  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Trump Tells Christians They Won’t Have to Vote in Future: ‘We’ll Have It Fixed’

Well Project 2025 has a lot of preparations to be made in the first 150 days of the term. It talks about replacing tens of thousands of civil servants with those in a database who are loyal to Trump. It talks about Trump controlling the DOJ, etc. It is all about making the conservatives be in power permanently.
Again I have to wonder what the actual feasibility of that is as opposed to just being someone's pipe dream.
Well if heaps of people can invade the white house with no real plan beforehand then it seems plausible that it could succeed if they replaced lots of the non-civilians there.
I think you mean the Capitol building, and they could go inside because they were allowed to do so.
There's also Agenda 47 which is on Trump's own site: (e.g. "Trump Calls for Death Penalty for Human Traffickers")
Why is that a threat to anyone/anything other than human trafficking?
BTW do you think that Trump has ever been dishonest? e.g. for those court cases, etc.
I don't think Trump deserves the kind of over exaggerated billing he gets. With him it's not just "he's been dishonest at times", it's "he's the most dishonest person in history and has told 283549859598521 lies".

It's in the interests of Trump for people to think it isn't feasible (except for his strongest supporters). If people find out that it is feasible when he's in power then it could be too late.
I think you mean the Capitol building, and they could go inside because they were allowed to do so.
Well they could find some similar weaknesses that Trump supporters can take advantage of.
Why is that a threat to anyone/anything other than human trafficking?
Well he might want the death penalty for other things such as treason or opposing him.
From 2021:
The message was clear to those well-versed in QAnon lore: “the Storm” – the day of reckoning when Donald Trump and his faithful allies in the military would declare martial law, round up all their many political enemies, and send them to Guantánamo Bay for execution by hanging....

From 2021:
Anyone can decipher if 45/2025 is feasible because it's all laid out for anyone to examine. The Capitol police allowing people to walk through the building wasn't a weakness. It was just the sensible thing to do. People take tours through the capitol building all the time. It's not like the Pentagon. Trump already has an established track record as a president of the US. There's no practical reason to expect him to make dramatic deviations away from it. Despite the huge amounts of paranoia and anxiety over him being president the first time around, no doomsday worries took place. The worst thing radical liberals have to worry about is a certain amount of push back.

What a sad display of intentional ignorance and willful deceit.
Trump is talking to Christians who, in large part, do not like to vote and would not vote unless they have to. We have to because of the mess the nation is in.
Trump simply says that if we help get him elected this last time, he will help fix the mess, and thereafter, we will no longer have to vote. We can shed ourselves of this nasty chore.
He is not suggesting that there will be no more elections. That is pure deceit and false witnessing.
The desperation of this narrative is glaring. You folks should know better.

He's either saying he'll destroy democracy and freedom.

Or he's promising a genocide of Christians.

having rewatched the clip I think it's the 2nd, but not the way your thinking. He's going to push so many right win crazy christian ideas and get them through they won't need to vote again because they already got everytihng they want. Especially since for many Christians they arn't really voting for the president or such it seems, but what christian things they will get done in office. How many voted for decades only for overturning roe v wade regardless of anything else bad the republicans gave them.

The elections are already close when lots of Christians are voting. For Christians to stop voting suggests that the opposition could win. The opposition often just change things back. How exactly would Trump "fix" things so that things don't just get changed back? I mean even in decades time? I didn't say there would be no more elections, just that the votes won't necessarily determine the government similar to their uprising in the capitol.

They did attempt to override a democratic election and they would be in power if the attempt hadn't had failed. Well if I can't convince his supporters of these problems I guess I'll just wait until the problems start and say "I told you so".

Falsely portraying Trump as the ultimate boogeyman is pretty much all they have left.
I just think Project 2025's plan to keep conservatives ruling the government permanently could be achieved through Trump. That isn't necessarily the end of the world.

It didn't fail. For the most part most of them hung out for a while and went home. His supporters can already say "I told you so" regarding all the doomsday predictions that we're made about his first presidency.

The liberals want to have full permanent rule too you know. If they don't have their own version of project 2025 out for everyone to see, that just means they're not being transparent.

says:
Rioters also assaulted Capitol Police officers and reporters, and attempted to capture and harm lawmakers. A gallows was erected west of the Capitol, with rioters chanting to "Hang Mike Pence" after he rejected requests, from Trump and others, to use authority they believed he had to overturn the election results.
If Pence had gone along with it they would have gotten further...
As far as dangers and "I told you so" go, there might be a 10% chance or a 1% chance of something bad happening but it could be smart to be careful anyway even if it is relatively likely not to happen.

Like with a lot of protests there were radicals present who started rioting. But a good number of the people who showed up were just average ordinary suburban and rural folks.

I'm familiar with the narrative that's developed over time, but I also remember how things were playing out as it transpired.

he has a habit to jump from one thought to another quite freely, not every sentence in his speech is tightly related to the other.
Funnily enough that’s a symptom of schizophrenia and dementia.

How do you know it exists and who has it? Who wrote it? I would like to see it.
I think they are more of a cultural movement, not well organized or even defined,

It's a forgone conclusion they have a plan for the future. But maybe not. Maybe they're just winging it and flying by the seat of their pants.

This whole thread reminds me of why I started my thread.

English is easy to understand but for some reason trump needs a VERY special translation to understand what he says; it's like Joseph Smith and his special glasses.

What kinda leader needs this?

I am an outsider (I am not American), but I have noticed that Americans incline to over-analyze various minor details, to speculate wildly about them and to exaggerate them to absurd, conspiratorial proportions. Both democrats and republicans. They are not patient (or charitable) enough to simply wait for verification, clarification.

IOW, you are suggesting that American voters should take him at his word that "We'll have it fixed......"

“Christians, get out and vote, just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore. … You got to get out and vote. In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good you’re not going to have to vote.”

It is interesting to see how some rationalionize comments that no candidated runnig for office in a democratic republic should *ever* say.

If he loses he's not going to be on the ticket in 2028 that's for sure. His loss in this election will mark the end of Trumpism in American politics. It'll be a clear signal to the RNC to change course.
Fixed can mean a lot of things. Doesn't have to be in an illegal context.
Really?
You think he's not going to try to come to trouble?
