That won’t work. Many Christians do not believe that baptism is an absolute requirement for salvation.
If it was, in the literal sense of actual ablution with water, the Good Thief would not have been in paradise that day with Jesus.

Then there is simply no evidence that he is born again. Has he ever claimed to have been born again?

So far, every time Trump has run for office, a majority of Americans voted for others. If you want to vote for a criminal, that's your call, of course. But it doesn't mean he's not a criminal.

People who don't like criminals won't vote for him. Those who do or don't care, might vote for him.

If you consider a panel of your fellow Americans to be a "kangaroo court", that's very telling.

When there were demonstrations in front of the White House, he hid in the basement bunker.

C'mon. If he knew that was coming, he'd have fled the city.

Trump spent nearly an hour in the bunker, which was designed for use in emergencies like terrorist attacks, according to a Republican close to the White House who was not authorized to publicly discuss private matters and spoke on condition of anonymity. The account was confirmed by an administration official who also spoke on condition of anonymity.

This is the guy who veterans refer to as "Cadet Bonespurs" for faking a disability to get out of the draft.
Okay. Still voting for him.

Okay. Still voting for him.
Trump once said he could shoot someone on a public street and people would still vote for him. Back when he got caught on tape bragging how he gets away with sexual assault because he was "a star", about 18% of people in one poll said that made them like him better. So there is that.

Sure. I'd still vote for him. Call that a "fact check" true. Good day.

And what evidence would be sufficient for an official salvation inspector?
I'd settle for a simple confession of faith from his own mouth. Not from press releases from Paula White or James Dobson.
Not bragging about what he's done for evangelicals and/or Israel. Just "I have placed my faith in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior." And then, just as John the Baptist requested of people in Matthew 3: "Produce fruit in keeping with repentance."
Doesn't mean I'd necessarily vote for him if he did that, but I would indeed accept him as a Christian brother.

Forbes sums up the race now:

Key Facts

Harris leads Trump 48% to 44% in Morning Consult’s latest poll released Monday, with 5% of registered voters surveyed selecting “someone else” and 4% saying they don’t know—the third week in a row Morning Consult’s weekly poll has shown Trump trailing Harris.

Harris also leads Trump by one point nationally in a CBS News poll released Sunday, in part because younger and Black voters said they’re more likely to vote and women indicated they believe Harris would favor their interests more (margin of error 2.1 points).

The CBS News poll—which was conducted July 30 through Aug. 2—also found Trump and Harris are locked in a tie among voters across the seven top battleground states (Michigan, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina and Nevada).

Trump leads Harris in at least eight other polls since Biden dropped out of the race, but most show her denting Trump’s lead over Biden and her approval rating ticking up since she announced her candidacy.

Harris leads Trump by two points, 46% to 44%, in a five-way contest with third-party candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Jill Stein and Cornel West on the ballot, according to an Economist/YouGov poll released Wednesday.

She is up one point, 43% to 42%, in a Reuters/Ipsos poll released Tuesday, a slight decline from her two-point lead in the groups’ previous survey conducted July 22-23.

Meanwhile, Trump led Harris by three points in a July 26-28 Harvard CAPS-Harris poll when they were given an option to choose “don’t know/unsure,” a four-point decline in Trump’s seven-point lead over Biden in a June Harvard CAPS-Harris poll; Trump leads Harris by four in a two-way matchup, consistent with his June polling lead over Biden.

Trump led Harris by one point (48% to 47%) in a New York Times/Siena poll conducted July 22-24, two points (49% to 47%) in a July 23-25 Wall Street Journal poll and two points (47% to 45%) in a HarrisX/Forbes online survey released June 26.

Four other polls show Trump leading: He tops Harris by three points (49% to 46%) in an online CNN/SSRS survey taken July 22-23, by two points (47% to 45%) in another Morning Consult poll, by one point (46% to 45%) in a NPR/PBS/Marist poll and by three points (44% to 41%) in an Economist/YouGov poll conducted July 21-23 that also found Kennedy with 5% support.

Polls consistently show Harris outperforms Biden—Biden trailed Trump by six points in polls by Morning Consult, CNN/SSRS, The Wall Street Journal and Times/Siena before he exited the race.

He's got to do something quickly to stop the bleeding. And that would be to turn the campaign over to people who know what they are doing. Trump lacks the intelligence and discipline to do it himself.

Obviously to elect somebody who’d lie about their religion (and everything else for that matter) in order to trick people into voting for them is something that we should “hope works.” I know I think people who lie about such things have the integrity such a job requires.
Considering the number of lies coming from current politicians, their religion should be the least of our concerns.

I am curious to see how well Kamala's poll numbers hold up once her handlers allow her to actually answer tough questions. Which has not happened yet.

I'm guessing she won't start blathering racial dreck as Trump did.

In 2021, the latest year with available data, the top 1 percent of income earners earned 26 percent of all income and paid 46 percent of all federal income taxes – more than the bottom 95 percent combined (33 percent).
But the DNC has taught it's mice to ignore truth and just follow the party lie.

General Kelly confirmed it. And unlike Trump, he's not a habitual liar. Like most veterans, I believe Kelly.
He lied, simple.
There are Christians who lie constantly, abuse and betray their wives, and so on. But it's easy to love God and country, when one is no longer expected to step up and defend it.
They are not Christian in any way but name then.
McCain risked his life for America and spent years in hell for it. He never regretted that choice. When America called on Donald Trump, he got a sudden case of "bone spurs." Oh, but he's a patriot...

And a Christian...

And he's got phot ops to prove it.

Sorry, Trump is a grandiose and compulsive liar. Kelly is a well-regarded officer, with a reputation for integrity.
You lose.

There are Christians who lie constantly, abuse and betray their wives, and so on. But it's easy to love God and country, when one is no longer expected to step up and defend it.

That's Trump. Your call.

Documented facts. McCain risked his life for America and spent years in hell for it. He never regretted that choice. McCain, shot down over N. Vietnam, actually refused the offer of a parole (as the son of a Navy Admiral) unless they let all prisoners go.

Trump's "bone spurs" just went away after the draft ended.

WASHINGTON – Two daughters of a New York podiatrist say that 50 years ago their father diagnosed President Donald Trump with bone spurs in his heels as a favor to the doctor's landlord, Fred Trump, The New York Times reported Wednesday.

Trump received five deferments from the draft for military service during the Vietnam War. He received four education deferments while he was a college student and a fifth deferment in 1968 for a medical exemption after he graduated.

Larry Braunstein, who died in 2007, rented a ground floor office in a building owned by Trump in Jamaica, Queens. His daughters, Elysa Braunstein, 56, and Sharon Kessel, 53, told the Times that their father's role in Trump's diagnosis had become "family lore."

"It was something we would always discuss," Elysa Braunstein told the Times. She and her sister are both Democrats who oppose Trump, according to the newspaper.

Elysa Braunstein said their father made the diagnosis to gain access to the landlord and that she didn't know if her father even examined the junior Trump.

"I know it was a favor," Elysa Braunstein said.

"What he got was access to Fred Trump," she told the Times. "If there was anything wrong in the building, my dad would call and Trump would take care of it immediately. That was the small favor that he got."

Matter of fact.

"I got my spurs on the battlefeild, and Donald Trump got his in a doctor's note."

She is not "blathering" anything except her handler's approved talking points since she was crowned queen of the DNC. Literally, she has not answered one single question from the press since Joe Biden dropped out.
