit on the English royal throne. They are descended from the "Saxe-Coburg-Gotha" family, and as anything German was not very popular outside Germany during the two world wars, they renamed themselves "Windsor". Today, all European high noble families are practically related to each other, which also emphasises the family ties between the European peoples.

The Scottish Declaration of Independence of Arbroath from 1320 refers to the origin of the Scots from the 10 tribes of Israel. The national anthem of the Netherlands also refers to the ancient roots, stating:



It is obvious with the Danes, who still bear their origins as the tribe of Dan in their name today: Danmark. Túatha Dé Danann, as they called themselves before settling in Ireland around 800 BCE, means "tribe of Dan". The clues are everywhere. Words have a meaning!

Britain, on the other hand, means berith = covenant; ayin = without, so "without covenant".

Some scholars now say, "There we have it! The British can't belong to Israel because Britain in Hebrew means "without covenant"!". They forget that Israel committed the sin of Jeroboam, which was to abandon the covenant with G-d and instead worship the "sun-G-d" Baal - thereby becoming a people who have broken the covenant with G-d, and are therefore now "without covenant".

To prevent the Israelites of the northern kingdom from rejoining Rehoboam, as they had to go to Jerusalem at least three times a year to attend the religious festivals, Jeroboam founded a new religious system, the two centres of which were Bethel in the southern northern kingdom and Dan in the north of the kingdom. There, the Ten Tribes worshipped golden calves.

And Jeroboam said in his heart, Now shall the kingdom return to the house of David: If this people go up to do sacrifice in the house of the Lord at Jerusalem, then shall the heart of this people turn again unto their lord, even unto Rehoboam king of Judah, and they shall kill me, and go again to Rehoboam king of Judah. Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy g-ds, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. And he set the one in Bethel, and the other put he in Dan. And this thing became a sin: for the people went to worship before the one, even unto Dan. 1 Kings 12:26-30

This system was a typical example of syncretism as practised by most churches to this day. It contained elements of true G-d worship mixed with pagan idolatry and pagan rituals. Above all, the basis of this system was fundamentally wrong. G-d had promised Jeroboam kingship over the 10 tribes of the northern kingdom of Israel

And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces: And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the Lord, the G-d of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee: 1 Kings 11:30-31

The king did not need to use human wilfulness to protect what G-d had promised. An unknown prophet warned Jeroboam of his idolatry, but he would not listen. The judgement of G-d struck Jeroboam and his family because of the idolatry he had seduced Israel into. Jeroboam's son Abijah fell ill and later died

At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fell sick... Moreover the Lord shall raise him up a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam... For the Lord shall smite Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water, and he shall root up Israel out of this good land, which he gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they have made their groves, provoking the Lord to anger. And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who did sin, and who made Israel to sin. 1 Kings 14:1 .14a .15-16

Since the days of Jeroboam, the 10 tribes of the Northern Kingdom worshipped Baal - and they did so not only until the empire was conquered by the Assyrians and the surviving people were led into captivity in Assyria in 722 BCE. Even after their flight from Assyria in 612 BCE, they held on to it - indeed, today they are no longer aware of their identity and unknowingly continue to worship Baal to this day!

The division of the Celts into tribal groups was not the only thing they had in common with the 10 tribes of Israel, but also Baal worship, as archaeological finds confirm. Vertically erected memorial stones, so-called mono- and megaliths, some with inscriptions, can be found today not only in the areas of the former southern and northern kingdoms, but also around 40,000 of them scattered throughout western and northern Europe. The stones were erected in honour of the "SunG-d" Baal and bear witness to the idolatry of the "Celtic" Hebrews: the 10 tribes of the Northern Kingdom of Israel.

Stonehenge is probably the best known of these numerous places in Europe where the worship of Baal was celebrated by the immigrant Israelites. If we want to search for the 10 tribes of Israel, then the Baal altars will show us the way unerringly - all the way to the Babylonian idolatry of the great churches of modernity. Israel still worships Baal to this day - quite consciously then, without realising it today!

The idea that the "State of Israel" is synonymous with the biblical people of Israel prevents us from understanding biblical end-time prophecy. Before 1948, this landscape was called Judea, and that is where the truth lies. Today's State of Israel is inhabited in part by members of the former Southern Kingdom of Judah - but the House of Israel, which never returned from the Assyrian captivity to the land of the fathers, are today's descendants of the Judeo-Christian Gentile peoples of Western and Northern Europe.
How can what you say be true? They have not kept the covenant of circumcision.
